John McCain And The Senselessness Of The Republican Faithful If number one was a wash, let's put up number two...by Scott from Oregon

John McCain is out there traveling the world, attempting to demonstrate just how "capable" he is in handling America's foreign policy. The great irony has been, of course, that the more he demonstrates his foreign policy acumen, the sillier he actually ends up looking.
Five years after the US "bought" the Iraqi debacle, John McCain still does not know who the "players" are. His "misspeaks" in public, captured by rolling video, are demonstrating everything a bright American would need to know to decide that John McCain is not the man he claims to be.
Remember, this is the same man who declared Baghdad safe enough to venture out into the streets of unescorted (which, as was demonstrated quite easily and readily by everyone in Baghdad with a microphone and a video camera, was simply not even close to being true). At what point do Americans with a brain start to use it and write this man a ticket back to where he came from?
The thing that gets me the most confused when I analyze the John McCain Republican nomination choice, is this simple fact. John McCain LOST to G. W. Bush back in 2000, when he was a younger and sharper man than he is today. He LOST.
What that means, is that the Republican base have opted to put up a candidate that couldn't even beat G. W Bush- the guy who turned out to be one of the worst Presidents this country has ever put in the White House.
Think about that sobering thought for awhile, while I go get myself a beer

You're trying to make logic out of a paradox. 70% want an end to the war yet the majority elects candidates who all of which have no clear plan to end the war completely...a huge percent are suffering foreclosure and economic debt to the ceiling yet the current candidates all have no plan to balance the check books and are instead ready to borrow and tax to keep the pony show going...
The people you discuss are simply stupid...want proof?.....
To be fair, we didn't know Bush would be such a failure back in 2000. If we knew then what we know now the republicans would have flocked to McCain in groves.
I assume the republicans picked McCain in order to connect with the middleground people. He is not exactly as right as Bush and I am guessing the republicans want to alienate themselves from Bush as much as possible in the upcomming election.
Finally, someone has pinned the tail on the donkey where it belongs.
It shows just how far off base the Republican Party has deteriorated in recent decades....but then so has the Democrats....how sad an it get....hang around compadres, the show will get better....er....worse....take your pick..
YOU CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS....VOTE...AND GET EVERYONE ELSE OUT THERE TO BACK YOU UP.
