Race is being used to torpedo candidates for President, including Ron Paul. by BattleStations

I'm no fan of Senator Obama, but I believe the Republicans are out of line with their attempt to assassinate his character by painting him a racist. The Republicans tried something similar with Ron Paul by attempting to link his beliefs with a campaign donation from a white supremacist group. Ron Paul is no more a racist than Martin L. King Jr.
The repeated association of the preacher's sermons and Senator Obama is a classic propaganda technique. Just as Nazi Germany created fear and resentment against the Jews by associating them with the countries economic problems. Repeat the lie enough times and the people will believe it to be true. However, I believe this strategy to paint Obama a closet racist will ultimately backfire. Most informed Americans can distinguish scare tactics from truth.
All the rhetoric about race and religion is distracting from the real issues facing the nation. The federal government is $9 trillion in debt, over budget by $450 billion and embroiled in an unproductive occupation of two foreign countries. Not to mention ever expanding federal regulation, a welfare state we can't afford, increasing inflation, a weak economy, and the devaluation of our currency.
It is obvious the Republicans and Democrats are unwilling to talk about the real issues facing the country. It's time someone from the Libertarian Party steps up to the plate to set the country back on the right course.
