A Party Not Even McCain Could Love Why supporters of Ron Paul could make the GOP a party not even McCain could love.by an existentialist

As always, my article is going to be short and sweet.
I spent my past Saturday at my first county convention, and it was awesome (aside from my headache and empty stomach). Seeing as I will be eighteen next Sunday, I was arguably the youngest delegate there. Actually, I was an alternate that got seated, but that's beside the point.
Anyway, I'm not sure if any of you have heard, but apparently Ron Paul's supporters are doing a magnificant job rebuilding the GOP in all of their respective conventions. Woohoo!
In Missouri, plenty of counties had elected full pro-Paul slates of delegates to the congressional convention, and passed a series of earth-shaking resolutions. Some include opposition to the Iraq war, opposition to the Federal Reserve Act, a return to the gold standard, and plenty of other ones as well.
I can say the same happened in Minnesota, which is where I was. I don't think there was as large as number of slates, but I do know that in my county we had a pro-Paul majority on the delegates and alternates. Furthermore, my county passed a resolution to oppose the Fed. Res. Act as well as return to the gold standard. Nothing on the Iraq war was mentioned, sadly, but I am encouraged to hear that it has been in other states across the nation.
So, where am I going with all this? Quite simply, I am trying to help you draw the conclusion that you and I must be involved in. We need to work to make the GOP a party of principle, we need to weed out the liberals and the moderates and return to the conservative/libertarian principles which gave birth to the GOP. We need to make the GOP so firm in its convictions that McCain would not even dream of being its nominee. This can only happen if you get to your convention, vote for pro-Paul delegates, and pass resolutions that will limit the power of the government! So do it!

I'm a pro-paul delegate in MN Congressional district 5. We have a hard fight ahead of us, with a stodgy old time republican system here. I recommend getting involved even more - say at the city level even. To be on the ballot in my city (crystal) is a $15 filing fee. Get your name out there and be a mover / shaker in the party in another couple years. Thank you for participating in the process!!
I am so happy to hear that another pro-revolution Ron Paul supporter is participating in the movement and doing something positive for the country. Thank you. Another point you made that I agree wholeheartedly with is reforming this party into something that it was made to be in the first place. True conservative / libertarian guidelines that wound never allow a neocon-conartist like McCain to even be affiliated with.
I read a statement recenly that Alan Keyes is resigning from the Republican Party, because it wasn't God-oriented enough. He felt that conservatives were used for their vote and discarded right after. Duh!
I think we're seeing another Bob Dole-type of run for president with McCain. The scarier thing is that McCain has a good chance of winning.
Has anybody seen the price of gold, Swiss Franc, the euro and oil today? Too bad none of the front-runners has any idea what money is.
I see JP Morgan is buying out Bear Stearns for $2.00 a share. Is this the sequeal to the finacial collapse of the early 1900's or what. First the Fed creates the housing bubble. Then wait till alot of lending institutions take on alot of subprime loans. Then pop the bubble and buy up the competion for pennies on the dollar.
