"Basic and principle matters of economics and how they can deliver prosperity or poverty, depending on who controls them and how they exercise this control, has been an ongoing concern and interest of mine for over three decades now..." by Michael

Well, that's part of what I claimed that I, as a columnist on the Nolan Chart, would discuss. Though it was last on my list it is really foremost on my mind. My support of Ron Paul being first on my list was largely due to his sound approach to economic policy. I found that my support of Ron Paul also facilitates my anti-globalism stance. My position against biotechnology?--well, Dr. Paul had a Constitutional point of view to it (of course); one that I wish were more deliberate and "on-my-side"--but as he said in his writings; the Federal government, Constitutionally, has no business in these affairs; let the individual States establish regulations in these areas according to the will of the majority--well, I'm good with that and I'm comfortable in feeling that he would take a position that would at least afford us an informed choice when it comes to the labeling of GMO's- in -our -food issue--a position against the multi-national corporations--or maybe he would relegate this issue to the individual States and the will of their majority and support and safeguard their right.
The only problem I have with the will of the majority is that it is not always fully informed (enter "the media") and it is not always right--two millennia ago the majority chose Barabbus...but then this too was according to God's will and according to the fulfillment of His purposes...
When I first started looking into Ron Paul's candidacy I perused his writings which were available on his campaign website. I liked what I saw. I was in agreement with the overwhelming majority of what he wrote. I even played the skeptic and said, "Hey, this guy's too good to be true--somethings gotta be up!" But additional research into Dr. Paul; his vote record in the Congress, etc. vindicated him in my mind as being a part of any conspiracy (who could help but be paranoid after they played the Ross Perot card to install Clinton?--twice--). But in scrutinizing Dr. Paul I realized that, Constitutionally, I would have to tolerate those with whom I did not agree but that transversely they would also have to tolerate me. The Constitution that the Founding Fathers composed gives me a right to exist according to my Christian beliefs and values. But it also likewise gives an equal right for the Atheist, the Muslim, the Buddhist, the Hindu and even the Satanist to exist as long as we don't impose upon and transgress each others right to exist--each others right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. But hey, I'm alright with that as long as I have a right to exist! "Why Christian!?!"--well, because that's me--"Why not something else!?!"--well, because that's you; Constitutionally I have my right and you have yours...I'm not quite certain that a lot of those who chose to support Ron Paul fully ascertained the full spectrum and intent/result of a strict Constitutional application of our form of government...
...At least Ron Paul's campaign has revived and renewed a knowledge and understanding of Constitutional governance as intended by the Founding Fathers--when you think of it subversive elements have been successfully undermining this for a century or more now--and within this revival and renewal the Revolution which has been birthed can evolve and persevere against the global elements which stand to transgress our Constitution, natural right and Divine Law...
...we really do need to persevere the course now. Our democracy has passed beyond the historically demonstrated phase of apathy and on into dependancy--beyond this, history teaches, lies a dictatorship and a return to bondage (this time in the form of Globalism and the forfeiture of our national sovereignty)--let's at least hope to change it up this time around...
...but hey, it ain't over until it's over (and I haven't heard that yet) so until Ron Paul announces formally that he is throwing in the towel I'll be supporting him to the end (just this week I ordered my first "Ron Paul" bumper stickers--guess I wanted to make a "statement")...and the Revolution beyond even this...
Even though his campaign has shifted gears, it will still be interesting to see what happens between now and the convention and at the convention itself and how it all plays out--heck, old man McCain could croak in the midst of a temper tantrum between now and then--who knows...
...good grief McCain has a lot of skeletons in his closet which have accumulated during his Senate career...I guess "the powers that be" want Hillary and Obama...
