Ron Paul Still in Race

Ron Paul has not quit and the Revolution is not over.

The Republican National Convention is not until September. Then, and only then, will we know for certain who the Republican Presidential Nominee will be.

Ron Paul is still in the race. He has not removed his name from any ballot or contest. And the Republican Party may yet come to its senses.

But, more importantly, the Revolution is not over. In spite of the nationwide corporate media blackout, the message of freedom is spreading. And more and more Americans are waking up to the true condition our nation is in.

Ron Paul has played, and continues to play, an enormous role in helping to educate our nation. Because of his campaign, the connection between Monetary Policy and Military Policy has been made in millions of American minds, and that is knowledge that will never go away.

Education is clearly the key. Because only those who KNOW about a problem will be motivated to take action to stop it. Knowledge is the necessary impetus behind every action.

But the duty to educate is not just Dr. Paul's; it is OURS as well. WE are the foot soldiers of the revolution. And it would be shame at this point to turn and run.

We must continue to educate our fellow Americans. From running for office and attending debates to burning Loose Change DVDs at home, every individual can educate those around him in some way.

Ron Paul is technically in the race the way that Terri Shiavo was technically still alive.

Ron Paul said a month ago that the odds of him winning the nomination at the convention were "nearly zero".  Last night he said that "victory in the conventional sense is NOT available".

What part of these statements are Ron Paul apologists not able to comprehend?

It seems to me that there are two types of Ron Paul supporters:

1. Those who identify what substantive actions can realistically be acted upon.

2. Those who sit around TALKING about the easy route they WISH was available.

Ron Paul is over as a Presidential candidate.  His own admission that he has "nearly zero" chance of winning a month ago to last night saying that he cannot win the Presidency, coupled with the fact that he has suspended his campaign efforts, seems to tell me that RON PAUL IS NO LONGER RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT.

Call me a party-pooper, but them's the facts.

Good news for the revolution:  as I was scanning the radio this afternoon, I heard someone saying that inflation, borrowing, and raising taxes are all unsuitable solutions for reducing the huge federal debt, and that the only real solution was to cut spending by eliminating all government entities not specifically outlined in the Constitution.

I was hooked, so I listened some more.  This same talk show host then took a call from a McCain supporter who lauded McCain's superior military ability and emphasized how important it was to win the war in Iraq.  The host acknowledged that it was important to defeat the terrorists, but not at the expense of our liberty!  He went on to say that there was no point in winning the war if we lost our Constitutional freedoms, and he pointed out that the Constitution was not made to protect our nation or our government but to protect individuals from the government.

Who was this man who was reading right from Ron Paul's speeches?  Turns out it was Jason Lewis, filling in for Rush Limbaugh. The message is spreading.  With a bit more than five months until the convention in St. Paul, there's still time for more people to join our cause.  This is just the beginning!

You wrote, "And the Republican Party may yet come to its senses."

This hypothesis has nothing to do with the rest of your article.  There are two unavoidable reasons: uno, the number of times the GOP could have been said to have senses could be counted on the right big toes of Lincoln, Eisenhower, and Reagan; and dos, the sentence is as logical as saying, "And the Democrat Party may yet come to its senses."

Both parties are the home of authoritarianism, which "ism" is inimical to Libertarianism.

If Ron Paul's strategy is to be elected as a republican, I am in favor of it to the extent that it works, but I am in opposition to the extent that it is a bad voters'-eye association with statism, socialism, big government, bad foreign policy, and greed.

Otherwise, thumbs up to you!  We need to keep the idea before the public, so they can remember what they keep passing up in their search for the true America.

We should put up billboards that say, "You just passed Liberty, one election back."

McCain looks to me as if he may expire sometime soon. I predict that he'll burst a bloodvessel in his brain shortly after a debate with Clinton or Obama. We should position ourselves for this eventuality.

I fully support your last two paragraphs, assuming you are saying that it our duty, and not Dr. Paul's to build the movement beyond the point that it is now.  Other than that, i agree with the first comment on the article.

I am so angry at people who have turned their backs on the Revolution because things did not work out as we had hoped. So few look at what we have accomplished, and see that we have made a difference. The real battle is a life long fight, and Ron Paul will always be the inspiration. My intention is to buy and read all his books, keep following the light.

We are so lucky in this day and age to have someone like Ron Paul to lead and inspire us. Most would not have given so much of themselves, and stand up against conventional thinking, in spite of the ridicule, to fight the fight like he has. Shame on those of you who can't appreciate what he put into it. You aren't the real freedom fighters. None of us have given as much as Ron Paul and his family have to this battle.

Repeat - If you called yourself a supporter but now feel like Dr. Paul has let you down - SHAME ON YOU!

Ralph Nader will continue the message regarding "the connection between Monetary Policy and Military Policy" to "millions of American minds" such that this will be "knowledge that will never go away."

Many of the same themes of the Paul Campaign are present in the Nader campaign and Libertarian and Paul supporters should do all they can to help bring those same principles Nader stands for to the forefront and especiallyt the Third-Party issue that Nader cares so deeply about.
