In a video released Thursday night and displayed on the campaign website, Ron Paul revved up revolutionaries once again with the message of liberty, peace, and prosperity. As many were wondering whether he would step out, Paul showed that his dedication to the cause of liberty is more important to him then taking a more comfortable path.
Ron Paul emphasized that his campaign is not about him but about the supporters of freedom. As Paul spoke those words, many Americans tuning in realized that he is in this until there is no one left standing for the Constitution. The message of liberty will be carried to the Republican Convention in September. As Paul spoke about the long term objectives of this revolution, he in no wise suggested that these changes could not come sooner through the dedication of freedom-loving Americans vying for delegate spots to the GOP Convention as well as running for the spectrum of political offices.
Paul said that he has made his mark on history, but while McCain is short on bound delegates, and facing Federal Election Commission legal troubles, Paul's supporters may succeed in a Paul vs. Obama/Hillary ballot next November. Ron Paul has made this opportunity available and ever the more urgent to Americans who still know what our country was founded on. Hats off to Paul as he once again sacrifices his own comforts to continue in the fight for liberating our country from tyranny and injustice.

Ron Paul is still in the race. Till the fat lady sings it ain't over. When people add up the debt to whom, and interest to conspiritors with Bush & McCain is how much they will turn to Ron Paul who alone understands our economic needs to survive. Ron
It sure sounded like he was personally done with presidential campaign activities in that video. This makes -->me<-- think that he is rolling up his tent. He did say that he couldn't win the nomination in any "conventional" manner. It sure seems like a lot better idea to march on the convention in St Paul than on Washington where no press will care. Maybe I need to watch that video again but even though I don't want to believe it, it souded to me like he was stepping aside and focusing on other battles. Like he said, this change has to come from the grassroots. If you are looking for some good news, look into some of the delegate reports coming out of Texas. Our people are passing Ron Pauls platform on as resolutions to the Republican platform.

I agree with Sam, it sure sounded like he was bowing out, handing the reins over to us the people. I am a huge Paul supporter, a Precinct leader, a precinct delegate in North Carolina, and I plan on voting for Paul, even if I have to write him in, but the video in no way came across like he was staying in the race.
Ron Paul has said before that he is in it at least to the convention, when has he ever gone back on his word and being that this is not a conventional campaign, I find it fitting to say we can't win a conventional way. Ron Paul can't run without us, we are his foundation he needs are unwavering support.
I wish Ron Paul would stop wasting our time. He will NOT win the GOP primaries, so he either needs to drop out, or pony up and actually run for President. He is wasting people's time and energy with this nonsense.
People are talking about wasting their vote by writing in Ron Paul, but they don't count write-in votes. I'm not wasting my vote. I'll vote Libertarian any day before I'll throw my vote away.
Why isn't this "Ron Paul Revolution" focusing their energies on something productive? The GOP was and is a huge waste of time. The only productivity that could come out of the GOP from this is that Ron Paul got media attention and he could use that to make a run for President in the general election and really spread the message.
Yeah, I'm a follower trying to follow the leader off a cliff into the War Party. Oh wait, that's not me.
Actually, I already know what I'm going to do. I'm just wondering when the "Ron Paul Revolution" is going to stop senselessly spinning its wheels. See, I don't need a leader to hold my hand to tell me what to do.
I missed no boat and you know nothing about me to speculate anything about me or what I have contributed to help take this country back.
I'm thinking I'll be voting Libertarian. I'm thinking I'll be helping the Libertarian Party grow. I'm thinking that there will be alot of others who will be voting Libertarian. I'm thinking that it's about time the GOP got dealt a blow and that Dems for social freedom will start to pay attention to what's going on. I'm thinking that there are alot of good Libertarian candidates who are running on a platform that will help bring America back to freedom.
I don't know what you're thinking.
Liberty defies all party lines. And the bottom line is that no political party can be trusted anyway. All men are fallible. So, affiliate or infiltrate wherever you wish and labor for liberty. The fact that you keep arguing about Republican versus Libertarian just indicates that you think in terms of partisanship instead of liberty.
I fail to see your point. The Republican Party rejected Ron Paul's message in favor of a liberal war-monger. What don't you get?
If it is partisanship that I won't be a part of statist war-mongers, than I am partisan to that. I opt for liberty, INSTEAD.
I don't understand why so many Ron Paul supporters are so set against the Libertarian Party, or why they waste their time with the Republican Party that is currently rejecting them and follows NO platform.
When you said that liberty defies all party lines, where you speaking of the Communist Party or the Fascist Party or did you have some other party in mind?
"I don't understand why so many Ron Paul supporters are so set against the Libertarian Party, or why they waste their time with the Republican Party that is currently rejecting them and follows NO platform."
I guess it is because some of us think that the Libertarian party sees something wrong with wanting to enforce our borders. What about national sovergnty is so incompatible with Liberty anyway?
Personally I think that the only way we should be so "libertarian" would be in our allowance of the free flow of commerce. This means finding mutually acceptable and responsible terms by which sex, drugs, labor, and intellectual properties can be traded. Since everyone currently seems more affixed on the immediate seizure of maximum profits than steadily-flowing extended commercial relations, I see a daily-lowering likelyhood that such terms will be met anytime soon.... As long as we allow taboo forms of commerce to remain in the "black", we will all suffer disproportionately negative effects throughout all forms of commerce....
For all the change he espouses, Obama is still going to jail you and "treat" you for wanting things "they" think you shouldn't have....Denial of liberty yet again...
Loddi Doddi: in case you are a delegate stay at least in the R party until the convention and see what happens. Voting L will be more a protest vote, they have no chance to become a viable alternative (unfortunately). Some say 1/3 in the GOP is against the war... that is a basis to build on within the GOP. In the Democratic party there are also those for and against the war, think about it, and some in the Libertarian party also for the war, but probably the minority. How are you going to get political change with no congress seat, no senator position, no governor of the LP ever elected? Dr. Paul was realistic and has not given up either, it will not cost so much to continue the campaign, but will cost something to grow and support the right candidates. The neocons within the GOP started to build their position from a small minority also and gained control. The same way the true anti-war conservatives in the GOP can retake control over time in the GOP, and faster with a specific happening.
"How are you going to get political change with no congress seat, no senator position, no governor of the LP ever elected?"
Stefan,
Uh, by voting for them, supporting them, and helping them grow. Don't you read what I write?
OK, so you guys have ONE voice in Congress. That's it. So you got the LP beat by 1 on that.
However, the Libertarian Party has a whole party of people and a platform with candidates running all across the nation ready to go and be voted on. Help the libertarian message grow instead of letting the libertarian message be drowned out and diluted by the statist War Party.
Listen to Ozlanthos who states, "Personally I think that the only way we should be so "libertarian" would be in our allowance of the free flow of commerce."
Does that sound libertarian to you? Sounds like the libertarian message in the "Ron Paul Revolution" is already being diluted big time, and I have seen many, many comments similar to this from the Ron Paul camp of supporters.
You are so adament about how the Libertarian Party is bad and can't be helped, but you think the GOP is just dandy and will be a snap to take over. What a joke.
The GOP is about legislating morals. The GOP is about the Christian Coalition and their quest to stomp out "Islamo-fascism" and spread Christianity via war. The GOP is about fighting the "War on Terror" and speading the American empire and "freedom" at the end of a barrel and bringing about a world-wide police state to get them tearraristsss, even though the terrorists must come to Iraq if they want any action, and according to Republicans the terrorists were attracted to Iraq like bears to honey.
The GOP is about the War on Drugs and putting those "criminals" behind bars. The GOP is about stronger penalties across the board and for the Prison Industrial-Complex and for more cops everywhere. The GOP is about supporting the troops by shipping them off to war for cheaper oil and shutting them protesters up via "free speech" zones.
The GOP is about not letting Osama Bin Laden win at hating us for our freedoms by simply taking Americans freedoms away and calling it Patriotism via the Patriot Act. The GOP is about fighting those evil terrorists by torturing suspects to show them terrorists what America is all about.
The GOP is about getting the government off of Walmart's back and other huge international corporations. The GOP is about outsourcing jobs so to other countries and allowing illegal aliens to enter freely where Americans must compete with slave labor so that the huge corporations can save money, and they call that free trade.
It's not just the Republican politicians who are that way, the Republican voters and constituents support them being that way.
You do your thing, and I'll vote Libertarian and help the LP grow, and I won't waste one bit of time with the GOP.
"I guess it is because some of us think that the Libertarian party sees something wrong with wanting to enforce our borders. What about national sovergnty is so incompatible with Liberty anyway?"
Ozlanthos,
What is it with the Republican Party that you see is different in this regard? Ask Rick Perry and Bush about the Trans-Texas Corridor and the NAFTA Super-highway, where they are stomping on the Constitution and the people's property rights by handing the property over to an international corporation owned in part by the King of Spain. Partial credit can be given to the Republican-controlled Supreme Court ruling that was handed down last year which favored corporations being able to take individual property owner's land which was a completely unconstitutional rulling. And guess who the Republican Party has selected as their nominee? Open border McCain (a continuation of Bush).
Besides, if that's the only thing you see wrong with the Libertarian Party, don't you think that it would be easier to solve that issue with the Libertarian Party.? I don't know about the other candidates running, but I know that Christine Smith recognises states rights on the border issue, so that if say Texas or California wants a closed border they can have it, and if say Washington or Maine wants an open border, then they can have it.
One thing that is true thoughout the Libertarian Party and is in their platform on the border issue that I agree with is that we should end welfare and other hand-outs to illegals first. I personally am not for a border fence, but I am for ending the illegal alien flooding of our country. I just think that there are better ways to solve the illegal immigration issue than putting up a huge wall that also would enclose Americans in.
The fat lady hasn't sung yet . A lot can happen at the
convention . Yeah , I know , it's a long shot , but it's occured before and can occur again . The MSM is trying it's best to convince us that McCain has it won and that's not true . The " ACTUAL " delegates have yet to commit and be counted .
I understand your point of not wanting to vote for those that we know are in the pocket of the " Shadow Government " or " The lesser of two evils " . I will not vote that way either , but my powder will remain dry until " AFTER " the convention . We only ask that you do the same .
I could care less what the MSM says. Have you been paying attention to what Ron Paul has said? The fat lady belted out a long tune, backed her bags, flew back home, and is in bed asleep. It's just the crickets chirping now.
There will be no brokered convention. The best you can hope for is to pass resolutions and hope that the Republican politicians follow those resolutions (they won't). Republicans don't follow their own platform, the Constitution, or laws in general.
