The new religion would like us to confuse having a clean green environment with the epic fight against man-made 'global warming'.
They will have you believe that man's carbon emissions can really influence the earth surface temperature. But physical evidence from throughout this solar system proves clearly that only the sun can pull off such a feat.
Soon, the original 'Green' or Environmental movement, with their great history of working hard for universal principles like conservation, clean energy, pollution reduction and recycling, became overwhelmed by the new faith.
All hail the Carbon Gods.
Most well-meaning environmentalists were happy to worship the new Carbon Gods, as they showered their followers with much money and promise. No longer would they have to battle in vein the powerful multinationals and corrupt governments who were bent on the destruction of the earth.
Followers, although not fully understanding this new scientific mantra of man-made 'climate change', nonetheless sang in concert, "That's the way it's going, so we have to move in that direction."
The Carbon Gods and their religious followers could not face the stark truth... that CO2 changes do not lead earth surface temperature changes, they actually lag behind these surface temperature changes. Or that 97% of greenhouse gasses (including clouds) are in fact H2O. Man contributes less than 3% to the total CO2 output of the planet. His contribution is microscopic. But even eliminating that minuscule amount of CO2 is not the ultimate aim of the Carbon Gods and their new faith. No, they see an altogether bigger picture.
Frustrated by science, the new religion lays its roots down in politics, and in government. The chariot of "Global Governance" now awaits the Carbon Gods to carry them to new heights.
And the battle rages. The Carbon Gods try to destroy the logical insurgency with a myth: Global Warming debunker scientists receive money from the oil industry. This myth is simply not the case, when in fact the opposite has proven to be true. Global Warming shills are now anchoring the biggest finance and control bubble since the dotcom boom in the late 1990's. It's a multi-billion dollar industry based on the absence of a discernible product, a new religion where missionaries in grey suits have laid siege on Wall Street and London's Square Mile.
To question the faith is forbidden, as the financiers tap government and UN funds in their crusade to profit from producing nothing, a monumental achievement even by capitalist standards.
When asked about the CO2 gravy train', many followers, NGO workers and emerging bio-fuel tycoons will admit to you, "don't ask where it's going, just jump on."
China is set to overtake even US carbon emissions in about 2 years time. Yet, according to the sacred scriptures contained in the Kyoto Protocols, the US and other 1st world countries must buy 'carbon credits' from these countries in what can only be described as a massive redistribution of wealth, and one which will not effect carbon emissions at all. The creation of credits implies that there are debts. So the Carbon Gods create a new debt-based economy complete with caron futures and carbon hedge funds.
To the average bystander this would look an equation which makes no sense, but when you put it into the context of a One World Government, the big picture become clearer.
The late, great historian from Georgetown University, Dr Caroll Quigley, illustrates this development in his famous book Tragedy & Hope" by stating, " the powers of financial capitalism had another far-reaching arm, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole. This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by Central Banks of the world, acting in concert, by secret governments arrived at in frequent private meetings and conferences."
Sound familiar?
Strangely, or not, oil consumption continues to rise, seemingly unaffected by the Great Carbon Gravy Train. Nor has pollution, as corporations have quickly discovered that the PR benefits from paying tribute to the Carbon Gods, coupled together with paying their guilt taxes, are an easier route to profit than sparing with the old EPA, private citizens or duelling charities like Greenpeace in the High Courts.
This new economy, proposed by Carbon God Al Gore and Carbon Money Changer George Soros, is to be administrated and run by hundreds of so called "Private-Public Partnerships", a reinvented form of government now commonly known by its initials, "PPP". Here large multinational corporations, NGO's and subservient governments collude to impose their own agenda on regional populations under the cleverly fabricated banner of "sustainable development". As power begins to shift over to these PPP's, important decision making then takes place behind closed doors, with the ultimate goal of generating limitless private profits from public taxation programs- in the case, carbon taxes & premiums on all goods, services and labour. PPP's and NGO's now play hardball to get Congress to spend more and more money on global warming and carbon calculation research, and even pass economically damaging legislation to support this false thesis. These companies same organisations who lobby Congress stand to gain immediate millions, and in some cases, billions from the new legislation.
The leading mechanism is the amazing "Cap and Trade" scheme, whereby large corporations can slowly monopolise industrial sectors, gradually pushing out smaller businesses and competitors who cannot afford to meet the draconian anti-competitive measures.At present, the controlling organisation has taken the form of the United Nations, under the direction of the world's Central Banks, now working with elites from the G8 nations to form a global bureaucracy known as the "World Environmental Organisation".
The reality of all this is that the environment is being used for a political power struggle. It's being used to further centralize government. It's being used to create a One World' government through the practice of global governance (watch this space).
Wikipedia defines global governance as, "the political interaction of transnational actors aimed at solving problems that affect more than one state or region when there is no power of enforcing compliance." Does compliance mean collecting taxes and premiums? You bet.
Backed by the World Bank, the ultimate goal of these massive international trade efforts like NAFTA, CAFTA and GAT, are to support a private, controlling organisation, with business at the helm of all trade and economic policy. This organisation will not be accountable to the people at all, and will enforce a rigid regulatory structure, of which the carbon taxes are a central piece.
In the US, the carbon issue is being a tool to submerge the sovereignty of the United States. World Federalist Association wholly supports and promotes such efforts.
But still, the public needs to buy it and the currency which funds the agenda is the much trumpeted scientific "consensus". The IPCC is nothing more than a political organisation set up and funded by the UN, to advance whatever social agenda the globalist movement wished to be advanced. We were told that this partisan political body had "an overwhelming consensus" of the world's scientific community, that we are headed for a planetary disaster cause by man-made global warming when no such consensus exists.
It sure sounded good at the time. The gods must be crazy.
We should be reminded that increasing the CO2 in glass-houses increases crop yield of plants and it is still completely safe to work inside this environment.
The entire world people are being conned and manipulated by the Carbon Gods.
And here we are in 2008. Too far down the road to turn back? Or just too proud and stupid to turn back?
What is the price we will pay for playing into the hands of the global elite this time?

The statement that only the sun determines the temperatures of earth's atmosphere is ridiculous, but I agree that biofuels are a global manmade disaster.
Biofuels are shrinking the human food supply and causing a world food crisis. Because so many farmers switched to growing corn for ethanol, US wheat supplies are now lower than they have been since 1958, when the US population was only 175 million people. According to the UN, global food prices rose 40% in 2007 alone, largely due to biofuels production. It takes 9000 gallons of water to make just 1 gallon of biodiesel, so biofuels are aggravating water shortages. Biodiesel from soybeans costs the same to manufacture as regular diesel from oil at $232 a barrel. The respected journal SCIENCE recently published "Use of U.S. Croplands for Biofuels Increases Greenhouse Gases Through Emissions from Land Use Change," which found that using any biofuel, even ethanol made from switchgrass, was far worse for the environment than using ordinary gasoline and speeds global warming.

Those damn scientist!! They all agreed to spread out all over the world, live in sparse and austere conditions and do science everyday, just to trick everybody into joining the worldwide conspiracy to con and manipulate everybody with the Carbon Gods!
You know, this type of propaganda is not dissimilar to the carbon god propogandists...
It makes ludicrous and unfounded statements with no scientific backing and expects people to nod and agree without questioning your approach.
There are some devoted climatologist working on this issue, and while they don't have any consensus, the one thing they all agree on is that the scientific methods works better than hyperbolic bollocks...
I posted this originally on ScottfromOregons article, however after reading your article I decided to post it here as well.
I'll give you my perspective.
Our living space on this planet or the space In which people can exist in is a very thin layer around our very large planet. That space is only 3 miles up and 3 miles down. 3 up and you run out of oxygen, 3 down and you cook to death.
All of the polution created by man over the last 100 years is some where in that 6 mile space.
Think about going three miles from your home and think of standing that distance on end. That is the space we can live in..... not much. Now consider 10 million cars in any large city in the country polluting that space all day long. How much breathable air is left?
As far as the corn issue goes.. The majority of the corn grown in the United States is purchased by the US government in the form of farm substitives. The government forces farmers to grow corn at a rate that keeps up a reserve of corn big enough to supply the world with corn in case of a disaster, war etc. However we don't use it. Our Government then forces the farmers to plow the corn back into the fields to keep the price of corn up just as it does with all crops.
( That is more or less what they do with oil too, except they leave it in the ground rather than put it back in.)
There never has been and never will be a shortage of corn.
People that say the world will starve are people that stand to loose oil revenue if we switch to ethanol, not the farmers who don't like plowing their crops back into the ground because the feds wont let them sell it.

Patrick, I really like your treatment of this issue - yes it has become "dogma" for the masses. For a "hard science" look at the co2 issue, follow the link in my article to an intensive analysis by Art Robinson.
Hey if you like scary stories google and research this term "Peak Oil".
I don't think it can be denied that oil is a non renewable, finite resource.
Problem with all the solutions to our energy needs are we will expend an enormous amount of oil to transition to the new source. Non of which are currently as "viable"(?) as oil.
I believe we (mankind) will figure it out though before it is too late.
Your term "carbon gods" pretty much describes what we are seeing . Pretty soon a talking one . Won't be able to buy or sell without worship of Al Gores "demon" . . This is all happening so fast . And yes the masses are buying it all . Worse yet , our politicians are buying it and pushing it. Wrongly hearted they are , only to get votes . They are all pawns in a much larger game of a world government dominion over any and all FREEDOMS . The purposeful blindness and casting out of god made science facts ( like math and chemistry and global climate history ) is the real scary part . The masses so willing to buy into a new false religious system . Weird stuff . Good article . Bill
