Never before in the history of this country has a President had so many "secrets" that later slipped out as they have with G.W. Bush.
From the very beginning of his presidency he has tried to sneak stuff past the watchful eyes of the American public. There is most likely many more that he has gotten away with and no telling what they might be, once in a while somebody catches him at one of his little secrets.
Whether it be firing judges becuase he doesn't like them, or starting wars by fibbing his way into them or even his torture chambers he spread out all over the world so nobody could find them, he always has something up his sleeve.
This week in the news is his latest, which involves his presidential library, where he can display all his accomplishments he has made, to generations of people that haven't watched him try to rule the world and don't know about his little secrets. At least those accomplishments that he hasn't been caught doing something wrong to achieve.
The problem with it is in with whom and how he is raising the money to build it, which is estimated to be close to cost around $250 million dollars.
When asked at his news conference Thursday who had donated to the library, President Bush side stepped his answer by saying, "We'll look at the disclosure requirements and make a decision," noting that "some people like to give and don't particularly want their names disclosed, whether it be for this foundation or any other foundation. And so we'll take that into consideration."
As if Mr. Bush doesn't already know, there aren't any requirements for revealing donors. Lobbyists can contribute up to $200 to the library before have to report their donations; any other gifts can be kept secret, even if it's "foreign money" that Mr. Bush said he'd "probably take," and most likely did.
The House recently passed a measure that would require such a disclosure; however it's been stalled in the Senate. When it came up Tuesday, Sen. Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) said he would allow the bill to move forward ... but only if it took effect after Jan. 21, 2009. Whew that was close... George almost got caught again.
Who might those mistery foreign investors donors be ?
Most likely the same donor / investors that have repeatedly given large amounts of money to corporations and universities tied to George Bush for the past 30 years, the Sauds

In a book written by Craig Unger in 2004, House of Bush, House ofSaud: The Secret Relationship Between the World's Two Most Powerful Dynasties
(From Wikipedia)
Unger explores the relationship between the Saudi Royal Family and the Bush extended political family. Unger asserts that the groundwork for today's terrorist movements and the modern wars that have sprung up about them was unintentionally laid more than 30 years ago with a series of business deals between the ruling Saudis and the powerful Bush family. The Saudis received investments and military protection in exchange for cooperation on lucrative oil deals. The author claims that the result has been a shady alliance between "the world's two most powerful dynasties." Unger writes, "Never before has an American president been so closely tied to a foreign power that harbors and supports our country's mortal enemies.
(from The New York Times)
Companies with connections to the Bush family and the House of Saud benefited handsomely from this partnership, Mr. Unger contends. The financial ties deepened after the formation in 1987 of the Carlyle Group, an international private equity company whose partners and advisers have included the elder Bush; James A. Baker III, his former secretary of state; and Frank C. Carlucci, former secretary of defense in the Reagan administration. George W. Bush was on the board of a Carlyle subsidiary before he was governor of Texas. The Carlyle Group and its affiliates have done much business with Saudi Arabia, as has Halliburton, a company previously headed by Vice President Dick Cheney. Mr. Unger claims that ''$1.4 billion has made its way from the House of Saud to individuals and entities tied to the House of Bush.''
Mr. Unger also questions the Bush administration's motives in helping Saudi elites leave the United States in the days immediately following 9/11. Despite the restrictions on air traffic, the F.B.I. and other relevant agencies arranged for private aircraft to gather prominent Saudis -- including members of the bin Laden family -- from different parts of the country to enable them to begin departing the United States on Sept. 16.
VIEW POINT:
While I don't usually assume anyone of being guilty of anything on the opinions of others, I personally don't trust George Bush and I wouldn't put anything past him. If he hasn't taken money from sources that are questionable, he should at least be able to say he hasn't rather than try to wiggle his way out of another of his little secrets.
