Logical Premise, YouCan OnlyBeA Statist,If YouBelieveThat The Declaration of Independence Means People Are Born State Property!

ABORTION, AND WOMEN'S RIGHT OF SELF DETERMINATION!

One thing is certain, anything law gives to one, it must first take from another; this is especially true of rights. I thus have trouble collating the principles of Republican government with not only support, but advocacy of the subordination of life of an existing human being (citizen), to the life of one in the process of evolving to that state.

For arguments sake, let's assume that a Republican government is again installed, a government dedicated to the credo that life, (enhanced citizenship) begins at conception.

Following a Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v Wade, by Executive Order "The War On Abortion" moves into high gear, and The Department Of Pro Life is created at cabinet level. Pat Robertson, the Pro Life Secretary , working diligently with the Attorney General, chosen especially for his pro life stance, attacks the problem with gusto:

. Enhanced Protection of the yet to be born, becomes the first duty of government:

. Profiled by gender - subordinated to a fetus: Every woman at some point in her life, though unofficially, is subsequently deemed "potential criminal," and upon becoming pregnant is treated accordingly, automatically forfeiting her right of self determination, as well as privacy.

The war on drugs, poverty, terror, and Iraq etc. is now joined by the truly ultimate war, the war on abortion. Quietly lurking in the shadows, the unrecognized monster "unintended consequences" begins to stir.

As part of our war on abortion, we must know who is pregnant at any given time, and at what stage. The letter of the law must be written in compliance with the spirit:The baby, regardless of stage of development, once detected, must immediately be issued a * Pre Birth Certificate, the certification of: "Citizen Of The State." *(certificate of title, to state owned property) (there can be no crime, absent a legally recognized body) A registry of all women of child bearing age is mandatory, with periodic pregnancy exams and reporting requirements!

. What's the penalty for not reporting a pregnancy?

. What will it cost to maintain the Department of Pro Life, and the investigations into all pregnancies not carried to term?

It certainly stands to reason that the word of a woman and her doctor cannot be trusted.

And now the granddaddy of all unintended consequences, steps out of the shadows, becoming our worst nightmare: The moment we the people strip the woman of her self determination by commandeering her womb, we will have just assumed the responsibility for her welfare.

As with our prison system, when we convict a person of criminal conduct, and strip them of their self determination, we assume the responsibility for their well being. Their life is now literally in our hands.

The mothers womb now belongs to We The People! The welfare of the baby now paramount, common sense declares that the mother and child must receive the best medical care, nutrition, and constant monitoring.

So long as the mother is deprived of the opportunity to support themselves, that chore belongs to We The People.

. How is this to be paid for?

. Do we create a Pregnancy Medicare system?

. Although I am strongly opposed to this concept, can I be jailed for opposing the "will of the swarm" by refusing to pay the taxes that supports it.

At what point, if ever, do we allow a woman's God given right of self determination, transferred by the same law that prematurely created the Citizen Of The State while still in her womb, to be returned to her?

After all, if she is relegated to the status of second class citizen, in relation to an unborn child, she certainly must remain so for the duration of the time between birth, and the states declaration of the child having attained majority.

Suppose, despite our best efforts, the mother dies in child birth. As the result of being required by our law, to carry our baby to term against her will, we the people bear the guilt of her death.

If she has other dependent children, we must bear the responsibility and cost of their care, or, having successfully survived the womb, do they revert to the current status of merely throw away' s; juvenile criminals?

Law won't stop abortion now, any more than it stopped them prior to Roe v Wade. The preceding scenario, merely a snapshot of the monster created by revoking the right of self determination while pregnant, doesn't get into:

. Dealing with the civil disobedience that is sure to follow:

. The fact that offenders must be tried for premeditated murder:

. Do they spend the rest of their lives in prison, or, are they executed for the most heinous of crimes:

. Probation or not, after all, according to our law, they are murderers:

. Recruiting enough people willing to devote their lives, to being their sisters keepers:

. Compensation due the husband in the case of death as the result of our law.

At the turn of the twentieth century, the female population enjoyed few of the expectations espoused within the Declaration of Independence. Indeed, the Constitution was written, and the nation governed, by the literal interpretation of the term "men" as referenced in the Christian Bible.

Had the term been rendered "mankind" the broad species, rather than the narrow biblical interpretation, i.e "the man, and his wife, were driven out of the garden," when the Constitution was written, the world would be a different place today.

. Women did not even get the right to vote until twenty years in to the 20th century:

. They were barred by law from many professions:

. They enjoyed no say in the government:

. It was held that generally, any education beyond that required to serve their husbands, and maintain his family, was an exercise in futility:

. They were expected to endure terrible abuse at the hand of their husband, without that abuse being considered grounds for divorce.

I, a white male in my seventies, have no trouble remembering our abortion prohibition era.

. The back alley butchers:

. The journeys to Mexico of the poor, and the swank "vacations of the wealthy:

. The mutilation and death of the botched, twisted wire coat hanger attempt:

. Young girls kicked out of their home; sent away to "hatcheries," or trusted to the "compassion," of a church dedicated instead to punishment, etc. While great strides have been made, we have only begun to move into the age of the woman. Anyone who believes the women of the early 21st century, will return to the conditions they faced at the beginning of the 20th is living in a fantasy world.

Want to kill the "Pseudo Conservative" Party, (it's a thought) then alienate, rather than court the fastest growing power block in world history. It is key to breaking the power of the culture of violence: Islamic, Christian, & Judeo.

Commandeering a woman's womb, while making a fetus a citizen of the state, does not fulfill my expectation, of the consummate "Conservative" government. In my view, protecting, rather than abolishing a woman's God given right of self determination and reproduction decisions, and allow her and her God to work out the details, is a much better fit. The intent of your article is confusing to me. Whats the point? Are you arguing against conservatives and their stance on abortion?

As a self-professed LIBERTARIAN I find that you choose to ignore the Rights given to us by the Constitution. LIFE, LIBERTY and PROPERTY. Without LIFE there is no LIBERTY, nor PROPERTY. A conservative is one who takes a conservative or litteral interp. of the US Const. Preserving LIFE is part of that. Plus LIBERTY requires RESPONSIBILITY.

In this day and age with 50 cent condoms in every public bathroom in the country, free birth control pills at the Health Department, IUDs, Depo-privera, norplant etc. Why would a woman have an unintended pregnancy. It is failure to pre-plan pure and simple and to advocate murder as a means to correct your own failure to plan is insane. If the conception is from a means of rape, all ERs in this country will give the morning after pill to anyone willing, thus making the womans womb uninhabitable to the invasive sperm. Like saying I failed to pack a lunch today, but the little ole lady across the street packed one. I go and kill her to eat her lunch under the guise of self determination of my right to eat. Really? Do you really believe this crap.

Anyone who advocates abortion is a MURDERER plain and simple.

What about the freedom and liberty of the unborn? So what they cant vote yet?

If Roe v Wade is overturned it is because it is unconstituional. The US Constitution does not give the federal government the power to dictate medical practice, that right is reserved to the state un the 10th Amend.

You sound like a neo-conn with all of your exagerated fear tactics. Come on dude you really think that all that would really happen? I do because LIBERALS and STATIST want to BIG BROTHER you to death, not real conservatives or LIBERTARIANS.

If this topic was at the appropriate level, some states would allow abortion and others wouldn't, so as a 70 year old man, if you plan on any unplanned pregnancies in the near future you can move to one of those states, or even just visit for your murder vacation.

A simple change of title would completely get the point across.  "Don't vote Neo-Conservative".  If the people who get themselves elected by pandering to the church were able to get Roe v. Wade overturned, then many of these scenarios could very well come about (though not as drastic I'm sure).

You make a good point about all the birth control that is available, but when they stop teaching sex education in schools and teach that abstinence is the only way, then those methods of birth control could very quickly disappear.  Lack of education is a very large part of unwanted pregnancies.

The truth of the matter is, if you are going to create that law then it very much interferes with the privacy of the individual, and completely destroys Dr./Patient privilege.  There will definitely be taxes to pay for the welfare of those women who cannot afford to carry the baby full term.  And since there is no way that a Conservative is going to allow Nationwide Health coverage to pass, the numbers will be even worse.  That is the point of the whole thing.

As far as your comment about rape and the morning after pill, look up the statistics for the amount of women who even report a rape.  I don't have it in front of me, but I know it is very low.

There are a lot of good points in this article, some may go into extremes, but honestly I would put nothing past the government.  Especially a Neo-Con Government.

Did you just call me out and then write an article so illogical that I can't even read it without getting a splitting headache?

Let me explain it to you, Mr. Dennis. "Killing ... a developing fetus ... is wrong ... regardless ... of your position ... on government." A Statist would simply ban abortions nationwide, shutdown abortiion clinics, and subsidize the production of condoms and the 24-hour pill. I don't hold the latter as abortion since a large percentage of impregnated eggs never manage to attach to the uteral wall anyway, and the 24-hour pill if used properly prevents it. Birth control education is also important.

The rest of your article is fear-mongering bullshit, sorry to say. WHY you people think Statists create departments for every possible reason confuses me, but then I remember -- you are libertarians. You're COMPLETELY ignorant as to what statism is about. All you have to go on is what the Republicans and Democrats do.

So, three points:

1. Statist goverments would not have a "war" on anything. It's a drain of government resources better spent solving other problems. The idea that goverment solves nothing is based on the conundrum that in THIS government, solving a problem requires a "department". In a statist government, you would not have a "department of abortion" -- you would simply have a Health Department that has ALL aspects of health and health maintenance and it would NEVER run out of things to do. The more problems it solved, the more funding it got. The fewer, well, people get fired.

2. Abortion is never right, period. Women's rights to their bodies end as soon as the egg is implanted. If they didn't want to get pregnant, why didn't they use birth control? IF THEY DID use birth control and it failed, the only "moral" thing would be to terminate the pregnancy as soon as possible. And I have problems with that, too -- particularly since if people are careful, birth control doesn't FAIL. (the pill + condom + spermacide = PERFECT success rate, tested repeatedly).

If the woman was raped, yes, that's different.

3. Self determination as a right? THIS kind of lunacy is why statists look leerily upon the masses. You come up with the most ridiculous crap. A woman has every right to self-determination. WHEN SHE OPENS HER LEGS, AND LETS SOMEONE HAVE SEX WITH HER, AND IT CREATES A NEW LIFE, IT IS NO LONGER ABOUT SELF DETERMINATION.

When 90% of the abortions in this country are becuase of our popular culture glorifying sex, when most women get abortions becuase it interferes with their careers (?!?!) and when feminists have actually said that a mother has the right to KILL her own children until it exits the womb because the child is dependant on her body to grow, well .. if that's your conservative viewpoint, you're welcome to it. I for one don't want any parts of it.

You have good points here Logical, the only problem I have with a Statist society is that people simply can't be trusted.  On paper is all works very well, so does Communism, Democracy, etc.  But when you add people to the recipe of any government it all goes to hell.  Even if there are checks and balances put into place people would find a way to screw it all up.

Everyone talks about the "morning after pill" or Emergency Contraception, but they can be used up to 72 hours of possible impregnation.  Therefore, that pill, can very easily cause an abortion.

I am a little curious how you would feel, speaking from a scientific viewpoint, about carrying a child full term if early tests show a specific defect (ie down syndrome, Some sort of STD, etc.).  Defects that would cause the child to not live a normal life, and/or possibly die at birth or shortly there after.
