US Family Court Complicit in the Deaths of Three Children
Leatrice Brewer loved her children. A few nights ago she tucked them in bed. Then she called 911 to report that she had just poisoned them, drowned them and cut their throats. The tyranny of the family court system, fueled by billions of federal entitlement dollars, contributed to this horrible nightmare. by Jake Morphonios

I hope you feel outraged after reading this story.
Half of all marriages in the United States end in divorce. During the divorce process a family court judge determines which party will retain custody of the children and which party will have their custody rights severed. Approximately 80% of custody cases result in sole custody being granted to the mother, with token visitation granted to the father. This statistic illustrates that family courts do not usually care which of the parents is better able to provide for the child. They care which of the parents is female.
Judges consistently grant custody to mothers even when they have histories of drug use, prostitution or other crimes. The financial incentives to states for granting custody to mothers far outweighs any risks associated with compelling the children to stay with a questionable mother.
One such woman is Leatrice Brewer from Nassau County in New York. Leatrice had 3 children, Michael, age 5, Jewell, age 6, and Innocent, 18 months. This week, after administering poisoning to each child, Leatrice drowned them one by one. Once she had slit little Jewell's throat, Leatrice dressed each of her children in their pajamas and tucked their cold bodies in bed, all snuggled together. She then called 911 to report her deeds.
Was this woman crazy? According to many who knew her, she was a wonderful, loving mother (in spite of her 4 felonies, 3 misdemeanors, a history of assault and weapons charges, and drug addiction). "People can snap," said one friend who believes she was a good mom. Even the Department of Social Services had investigated Leatrice and determined that she was a "fit" mother in spite of her long list of felonies. Friends, judges and Child Protective Services all determined that the children should reside with their mother - no matter what.
It would appear that nobody had any reason to think that the children should live anywhere else but with their wonderful mother. Nobody could foreseen this miserable butchery, right?
Wrong.
Jewell's father, Ricky Ward, had been trying for some time to gain custody of his daughter. In fact, Leatrice murdered her children the night before she was to appear in court again. Apparently she decided that she'd rather kill her children than let them have access to their fathers. Ricky had tried several times to warn the family court that his daughter was in danger. After the tragic news of his daughter's murder, Mr. Ward said, "Whenever I tried to get my daughter, family court wouldn't let me. The courts wouldn't hear me out. I blame this on Leatrice Brewer and family court."
Innocent Demesyeux Sr., the father of Michael and Innocent Jr., said "She wanted to kill them. I let the court know that. But they took only one side. I loved them. I've been fighting for them."
Too late now, Mr. Demesyeux. It's too bad you were born a man. The US government doesn't believe that men are capable of being able parents.
The fathers of these 3 children had been deprived by the family court of the custody of their children for no other reason than they were fathers rather than mothers. No matter what they did to beg judges to give them custody, their pleas fell on deaf ears. This reason for this judicial tyranny is MONEY.
If you care to know why family courts in America refuse to grant sole or equal custody to fathers, you must read:
If the federal entitlement programs did not exist, then state governments would have less incentive to separate fathers from their children in family courts. Innocent and Ricky would not have been torn from their children by a judge, simply because they are men. If only our nation respected the supreme law of the land, the US Constitution, three beautiful children might not have been left in the sole custody of a maniac and slaughtered.

Family law has no Constitutional basis. The State should have no control over us because we are sovereign individuals. Asserting that there is a 'right' to two parents is unsupportable in Natural Rights theory which is the basis of American law.
As sad a story as this is, I was raised by a single mother and you miss a sadder truth. There are many men who don't want the responsibility and won't pay a single cent for their children or visit their children without a court order. My father disappeared for twelve years and never paid a dime towards supporting me. My ex husband wouldn't pay a cent of what he agreed to pay in child support and I was forced to take him to court. I would have happily shared custody with him if he didn't have a serious gambling problem that led him to steal money out of our daughters' savings . My question to you is, if you were on the bench and heard him accuse me of being an alcoholic, suicidally depressed, unfit mother, which he did, would you have given him custody over me without proof? The courts often do favor the mother since they are usually the primary caretakers before the divorce and are arguably more capable of the job afterwards. This, of course, is a generalization, but not altogether untrue. On the subject of rights, what about the chidrens rights. My ex told me outright that if I wanted child support, he would sue me for custody and I would never see them again. I had to revoke certain visitation because he would leave our daughters, who were 8 and 10 at the time, alone in his apartment without a phone while he was at work. Now I ask, who do you think my children should be with? And were the courts wrong for favoring me? Were my ex husbands rights violated to protect my daughters? After going through the system myself I feel that if I hadn't been the better choice, and there was proof that I wasn't, my children wouldn't be with me.
Jess,
I'm sorry your father made the mistake of not choosing to be involved with you. I know how you feel.
The answer to your question is simple. Equal custody should be the standard after divorce. Naturally, if a father does not want to be involved with his children after divorce, then equal custody cannot work. No child should be compelled to stay with a parent that doesn't want to care for him/her when the other parent is capable and willing.
Jake
The problem is you have a few bad apples..And the same people who called for the death of the nuclear family in years past are the same people who like to repeat the same thing over and over again irregardless if it is true.
In 2007 spring semester I made the mistake of taking a sociology course(Liberal indoctrination course)..Over half the statistics were flat out lie's(the people that did the study conceded as much not even 5 years) or gross missinterpritations of the truth. When I get home I will find the book and post the title so anyone interested in the mentality of the current regime will be well educated.
This is a horrible story but because the individual is a judge is not a free pass. We the people, after giving the Federal Goverment an opportunity to resolve the issue has the obligation and US Constitutional Right to use arms to resist that tyrant; even if it means killing that tyrant judge. I have been visited by the Capitol Police and Local Police and they all agree with me; however, they do not want anything to happen to the tyrant. Arresting me would violate my 1st and 2nd amendment rights. Please visit my website www.tyrantjudges.com or listen to my videos on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQ2KQhI8wRk&feature=related and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5V8yWWaV7c .
In Washington DC v. Heller, 554 US 290, the US Supreme Court ruled that we have arms to better resist tyranny. We all know that if we do not exercise our rights we will lose our right.
I have just been falsely accused, and now am facing losing everything. After years of being the primary care giver. My 10 year old son is having a terrible time of this. His tears, his anguish....
