The March of Liberty radio show is dedicated to views from a Constitutional perspective. The thunder of Thunder Radio is that grassroots sound we hear surrounding key areas impacting our daily lives. It is not the thunder from our words but the thunder from people like you and me who are fighting for their causes and clinging to the remains of an unprecedented experiment. The experiment was first brought to life over 220 years ago by 55 enlightened men and the results of their thunder are truly inspirational. Their experiment, the Federalist Republic, must be revived and the radio shows presented here will be but a humble attempt to shine the light on our world from a U.S. Constitutional perspective while continuing the march of liberty.
In each of our shows we will spend some time discussing a topic from its historical roots. Our first broadcast, this Sunday at 3pm EST, will begin this look at history with a simple question, Are We a Democracy? We'll discuss what a democracy while comparing that to the foundation the United States was established upon under the guidance of the men we call our Founding Fathers. We're going to be talking about the influences of history, definitions of terms, the initial focus of the Constitution and balancing that with where we have grown as a nation today.
There will also be a portion of the show dedicated to discussing current events, ideas, and rants both from the hosts as well asour listeners. Listeners will be a key part of the discussion in two major ways. Being an Internet based radio show gives us the opportunity to interact with both an open and active chat session for listeners during the show (you must register and login for chat) as well as the ability to have listeners' call-in with questions, insights on the discussion, and comments. This ability will mean the March of Liberty Radio Show will not be the hosts' show but everyone's show that invest time to listen, chat, and call-in. Your thunder, your voice, can be heard and shared with all listeners. We see these shows much more as conversations with a group of people interested in the historical roots and realistic solutions for today's challenges both in the United States and around the world.
A leading quote for inspiring the radio show, our web community (hearmythunder.org) and the Nolan Chart Column, Hear the Thunder, is from John Locke. "Education begins the gentleman, but reading, good company and reflection must finish him." As we launch the radio show gentleman is replaced by all interested people and the good company and reflection come from the listening audience. We hope you will join us this Sunday and then bookmark Thunder Radio's March of Liberty page for future use as we grow initially as a weekly show into many shows a week.
Future shows: 2/24/08 at 3pm EST: The Election Process Then and Now, 3/2/08 at 3pm EST: The Legislative Branch Tune in and participate starting this Sunday!
