Amend the Nolan Chart! Turn this site into Huckabee's Gates of Hell for Neocons! Thoughts on Freedom and Liberty in the Paul Era. And REALLY, Long Live Anarchy and Totalitarianism!

After my second article, "An Hypocrisy of Terms: Liberal and Conservative", the educational responses led me to wonder not more about liberal and conservative, but instead what exactly is a Nolan Chart1 anyways? I mean I started using this website to write stuff, but I thought when I joined it was just a Ron Paul fan club.

1[Nolan Chart]

IMPORTANT ASIDE: In another section of this website, there is some bewilderment why there are so many Ron Paul supporters (mostly libertarians via the Nolan Chart survey) writing articles here. I'll tell you why. When you Google search "Ron Paul" under News you get swamped with this website. So even if this was a more balanced site before with liberals, conservatives, and statists, there is now a Giant Rolling Snowball of attention fixed on RP. And some of the Snowballs have rocks in them that break windows every once in a while and turn into Colonists, I mean Columnists :)

So what did I decide after reading about the Nolan Chart? Well two things.

First that everyone should be encouraged to join here and share their views, not just us RP folks. We need more Democrats, Republicans, liberals, social liberals, conservatives, neoconservatives, Libertarians (oh wait, have enough of those), statists, neo-Nazis, Commun--ts, oligarchs, Constitutionalists, actual democrats, Greens, centrists, WHATEVER views, whatever people associate with. Especially since this is a website for liberty and liberty we should accept them, indeed welcome them with open arms. What a Great Conversation it would be, especially in the midst of the 2008 'election'! Gravel supporters, Obama supporters, Clinton shee supporters, and I'd plainly would love to watch Huckabee and McRomGulSon supporters to take open fire on us here. They might find this site to be Huckabee's "Gates of Hell"2 - for them, since we've got some powerful cannons of our own.3 Or as I revert for a moment to being unbiased, perhaps they will be able to convince me of their views, at least some of them.

3[Meet my superhero "I the Person" Destoy an Obama Fan]

Remember that Voltaire mantra that even though I disagree with what you say, I will defend to the death your right to say it. -- Fairly dramatic, after all its just words right? but the consequences of being afraid to speak = a grievous loss of freedom for all. And once government, that "necessary evil," causes this to happen, it can morph into Nazi Germany, modern-day C-mm--ist Ch--a, and the many modern day dictatorships/oligarchies that kill, enslave and oppress our fellow human beings all over the world. Would you like a little Musharraf with that anyone?

Loss of freedom can even lead to the downfall of the founding principles that I hold so dear in the US Constitution, it can lead to a state where events happen that are oh so Un-American. Guantanamo prison. The preemptive war in Iraq, yes, even the preemptive war in Afghanistan (yes they were sheltering Bin Laden, I know, but damn it all, it was still a sovereign state. No Afghans bombed us on 9/11.4). The future war we will launch against Iran. The dollar devaluing to the point that the Federal Reserve, that evil private central bank, stopped reporting M3.5 The Patriot Act6 and power grab by the executive branch. Abu Gharib and CIA torture cells all over the world. Loss of habeas corpus, living now in a state that if you are called a 'terrorist' you could disappear without a trace. What ever happened to the honest admission that 'one man's terrorist is another's freedom fighter'? By the definition in Sec 808 of the Patriot Act6, our Founding Fathers were terrorists to the bone, all of them, and should be shut up in Gitmo or who-knows-where without trial or, quite frankly, just put out of their miseries and shot to become organ donors.

4[Saudi Arabia: The True Cause of the Iraq War] i havent figured links out completely yet, 4+5 are reversed

5[Uhhh what the heck is M3? Obviously its the big bro of M1 and M2]

6 [Patriot Act text - bring your puke bucket]:(This text is lawyerish, damn long and hard to understand. Unlike the US Constitution, in comparison short and sweet where I just need a dictionary to solve my ignorance of the English terms I didn't learn in school.)

As I rave on, the point that I would like to make is caution. Caution in that you do not believe too blindly in that which you believe. You can be wrong. Always question. What if you wake up one day and find President Paul slamming the US into an isolationist box and the economy still crashes - or he was just kidding about that foreign policy change thing? No I don't believe it, but that's not the f------ POINT. Do you think the suicide-bombers are wondering if perhaps Jesus Christ is their saviour instead? Do you think the neoconservatives are thinking perhaps killing almost a million Iraqis4 is a little overboard to accomplish.... well, whatever it is they are trying to do? Does a starving man worry about little else besides food and the growling of an empty stomach? If you didn't believe America is in trouble, would you go out of your way to find information to make you accept or reject this notion?

Ok, on to my second decision about the [Nolan Chart] See the "The Advocates for Self Government" figure below.

I want to change it. Why?

First off, I like it. Although instead of the word "Issues" in the figure I prefer freedoms. The US Government is very simple. It restricts your freedoms, and by doing so We the People entrust it to creates a fairer place to live for all of us. (Although the evil in government - whether intentional or just due to human imperfection/emotions - is a sick tendency to only benefit SOME, not all.) After all, the freedoms of Warren Z's Excitable Boy (who grew up completely unrestricted and ate people), thieves, O'Reilly Factor, etc. should be restricted somewhat.

Then I looked where the Nolan survey placed me. Interesting. I am 100% for economic and personal freedoms/issues right now. Well - not really, I'm not a cannibal like the Excitable Boy. However, I think it does reflect my view (unless the survey is rigged?:) that the country does need to be assbumped quite a bit more north, which is probably where the Founding Fathers started at. Statist is a strange term for me, but the feedback on my prior article was right - the Democrats ('social liberals') and Republicans ('neoconservatives' for lack of more logical phrase like blinded war-lovers of Big Gov't :) - do NOT have much difference between them, their platforms are sacrificing freedoms at the altar of Big Government.

Old Nolan Chart

But like I wrote above, if I am at the top where are my Com-mies, where are my close neighbors the Anarchists? I want to hear their views too! Not that I won't disagree with most of them. And again if we are true to our creed of liberty, we need some space for them. The current chart has spaces where Republics, Democracies, and even Oligarchies can live and breed, but no room to ramble and roam for Anarchists, no space to lord over for Totalitarians. So I rewrote the Nolan Chart and replaced it with my Jake Chart (no need to change the domain name or the company name, its cool man.) See below.

So my second decision is to ask the Master of this Matrix, can we Amend the chart? How about 3/4 of the Colonists, I mean Columnists, to pass the Amendment? Or is this someplace where my Nolan Survey result of 100% Liberty doesn't mesh with the constrained state of Liberty of this website? Do you want to include 'extremist' political views of others or not? Damn it, liberty and room for all! Don't ban me, I just got here! Or I swear to GOD I will become an insurgent and blow you up!

How about a little affirmitive action. Require an equal number of articals from all 5 points of the chart.   :P :P

I 2nd the Voltaire mantra. Some of the most thought provoking articals I've read come from the Statists providing a counterpoint to the strong Libertarian lean of the majority of the published columns.

The media tries to pretend that Ron Paul does not exist. The media should not choose our next president. Ron Paul has a lot more support then everyone wants to admit. I live in AZ and was not able to vote for him in our Primary because of our state rules (that’s right I can’t vote for who I want). There have also been stories of his name being "accidentally left off the ballot" and people making up statements that he has dropped out of the campaign. THE GOVERNMENT IS AFRAID OF A CANDIDATE LIKE RON PAUL.  HE SUPPORTS THE PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTRY AND OUR RIGHTS. How could anyone really vote for someone who thinks that we should be in Iraq for the next 100 years? Then on to Iran? How many more people have to die for special interests? If we actually needed our troops in the U.S. we wouldn’t even have any available to protect us. They are all in other countries where they should not be. Bring our troops home and protect our borders. Why even waste anymore time? We do not have the right to be the police of the world nor should we. We our destroying our own economy by fighting wars that we can't win.

Our Government prints money out of thin air and borrows more from other countries then we can ever pay back which is killing us and the value of our dollar is rapidly dropping. Do you really think that the government brainwashed zombies and liars have done a good job with our country so far? Bush has been one of the worst presidents in history. You all fell for his BS. He used the emotions of our country after 9/11 to put us in a war that benefits him, his friends, and his family members.  Why allow them to throw us further down? Fighting wars that can never be won and wasting our hard earned money on their special interests. The companies that get bids to do jobs in countries where we are at war, they get over paid, and the money trail always comes back to people in the Government that are in some way affiliated with that company.

ACCORDING TO THE CONSTITUTION THE GOVERNMENT HAS NO RIGHT TO TAX US. THEY TAKE OUR MONEY AND USE IT FOR THEIR INTERESTS. THEY SPEND OUR TAX MONEY ON WHATEVER THEY WANT. Then they want to send us a small check to keep us quiet. Its time for us all to stand up for ourselves and fight this!!!

IT IS TIME FOR EVERY CITIZEN IN THIS COUNTRY TO COME TOGETHER AND STOP ALLOWING OUR GOVERNMENT TO TREAT US LIKE SLAVES. RON PAUL IS THE ONLY CANDIDATE THAT CARES ABOUT YOU.

Jake, what are ya smokin, man? As is obvious, NolanChart.com welcomes people of all political flavors. Your "0% liberty" claim against this site is completely unfounded, as evidenced by this site's publication of your garbage.

Hey "rp", we've all seen it now so stop with the spam ok?

Wtf are you talking about man?

This site has Statist writers... Ive never even heard of one before I found this site. I for one love the view from the other side, even if it means I come into contact with views that I don't agree with and frankly can't understand how people can think that way.

P.S. Go Ron Paul 08, I'll see you at the March on DC.

The problem is, most of those other types don't need this site as much as the libertarians -- they have a sufficient outlet through mainstream media.

Jake, if you want to write about your stuff, please do that without being rude and offensive to other people who also share interest in this website.

I also recently started to post comment, but looking at your piece is so full of awful language that would make people hard to understand even the systematic of your ideas.

Dear Herbi Rihiratu.
Its unfortunate you were offended by what I wrote.  The main themes were actually to protect freedom of speech and to never close your mind, always question, but the failing of mine was the piece mixes my thoughts with satire, and in hindsight I don't think the audience is getting this. I somehow thought 'signed with blood boiling' at the bottom would signal this, but I guess not. I think this websites great and the comment above is true - this is a great outlet for the libertarians who are feeling a little chained up these days. I've also been reading the statist and Logical Premise (are their other statist out there?) - and I respect their views/opinions as well. The swear words (written in at 4AM but at least I had thought to dash a few of them mostly out!), were intended in the same spirit. Our perspectives on what is and is not polite language are probably quite different.  At any rate, I respect your comment, and I hope you realize I would and do defend your right to say or write it.  If it makes you feel better, I am planning to try to write more scholarly in the future, just have to get some raving out of the way first. I just got started, this is just my third article in six years (the other two are on this site as well).  I miss writing.  However, ranting is going to be even harder to cure.
Regards, Jake
