Well, I guess my first attempt at an article wasn't very funny. I was planning on doing a series. The idea was to address the problem of incrementalism, something Augustus Caesar employed, whereby gradual changes are acheived very slowly. Maybe this isn't really the right forum for satire. I'm not sure. Anyway, after thinking about, I wasn't sure everybody would understand it as such, and it really wasn't as funny reading it as it sounded in my head writing it.oh well.

They also call it boiled frog syndrome. If you put a frog in a pot of cold water and turn up the heat ever-so-slowly it never notices the change in temperature. That's what we've had for a long time and now the temperature is getting hot enough to feel.

The metaphor I like is The salami technique. How do you feed someone a salami? You don't shove it down their throat all at once, you feed it to them one slice at a time.
