Ron Paul's VALLEY FORGE Are you disappointed on how the campaign is going since "Super Tuesday"? If you are, what on earth did you expect? It's time to fight - not time to mope!by Alex Wallenwein

Many member's of Ron Paul's revolutionary army are bummed out by his poor showing on Super Tuesdayand by the - in my view - GOP-coordinated McCain/Romney backdoor deal.
My question to them is: What did you expect??
Did you expect to simply sail into, and through, the mainstream-manipulated, voting machine-rigged, party machinery on eagle's wings? I hope not, because if you did, you might as well quit now. Things are going to get a lot tougher before Ron eventually wins.
Think beack to your grade school days when you first learned about George Washington's rag tag army and their victory at Valley Forge. Those guys had reason to complain! Winter time. Sub-zero temperatures. No shoes. Marchingwith rags around their frost-bitten feet. No winter uniforms. No blankets. No tents. Little ammunition. No food. Just miles and miles of frozen ground to march on.As could be expected, they did complain. Big time.
But they also won.
Never forget that!
Our country exists today because George Washington's men stayed steadfast despite overwhelming odds against them, and despite tremendous suffering. If we give up now, we aren't even worthy to ask for our freedom back, much less win it.
Ron Paul is not out of options. It is time, however, for him to leave the Fascist Wing of the Democratic Party that goes under the name of "Republican."
Staying within the GOP party structure has gained him national notoriety, lots of free airtime at debates, favorable mentions by a surprising number of TV and radio commentators, and a huge sack full of cash alongside a still plentiful cash cow that keeps on giving and giving - and that "cash cow" is us.
But now, it's time for Ron to just leave.
By pushing John McCain to the fore, the most liberal of all GOP candidates (save for the war issue), the party has abandoned the last pretense of being even in the extended neighborhood of "conservative" political thought. Romney, who during his campaign has pretended to bitterly criticize McCain for failing to live up to conservative values and principles, now throws his ideological paperweight behind him as if what he said before no longer matters.
Well, the truth is: it doesn't - and it never did. It was all mere window-dressing.
The fact that Romney was the one who quit (instead of Huckabee, who had far less delegates under his belt at the time) shows that the move was intended to destroy any potential chance that there might be a brokered convention.
If anyone had any doubt that this was a calculated move, today's out-of-the-blue endorsement put the final nail into the brokered convention's coffin. This was a GOP backroom deal of the worst kind.
I'm sure Romney got assurances to be McCain's first vice-presidential pick for agreeing to this move. After all, he spent millions of his own money to make certain that only an establishment candidate will be nominated. A seasoned businessman of his caliber (and with his connections) does not ordinarily make such a move without sufficiently hedging his bets in advance.
So, the GOP is now left with McCain and Huckabee still in the "race to keep Ron Paul out of the White House." Today's move has garnered McCain almost the entire number of delegates he needs to guarantee him the nomination. An Associated Press tally puts McCain's delegate total at 843, and Romney's at 280.
If all of Romney's delegates do go for McCain (which isn't likely, but a majority probably will), McCain will have the nomination locked up. Huckabee says he'll stay in the race until McCain has all the delegates he needs in his own right, thereby effectively acting as a backstop to make sure none (or at least as few a s possible) of the remaining delegates will go to Ron Paul.
We can all sit here and complain how "unfair" this process is, etc., etc., blah, blah - or we can do something about it. We knew going in that the game is rigged.
It is surprising in the extreme that Ron Paul was able to come this far. One of only three out of eleven left in the race, this late in the game, with more money than either of his Fascist-Democrat opponents. His failure to win Super Tuesday was not surprising at all.
So, now what?
The Revolution March on Washington is the next step. The speech Dr. Paul will likely give there will be a great time to announce his running as an independent. With all the momentum and excitement garnered by that momentous event, it can serve as a veritable flashpoint for the big prairie fire that is about to sweep the country.
With the donating capability we all have demonstrated, we can propel Ron Paul into the same spending capacity the two Democrats now have.
What is the point of all this?
The country must - at all cost - still have a real choice by the time the November election comes around. Between either Obama or Hillary on the one hand and McCain on the other, there is no real choice, no real "change." It will only be a change in name. Amnesty will continue as planned, as will the de facto merger between the United States, Mexico, and Canada under the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America, a/k/a the "SPP".
The war will continue as well, as will the total surveillance of the American public.
To any idealistic Democrat's most certain disappointment, neither Obama nor Hillary will stop either the war, the policy of foreign intervention, or the relentless spying on Americans. Democrats who will have voted for either of the two will be sorely disappointed when they find this out.
By the time of the next election, they will rebel against their only party structure - if there ever will be another election. After all, why have one, if all that'sleft in US politics is Democrat socialists with a (D) after their name, and Democrat fascists with an (R)?
That's why Ron Paul MUST stay in the game. That's why we MUST keep on fighting - just so that, at the time of the election, Americans can still look at three instead of only two candidates - and will be able to scratch their heads, saying to themselves: "Do we really want to keep this charade going - or do we want America back?"
Only then will we have a chance to see if Ron Paul "can win" or not.
Only then, if he really doesn't win, can we justifiably give up on his campaign to become our next president. But even then we will have no excuse for stopping our overall fight. The fight will just have to shift gears.
Trust me: Washington's army would have loved to be able to simply "have an election" to get out from under King George's tyranny.
We are unbelievably fortunate that we do have that option - and we need to thank Washington's rag tag army for having persevered so we can all its exustence - and for giving us a real-life, historical, examplef what "miracles"can be achieved as long as we never, ever, give up!!
There is no question that freedom never has been - and never will be - free.
The only question is: are we, is the country, worthy of it?

I think it's time to consider reaching a hand out to the Obama folks. A treaty of sorts. It is clear they face a battle of their own against the democratic political machine. Perhaps with the media's blessing they will suceed, but one should never under estimate a foe.
It is clear the republican party will not accept Ron Paul. Throughout the day (2/14), the republican minority in the House of Representatives argued to pass an act which will remove more liberty from the people of this land. They act without a concern in the world about what "Ron Paul " constituents are talking about. The media will ignore this blatant abuse that the republican political machine is doing to a portion of it's constituents for reasons I'm not sure I understand. The media will, however, shower Obama with millions of dollars of television coverage regarding his "fight" against the democratic political machine. If Obama's supporters recieve the same treatment Ron Paul supporters have when democratic convention time comes, I think we will share a lot in common with them. Open lines of communication and perhaps their desire for "change" is compatible with the desire for "liberty". I'll bet a lot of them really want what Ron Paul supporters want as well. When this comes to a head it should be interesting.
The Obama campaign? The Obama folks are more entrenched in the corporate controlled, two-party system than anyone. Obama and Paul share almost nothing in common, with the exception of their opposition to the war in Iraq, which at this point is almost a non issue. Obama wants to increase taxes, increase spending, bloat the size of government, ENHANCE the federal reserve system by borrowing more phony money. Obama is also pro-choice, whereas Paul is anti-abortion. Obama is pro gun control. Obama is for more environmental regulation, lots of it. Aside from the one issue of troops in Iraq, Obama and Paul disagree on the other 99 issues.
It really freaks me out that people would think we have anything in common with OBUMMER. The man is controled by Z. Brehzinski and the rest of the CFR maniacs.
How Dangerous is Obama?
This article proves that he's merely a tool for the world government and promoter of a tax to be paid to the UN to fuel its totalitarian control over us and to redistribute the wealth to other countries.
"A nice-sounding bill called the "Global Poverty Act," sponsored by Democratic presidential candidate and Senator Barack Obama, is up for a Senate vote on Thursday and could result in the imposition of a global tax on the United States. The bill, which has the support of many liberal religious groups, makes levels of U.S. foreign aid spending subservient to the dictates of the United Nations."
"The bill defines the term "Millennium Development Goals" as the goals set out in the United Nations Millennium Declaration, General Assembly Resolution 55/2 (2000)."
"In addition to seeking to eradicate poverty, that declaration commits nations to banning "small arms and light weapons" and ratifying a series of treaties, including the International Criminal Court Treaty, the Kyoto Protocol (global warming treaty), the Convention on Biological Diversity, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child."
An Obama presidency would be racist and a disaster for the USA.
In one of Obama's campaign offices, there is even a flag with a picture of a murderous Marxist dictator on it!

"MANAGUA, Nicaragua: President Daniel Ortega, who led the 1979 revolution in Nicaragua, says Barack Obama's presidential bid is a "revolutionary" phenomenon in the United States."
I'm thinking along the same lines as MISTERMR. To this point, Paul's campaign has been an ideological cloudburst. The young kids who are tied to both Paul's and Obama's campaigns--the real swing voters and the movers this year--can only handle so much ideology. They also look at people who can produce results and draw in numbers.
True, Obama has some major philosophical differences with Paul's campaign, but for all the "revolutionaries" in this campaign, read up on the great revolution. Remember, Hamilton (a centrist) and Jefferson (a decentralist) were both involved in creating the Constitution. They were united in one goal (separation from Britain and institution of sound government), though their ideological differences were huge.
Paul's campaign seems more like a college seminar, and Obama's seems more like a populist movement. Both need help, but combined could really introduce fundamental change to the system we have now. I don't accept that everything non-Paul is bad, as some indicate--that is too extreme, leading to an extreme result (few votes).
The anti-war, out-of-Iraq view is the largest voting bloc in the U.S. today. Obama (with Brzezinski as a key advisor) are ready to get out of Iraq, as is Paul. McCain is pro-war and more aligned ideologically and financially with Clinton (who is generally confused and more concerned with pandering than intellectualism).
Paul's supporters have to go somewhere, and I hear Obama courting them--even if they have to accept some socialism to get there. Sounds a little like the creation of the Constitution--some federalism and some states' rights. I hear the words from Paul, "the revolution is here"; but I wonder, what kind of revolution? We are not going to get 50% of the public voting for Austrian economics, when probably only 3% even know what a trade deficit is. A revolution is a practical outcome, one that is based on results, popular will, and compromise.
Even a purely independent run by Paul is prone to produce lackluster results. The anti-war bloc will be split between Obama and Paul. The other voting blocs will mass toward Clinton or McCain.
Really, I am tired of hearing about all the ideological claptrap surrounding the Paul campaign--the all or nothing approach that is touted by the ideological extremists. These folks had better study a little more about the creation of the Constitution, and the grand compromises that were made, before they use that document as the lash to beat the Paulites into submission. That approach will lead to nothing.
I've spent money on the Paul campaign, and I want a new direction in both foreign and domestic policy. If I get 50%, I'll be happy. The way things are going, I'll get 0%.
So here's a note to Ron Paul: please work on the art of compromise, or at least promote someone else who will. The "revolution" needs your support.
The "art of compromise" - or the art of selling out?
If you gave your contribution as an investment with an expectation of return, might as well kiss it goodbye. The good doctor is not a corporate CEO bound to make his investors a tidy profit. You're at the wrong address, my friend.
One thing about the Washignton army even having to fight a war in the 1700's, was because there WAS tyranny. These 2008 American FOLKS haven't had to live a tyrannical life induced by their government yet. Most of them haven't even read their history books.
These 2008 people won't believe until they "feel" the lose of their freedoms. Wire tapping and privacy rights don't mean nothing to John and Jane Doe Doe. I think that this Ron Paul revolution is just the trumpet set at the mouth. These American people are brainwashed and when the pinch is finally felt, and the butt of the rifle is bruised upon them, then they will cry "why didn't we recognize our fail?"
Until then the public cry will be...... "God save the King"
10.83% of the $65Trillion Worlds' Economy was lost in the global stock markets in January 2008 alone! That's $6Trillion and it is only Valentine's Day in February in America. I knew when I found this great Nolan Chart site and read it here in April that Saxo Bank predicted that our Dr. Ron Paul would win the Presidency they knew what was coming upon the world. I know that Dr. Paul did not call for this great Liberty "March" for nothing - Dr. Paul knows and has a great pulse on the financial world market. As he said "onward"! All for the Greater Glory of God. I absolutely loved your article, but I could not give you a thumbs up because my husband beat me to it!! Thank you so much.

I agree with you completely. I am an avid Ron Paul supporter. But I want results for America's future. And I don't care what it takes to get the job done. I like Obama. Yeah, he's a liberal but not nearly as much so as Hillary. Or even McCain for that matter.
The most important thing Obama brings to the table is his ability to inspire people, just like Ron Paul. I want Ron Paul to win. But there is something that I want even more than that. I want results. I want our troops home ASAP and I want special interrest out of our goverment. And I want to have all of these "spying" tactics reversed.
And you're right, I hate how when ever I make any kind of suggestion about compromising or reaching out and joining forces between Obama and Paul I get slammed by my fellow supporters for being unfaithfull. I am faithfull to Ron Paul. But my first priority is to the United States of America. Everything else, including politics is second.
The biggest complaint that I've heard from people whom I hand Ron Paul brochures to (aside from not knowing anything about him/Media blackout) is that a lot of people say that he's too stern. They love his ideas but they don't think that he could ever get anything done as President because the Congress will not be willing to make so many of those huge changes that quickly. There would be continued deadlock. And you know, to some degree they're right. I can't argue with them except to point out that more than likely Ron Paul would go slowly with his agenda. He's even said so himslef. If you're really concerned about getting things done but have an attitude of "all or nothing" it's just plain silly. You can't get anywhere like that. Yeah, you stood your ground. You never gave in. But the other guy wins and now he's in control. So was it worth it? Really?
Yes, Ron Paul and Barak Obama have a lot of differences.
But who cares? I'm sick of it. I want some good news for a change. And I believe that this would be the one thing that those in power would never expect or be able to control. Obama and Paul teaming up. Obama with all of the free media attention / attraction and Paul with all of the support and years of experience and knowledge. They have differences, but they probably would be willing to work through their differences to get things done.
The ability to compromise, YES COMPROMISE, has proven to work better than anything in this world in achieving your goals. From having a happy marriage to getting a new home or a better paying job.
Barack Obama is pushing a bill that will lead to the implementation of a UN global tax, costing the U.S. at least $845 billion dollars over thirteen years in the name of fighting worldwide poverty, as well as banning "small arms and light weapons".
Men like that cannot be compromised with. What would the "compromise" look like? A slightly lower UN global tax rate for US citizens? Are these the kinds of "results" you are looking for? Are you trying to get some Ron Paul supporters over to Barack's side so he can cement his lead over Hellary?
The devil thrives on compromise. How do you get people to compromise on principles? You first get them to refer to principles as mere "issues" (sounds far more neutral, doesn't it?) - and then make them give up ground, little by little.
That's how we got here. That's how our country got to where we now need Ron Paul or someone like him to straighten our politicians out. Actually, we need to straighten oursleves out by realizing that "progress" in the wrong direction is retreat - and always leads to defeat. We will not be defeated.
My comment did not infer vote for Obama, rather, I suggest we call for a treaty with the Obama people. I would rather debate the Obama people once the two political machines are disabled. We stand no chance in a three front war, republican front, democrat front and the Obama front is too much at once. I'm sure the Obama people would rather focus on less fronts as well since they're about to find out how vicious the democrat machine can be. Surely we can all agree that the existing and defending political establishment is our greatest foe. They have invaded and taken control of both parties and that must be stopped first. I have fiercely promoted Ron Paul where I live. I will not be lectured to about how dedicated one must be to fight this battle, I have been fighting for 22 years. Trust me when I say strategy is more important than emotional intensity. Peace.
The media tries to pretend that Ron Paul does not exist. The media should not choose our next president. Ron Paul has a lot more support then everyone wants to admit. I live in AZ and was not able to vote for him in our Primary because of our state rules (that’s right I can’t vote for who I want). There have also been stories of his name being "accidentally left off the ballot" and people making up statements that he has dropped out of the campaign. THE GOVERNMENT IS AFRAID OF A CANDIDATE LIKE RON PAUL. HE SUPPORTS THE PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTRY AND OUR RIGHTS. How could anyone really vote for someone who thinks that we should be in Iraq for the next 100 years? Then on to Iran? How many more people have to die for special interests? If we actually needed our troops in the U.S. we wouldn’t even have any available to protect us. They are all in other countries where they should not be. Bring our troops home and protect our borders. Why even waste anymore time? We do not have the right to be the police of the world nor should we. We our destroying our own economy by fighting wars that we can't win.
Our Government prints money out of thin air and borrows more from other countries then we can ever pay back which is killing us and the value of our dollar is rapidly dropping. Do you really think that the government brainwashed zombies and liars have done a good job with our country so far? Bush has been one of the worst presidents in history. You all fell for his BS. He used the emotions of our country after 9/11 to put us in a war that benefits him, his friends, and his family members. Why allow them to throw us further down? Fighting wars that can never be won and wasting our hard earned money on their special interests. The companies that get bids to do jobs in countries where we are at war, they get over paid, and the money trail always comes back to people in the Government that are in some way affiliated with that company.
ACCORDING TO THE CONSTITUTION THE GOVERNMENT HAS NO RIGHT TO TAX US. THEY TAKE OUR MONEY AND USE IT FOR THEIR INTERESTS. THEY SPEND OUR TAX MONEY ON WHATEVER THEY WANT. Then they want to send us a small check to keep us quiet. Its time for us all to stand up for ourselves and fight this!!!
IT IS TIME FOR EVERY CITIZEN IN THIS COUNTRY TO COME TOGETHER AND STOP ALLOWING OUR GOVERNMENT TO TREAT US LIKE SLAVES. RON PAUL IS THE ONLY CANDIDATE THAT CARES ABOUT YOU.
I am still not sure what you mean MisterMr -- a 'treaty' with Obama people? This would be like making a pact with the devil, which Dr. Paul has been able to avoid all these years.
Peter Duffield, you need to go back and read my first post. Obama has the "Oprah" crowd. Hardly any of them really know that he stands for Marxism and socialism and world government. They are simply been swept up by the 'star' quality he's been given by the media, for being supposedly young and exciting and good looking. (I don't think he's any of those, yech) Have you ever asked an Obama supporter what issues are important to them? What do they know about their candidate? NOTHING. His candidacy is a whole lot of NOTHING, with mostly focus on his oratorial skills and his blackness. Good grief! The media never even uncovers his racist ties to Louis Farrakhan or black supremacist church. He spoke at the Darfur conference in 07, so he would likely send troops there to keep order. He's a UN boy, for sure.
To compare Dr. Paul with Obama, or our campaign to his campaign, is frightening to me, in that it tells me you have no clue what Dr. Paul or Obama are about.
Obama is a tool of the elitists. He's new and malleable. He will do what his handlers tell him. He's not smart enough to do otherwise. He is NO Dr. Paul.
When you say Peter that you want good news for a change, this worries me. Because it sounds to me like you just want to be on a winning team no matter what that team stands for. IF that's the case you may as well just vote for McCain. As for teaming up because he's got all the press, remember, it's because he's a controlled candidate of the socialst kind. Because of who Obama is, he would never in a Million YEARS team up with RP. And RP would never team up with him as he is not about to sell his soul to the devil. This is not how you will get more press.
As for Dr. Paul going third party, he legally CANNOT so I wish all of you would PLEASE stop this utter NONSENSE about it. He would have to give up his seat in Congress which selfishly some of you don't seem to care about.
Also, before you attend any marches, please read page 110 of Andrew Napolitano's book "A Nation of Sheep". This should be a show of strength for the reform of the Republican party and the Paul candidacy which has been suppressed, not a "peace"march...and all confrontations with questionable characters is to be avoided.
Scott - I agree that Ron Paul will likely not win the nomination - I disagree that continued support of his message = 0% change towards a revolution of political thought. As frustratingly slow as the political machine is to change its course, there are many brilliant minds behind the campaigns of hundreds of federally elected officials. Your support for Ron Paul and his platform of peace, prosperity, and liberty, through your donations, voting, and ubiquitous internet presence will pay dividends in the future if we can remain a united political force constantly increasing in numbers. We may be only 3% of the nation now, but there are many tight races where our influence may matter, and the message of liberty, lower taxes, and a more humble foreign policy may well become more common in many politicians platforms, not just RPs. I'm sure quite a few individuals have been motivated to run for office themselves, effectively multiplying our influence in the representative republic process. Please do not sell out your support for this movement now for something less than the ideals you truly believe in. Barack may want to get out of Iraq sooner than Hillary of McCain, but he does NOT support a change in American foreign policy which would prevent another Iraq in the future. On the wikipedia article on Obama, it quotes him promoting unilateral military action in Pakistan against their governments objection and support of military options in Iran. He only wants out of Iraq because it is popular right now - and he is a populist.
The issue with a third party run is that one needs 80-100 m, a very good running mate, a polling of more than 15% to participate in the debate and in order to win, you have to get at least 35% in the election: it will be a very herculean effort. There could be a say 15-20% hard core support for Dr. Paul, but you need a very strong effort to take it to 35% plus. The issue is if Dr. Paul does not win (he coudl come second), he and the movement will be in the political wilderness, except if perhaps a new party is established, but this will also be difficult. I think Dr. Paul is a very good tactic. At the moment, it would not make any sense to go Indy, perhaps in a few weeks depending on circumstances. If it is between McCain and CLinton, there would be a big possibility for him from the conservative side (social and fiscal) of the GOP as well as Independents as well as the left side of the Democrats. In case Obama does not get the nomination or running mate, his followers will see possibilites in Dr. Paul, not all, but many. You do not have to select him as running mate, but could rather get someone like Chuck Hagel or Gary Johnson or Andrew Napolitano as running mate? Otherwise, get maximum delegates, go to RNC, not endorse if there is no brokered convention and then take control of the GOP after their massive loss in November.
I disagree that asking Ron to run as an independent is "selfish." His congressional seat means next to nothing if we lose the White House to yet another establishment goon. McCain, Hellary, and Obama alike will end the sovereignty of this country for good. After that, Ron's congrssional seat might as well be in the Russian Dumas or in the European Parliament.
Independent run or not - my understanding of how bad the corruption of the Demorats and Repukelickens has become is now at a new level. If it is possible in any way at all for Ron Paul to lead this country back from the dead than we need to do whatever that is.
The Ron Paul Revolution will move forward but at present it is much like the troops bivouaced at Valley Forge. No money, no supplies and low morale. I would liken the D.C. March to crossing the Delaware and surprising the Hessians. That will be powerful if it works out with many people showing up. I will. Make no mistake though, without fresh "troops" it will be difficult to take on the British regulars so to speak. We must gain recruits and build momentum. Many supporters of Obama are moved by the message of change, I think that is an opening. Write comments inviting them to better understand the fight ahead of them so they will trust us as allies and not enemies. Winning hearts and minds is not fun but bet your bottom dollar that General Washington had to do plenty of it. A small group of avid supporters can do much, but it cannot stay small forever or you've lost.
Okay, mistermr, where do they hang out? How do we engage them? What issues, other than war, do you think they would agree with us on? Do they realize what kind of "change" Obama will really bring? Doe they agree with it, or are they misled? Any ideas on that front?
Alex, I respect you and can tell you are a fighter and freedom lover. I wish there were more Americans like you. I submit that many Obama people are independent and will question their own candidates platform. Furthermore, when the Billary/democratic establishment unleash on him his admirers will be astounded and will wonder what is going on. They will wonder what is at stake that the establishment would rip into their candidate when everything he professes seems to be good.
Plant seeds of curiosity about the constitution, the role of the government, taxes, social services, whatever you want. You see, knowledge is what people need. We were drawn to Dr. Paul's message because of our instinct to think of these matters. Obama supporters are now open to think about these matters. Let them think, our ideas are right and they will reflect on them and see the truth. It is our only hope lest we get washed away in a new order that only makes things worse.
