McCain and Huckabee should drop out now! They have zero chance of winning the White House against anti-war Democrats. The only chance to win is to fight fire with fire.by Robert Werden

Let's face facts; the Republican Party is done for this election season. The polls show the country is anti war and the economy is crashing. The independent vote is going to the anti war candidates and we all know the independent vote can swing the election. The primary and caucus results show the democrats have a higher independent voter turnout this year than ever in history.
The key issue driving the independent voters to the democrats is the war. This ensures a victory come November for the Democrats if the Republican nominee is "stay the course" and will not end the war.
If the Republican Party wants to win they need to focus on ending the war and take that card away from the Democrats. After the war issue is removed from the equation the only thing left is the economy. The Republican machine can easily win the independent vote on that issue alone.
Now you cannot simply take McCain or Huckabee and change their stance on the war as that is a huge "Flip Flop" and the Democrats will use the "Flip Flop" card as a destructive argument against the Republicans. What needs to happen is a Republican candidate who has always supported ending the war needs to become the nominee. The way I see it, the only anti-war Republican still in the race is Ron Paul.
So if the Republican Party has any intention on keeping the White House, they need to face the facts that McCain and Huckabee have no chance against the Democrats this year and they should both protect the party and step aside. Endorse Ron Paul for the good of the party and the country.

I've been saying the same thing kind of. The only reason McCain and Huckabee are in it, in my opinion is because whoever is in control wants them Dems to have it. There is no way either one of them or Romney for that matter could stand up to Hillary or McCain. Only Ron Paul would have a chance against them, and a pretty good one to if the media treated him fairly.

I agree, and they need to emphasize that the Democrat Party is bluffing - they are not an anti-war party. In fact they seem to have only used their pseudo anti-war stance as an opportunity to bolster the party itself. Unfortunately, the Republican Party is also not an anti-war party and there are many years of recent history to prove it.
The Libertarian Party is a true anti-war party.
Obviously, Americans are not as anti-war as we would like to think they are :-(
I agree with Mike Foster....the Democrats are not anti-war and will flip-flop in a heartbeat. Some say O'Bama is more anti-war than Hillary and certainly he touts that (and anything else that might get him votes which is easy to do since he lacks history). However, this recent article on his foreign policy advisors says it all for me:
Fonta has an excellent point. Merely surveying the candidates' chosen advisors shows their true standpoints. I think there was an article here on that topic just recently.
