Everything We Debate Is a Red Herring Unless... Unless we fix the voting system and the vote-counting system, it's all just hot air - we'll never be free. We don't have much time.by Ivan from Oregon

"The ones who vote decide nothing; the ones who count the votes decide everything" Joseph Stalin.
The system in this country is not quite as overt as Stalin's - over the years, the "two parties" have developed "rules" designed to keep any undesirable out of the system. For example, they have made it next to impossible for a "third" party to gain ballot access. As the MSM have been gobbled up over the years by large NWO corporations, access to the media is also largely denied to all but the "correct" candidates. As the established Party functionaries, at every level, have become more and more entrenched, they have become drunk with power, to the extent that we see, in the RP campaign, more blatant abuses of the system than ever seen before.
This year, we have plenty of evidence, empirical, first hand and anecdotal, of the following:
1.Denial of access to voting by local functionaries,
2.Intentional confusion regarding polling places, hours, etc.
3.Omitting candidates from ballots - "we thought he quit"
4.Ballot-stuffing in polls.
5.Blatant breaches of chain-of-custody: ballot boxes arriving with slits cut into them, drivers carrying pocketsful of "seals" that are about as secure as a post-it note, etc.
6.Blatant non-counting, or miscounting of votes themselves, whether by hand or by machine.
At least one State, South Carolna, has in its Constitution language that says that voting shall be in secret but counting shall not be secret. I don't know if any other State has these provisions, but if they don't, they should. Clearly, count by machine is not legal in SC, but they do it anyway.
To this writer, the system is so broken and rigged, that I don't know why we bother with elections anyway. Of course it's part of the "bread and Circuses" formula of the Roman Empire and it's a good distraction for the zombies. The Party BS can be solved by our infiltrating them and slowly leading them back. Of course, this is assuming that the "D" party are not all airheads and figure this out.
The MSM propaganda machine can be broken by our "alternate media" as they take hold. The toughest one to fix may be State election officials, to ensure that all votes are correctly and publicly counted by hand, even if it takes several weeks to do it. Unfortunately, this last point may not be doable by this fall because it's certain to meet a lot of resistance from the entrenched beneficiaries of our current corrupt system. On the plus side, there is no "investment" necessary by the States (no machines to buy or upgrade). I'm sure that enough volunteers could be found in Ron's army to do the counting and scrutinizing.
We'll not have liberty unless we get on this and stay on it until we're sure we have real elections, and then stay on it forever. The price of freedom is eternal vigilance - Ben Franklin

I like that 'all that hot air'. What about McCain's eligibility as he was born in the Panama Canal? www.dailypaul.com/node/37509 widely discusses his ineligibility. Check it out.
Look at the changes the NASS has in mind (http://www.nass.org/). They are pushing for a "regional" system of Presidential primaries for 2012 and beyond. Their report states that "Republican and Democratic party leaders have signaled their willingness to consider the NASS plan". I find no mention of third parties in the document. The report implies that this is something that will be agreed upon in 2008.
I'm sure there are NolanChart readers more familiar with the NASS than I and I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on this.
