Topic: Presidential Campaign 2008
Update: Ron Paul "Money Bomb" Breaks $2 Million Barrier

The 5th of November organized flurry of donations to the Ron Paul campaign, which was expected earlier in the day to collect nearly $2 million in donations for the day, has exceeded that total at shortly after 2 PM Eastern Time. Up next: $3 million, with $4 million also possible.

Expectations are being exceeded by the grassroots effort culminating in today's "money bomb" of donations to the Ron Paul campaign. Shortly after 2 PM Eastern Time, the campaign reached the $2 million mark with nearly half the day remaining.

Some visitors to this website earlier today predicted that the $3 million mark might be topped today. That possibility is becoming more and more likely. Of course, in order for it to be reached, the pace of donations will have to continue at the same rate throughout the day.

After some solid donation strength in the wee hours of the morning, the pace really picked up at 8 PM Eastern Time as this graph shows. Since that time, the donations have proceeded at an extremely steady pace. Between 8 AM and 2 PM the graph shows an almost straight line going up at a roughly 60° angle. If that pace holds for another six hours, Paul's army of contributors could easily sweep through the $3 million barrier and be knocking on the door of $4 million.

It is becoming increasingly likely that the major media will be taking notice. Already the Washington Times and the National Ledger have posted articles showing they are watching the pace of contributions. The former is simply reporting it as straight news (albeit minor news from their point of view), preferring to withhold comment until the primaries. On the other hand, the National Ledger is attempting to debunk the whole thing, saying that it doesn't matter how much money Paul raises because his message won't play with the voters.

But that's really what all this about, isn't it? It's about finding out what the voters will accept and support rather than merely speculating about it. And for most Paul supporters, it's about doing what they can to take back our country from a government which thinks it's the next coming of King George III.

Ron Paul has alreadt raised more 6 weeks into Q4 than was raised in all of Q3. So much for the "long shot" label!

"Some visitors to this website earlier today predicted that the $3 million mark might be topped today. "

If that happens, I understand, John Kerr's three-million-dollar internet record will be matched or surpassed.

First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win.

Dr. Paul is curing many Americans of their political apathy, but causing a nasty case of gastritis to many GOP politicos. Isn't politics fun!

Ron Paul is clearly a "top tier" candidate. In America today, a candidate who supports the war in Iraq will find that he is in the minority and it is that candidate that is the real "long shot". If you have any doubt that Ron Paul is indeed a "top tier" candidate, please visit my website at www.thecaseforronpaul.com and judge the evidence for yourself.

I sent $100 to the Paul campaign today, and you should too! This money is an investment in the future. He will save each of us thousands in the long run! All the other candidates are either freaks, liars, thieves, murderers, and opportunistic yes men, and one, yes he/she.

I donated the minimum amount suggested ($100). So did tens of thousands of other real Ron Paul supporters. Next time, wouldn't be surprised if it is hundreds of thousands.
