Should The Ron Paul March On Washington Be On June 21, 2008? Now that Ron Paul has called upon his supporters to organize a march on Washington to show our numbers and proclaim the revolution, the question has emerged as to what date we should choose. Here's why I think it should be June 21st.by Walt Thiessen

Yesterday's video message from Ron Paul to his supporters has provided a jolt of energy to what was becoming a flagging campaign. The imaginations of his supporters are being stirred again, and the revolution is moving into its next phase.
The question that is on everyone's mind is this: what date should the march be? I propose that it should be June 21, 2008. There are a number of reasons for this:
(1) First and foremost, it's the day that the Constitution went into effect. On June 21, 1788 New Hampshire became the ninth state to ratify the Constitution. Since Dr. Paul is so strongly associated with strict Constitutional support, it seems most appropriate that his rally be held on the date the Constitution took effect.
(2) June 21, 2008 is a Saturday. It's going to be important to make the march occur on a weekend day, so that people from far and wide can actually attend it.
(3) I oppose holding the march on July 4th, as some have proposed. The reason is that Washington, DC on July 4th is a mob scene. Also, July 4, 2008 is a Friday, and anyone who has ever been in DC on a Friday knows it's not the best day to be there! Even if we got over 1,000,000 to attend, our march would be dwarfed by the millions who descend upon DC each July 4th to watch the national fireworks. The big impact we're hoping for would almost certainly be ignored by the major media, because it would look like a drop in a much larger ocean. There are rallies of one kind or another held every single weekend during the Spring and Summer in Washington. Most are very small. June 21st would likely be a relatively non-competitive day to try to gain attention for what we're doing, making it easier for that attention to be gained.
(4) It probably will be easier to organize a late-June march and rally than one earlier in the Spring, because there's an awful lot to do in any case, including getting parade permits, meeting the legion of requirements that DC places on rally organizers, figuring out housing and transportation logistics for people travelling in from all over America, etc.
(5) The third weekend in June is the first weekend after school lets out, so there will probably be lots of families and kids in DC that day. The potential audience could be excellent.
(6) A quick Google search showed me that there are no other major rallies scheduled for the weekend of June 21-22, 2008 in Washington.
Whatever date we pick, we need to pick the date soon. And we need for the campaign's best grassroots organizers, the ones who organized the money bombs and the trips to New Hampshire and Nevada and everything else to take the bull by the horns and organize this March For Liberty.

Great reasons for June 21st! I especially like the idea due to the 220th Anniversary of the Constitution going in to effect. July 4th may initially sound good but you are right, we'd be lost in the stream! Thanks for presenting a solid date with sound reasoning. I guess its up to the campaign to now announce a set date and soon! There's not much time yet it can happen! Thumbs up and socially bookmarked!
Looks like someone is already on the case and organising a march for the 7th June....http://www.ronpaulmarch.com We need to all pull together and decide on the best date so nothing gets diluted....
Great idea. I agree with you that a July 4th march would be dwarfed by the crowds of tourists. I also agree that this should be a well organized event, and that takes time.
This will be awesome. I will be there, and will take every opportunity to spread the word. June 21, 2008 will be a great day to show our support for Ron Paul, and show our love for this country, and there is no better place to do it than Washington D.C. Let's see how the media does at marginalizing this.
Summer session starts June 9th and goes to July 11th. 2nd summer session starts July 14th and goes to Augusust 14th. (this is for the west coast at least)
If we schedule during college breaks, more people will attend. Summer school is tough, and personally, as much as I want Dr. Paul to win, I can't forfeit my expensive education.
We should look to schedule the last week of May. More college students will be able to show. And if we want a big turn out, we should it make it possible for everyone to attend.
"If we schedule during college breaks, more people will attend. Summer school is tough, and personally, as much as I want Dr. Paul to win, I can't forfeit my expensive education."
Your education will be even more expensive if Paul gets elected and dismantles the Dept. of Education.
I think June 21st would allow sufficient time for planning, and given its historical significance and occurrence on a Saturday, it would be symbolic and convenient for most. Having a non competitive date so that the event is not drowned out by the media is also important, although the media will portray what is beneficial for them and their constituents. With that said, the media will be the key. Two important considerations:
This MUST be a peaceful protest. One single image of any participant fighting with police, even if they are the one's to inspire the violence, one single image of seemingly foul play could be used to negatively exploit the goal of the protest. Therefore, it must be known and made clear in the framework of the organizational structure that this MUST remain a passive and peaceful protest even when (because we know they will) the police inspire violence, behave unlawfully, and violate our rights.
Use the media against itself. Before the main event we must create smaller media worthy events to create a buzz and a stir outside of the Ron Paul circle so that support for the march will become a support for our civil liberties, a support for change in policy, not merely a support for the presidential candidate. If, we can create a buzz that goes beyond party lines, if we can create a march that is more than the candidate "Ron Paul", we will truly be accomplishing the goal at hand. We need retirees, families, democrats, republicans, popular personalities, musicians, actors, all races, genders, sexual preferences to be in attendance. This march must be made to be a significant date in AMERICAN history. It must be a climactic manifestation of grassroots uprising that everyday citizens who may not spend the time to make themselves informed feel comfortable coming to. Basically, the event must be popularized so that it transcends the classification of protest and becomes a true "march". Media spectacles leading up to the event could help create a sense of security and familiarity leading up tot he event.
There is a debate about the date currently, some say April 15th, some say June 7th, some say June 21st.
Agreement on the date is critical. Can someone build a website that will allow supporters to vote on which date works best? I personally agree with June 21st.

I'm in full agreement with June 21st, let's reinstate the Constitution back on its rightful day. God bless Ron Paul and all of us. Let's make sure that history never forgets the Constitution or the name Ron Paul, the man who began the journey that we will carry as Americans to put America back on track as a Shining City on the Hill!
Long Live the Ron Paul Revolution, Long Live the Constitution, and God bless the United States of America.

Hey Charles, what makes you think that sticking a big fat bloated central planning government agency on top of education is some how making it less expensive?
As far as a date is concerned there should be a discussion on that and a vote and the one with the most votes will likely have the most people in attendance. I would be willing to clear my calander and return to the United States to attend that kind of a show.
I've also seen Memorial day suggested. Although it is a Monday it is a long weekend for 90% of Americans. We could simply do it Memorial day weekend. (May 26, 2008) I do agree one way or another that whatever we choose should have some symbolic referrence.
The march must be PRO liberty. The march must be PRO freedom. The march must ADVOCATE RATHER THAN PROTEST.
Avoid affiliation with ANTI anything.
The Military Commissions Act of 2007 legalized the use of the military (and The National Guard) for arresting peaceful protestors and civil disobeyers.
If the march resembles a protest or any possible kind of civil disobediance, any media coverage will instantly be spun to reflect negatively on the cause.
I agree; create media buzz leading up to the event -- buzz about a "rally." THIS IS NO PROTEST. THIS IS NO UPRISING. THIS IS NO REVOLUTION. KEEP THE SPIN-MACHINE OFF OF THE RALLY.
June 21st sounds like a reasonable date.
Expect the media to start jumping all over the "projected" lack of ability and failure to rally a large group. We will get publicity about how unpopular our message will be until the people appear by the thousands.
Just a great Joy to be a Ron Paul Delegate in Wahington St., I agree with June 21st Date, Supporters need time to plan a trip, I will be there, all five in my family, I believe we will win this thing, American's we have to stand and say No to the NorthAmericanUnion, You will not rewrite a New Constitution to suit the fiscal needs of Corpratism, This our last chance, It is not the time to be timmid, and think," Everything is going to be fine" We have to act now this is the time, Stand in our nation's capitol with Ron Paul and "Say enough!! We see what you are doing and we are not going to take anymore" We want our Country Back. Ron Paul 08
Seriously, I think you hit the nail on the head for all the reasons you stated. June 21st makes the most sense! It also appears to have the most initial support as evidenced by this poll [link edited for length]
It's a great idea, but you are giving 4 months notice to everyone. Not just supporters. Everyone. They will be ready to stop it. Hell, by then I'm sure there will be a law against organizing for anything in d.c. They don't really care if you are gathering to protest or gathering to promote purple marshmallows, gathering is the issue, and they don't like it.
Love the enthusiasm, but I have a question and a suggestion.
Is the rally to show support for Ron Paul the politician, or the message of peace, liberty, and limited government?
Ron has said all along that his campaign is about the issues, not him. Planning a rally after most of the primaries and after McCain has been all but annointed stikes me as odd. What are we suggesting that congress do following our Ron Paul rally? If it were a broader rally for peace and liberty - it might draw an even larger crowd. After all the primaries are said and done, roughly 1 million Americans will have voted for RP - thats just asking them to register online (5 minutes of time), and show up to their local polling station (maybe 30 minutes). I would suspect only 1/20 or 50,000 would make it to DC for a rally (I think a generous estimate). Is this enough support to "shake things up"? Don't get me wrong, I'm checking my schedule now and strongly considering the trip, but despite what William said above, if we got the anti-war, anti-taxes, and pro liberty movements all together at once, it might be HUGE.
As much as I love RP, you have to remember that this is bigger than just the one man.

Personally, I think of it as a March For Liberty, and that's why I concluded my article with that phrase. However, I also don't think it makes much sense to leave Ron Paul out of the motivation and purpose of the rally, since he has become the defacto current figurehead of what many of us call The Revolution. This rally and march doesn't have to be about Congress doing anything specifically as part of the march. Rather, it should be about rallying the American people behind the ideals of liberty and the restoration of those ideals in our Constitution and in our political and legal system.
I agree with others who have said this should be a "pro" rally rather than an "anti" rally. It should be pro-liberty, pro-small government, pro-Constitution, pro-peace, pro-defense (rather than offense), and pro-people.
The only disagreement I have is with the gentleman who said that the rally should not be about revolution, as if revolution were a negative. It is not. Revolution is about changes in thought processes and a reevalution of accepted ideas and ideologies. Rebellion is about armed conflict against tyranny that refuses to submit to revolution. Revolution and Rebellion are, in some ways, opposites. I don't know if it's historically true and accurate, but Benjamin Franklin is often credited with having said that revolution as a concept comes from the revolution of the planets. Just as the earth revolves around the sun, so also ideas revolve and evolve into new ideas, about better ways for people to organize themselves politically, socially, culturally, and economically.
The American Revolution was about self-government rather than government from across the ocean. The new revolution is about smaller, Constitutionally-based government rather than bigger, more-intrusive government. Both revolutions were and are pro something rather than anti something.
I agree that the date should be arrived at by consensus. Let's not start announcing a date prematurely since several of us will have valid reasons for our preferred time. Announcing multiple dates will not help us, so let's hear good suggestions until we can agree upon a good date.
Like others have already stated, I want to emphasize the need to promote this event as a positive acclaimation rather than as a protest or "march on Washington D.C.." Remember that much of the media and a great many commentators have been quick to wax negative on the efforts of Congressman Paul's supporters, and I suggest we discuss the event with this in mind.
As for what to call the event, we can all come up with ideas. Words like acclaimation, celebration, and gathering are positive or neutral. I really like "Rally" (thanks William) but I'm concerned that some rancourous personality may spin the militaristic connection.
Still, I refuse to be intimidated into inaction and will gladly walk alongside you all in peaceful fellowship on the day we select.
"Hey Charles, what makes you think that sticking a big fat bloated central planning government agency on top of education is some how making it less expensive?"
I mean, it's paying for my education. I very much doubt getting rid of that is going to make my education cheaper because I'm not paying anything.
By the way, while April 15th would be a symbolic day for you guys, as a neutral observer I think it's a bad choice. For one, as much as you hate the IRS, you still have to file your taxes, and a lot of people are going to be busy rushing to make that date. Also, it's only in about a month and a half, which sounds like a lot of time, but probably isn't quite enough to plan a march of the magnitude you want.
I'll be able to bring my whole family on June 21st, and when you think about it having the march/rally on the 220th anniversary of the constitution has alot of symbolism. We could probably attract alot of people from both sides of the political spectrum and hopefully wake up millions of Americans.
This should be a march/rally for ALL Americans, regardless of political/social/religious beliefs. If you don't fight for your rights, then you will lose them. Stand up, and March on June 21st, 2008.
I think April 15th (tax day) was already decided. At least by the website RonPaulMarch.com. They're already collecting funds for it and I think it might be connected to the meetup groups. I don't know. We should all get on board together for one date though.
I have been watching this for the past year and I am truly encouraged by the response Ron Paul has been getting despite the unfair practices of corporate America. We must come together at this time and assist people in believing in themselves enough to know that this country belongs to them and not special interests. There are so many that do not have the time to truly understand the message.
I agree with Paul in that we are the leaders here. It is up to us to make this a success. Not only should we specify the date (June 21 is my preference) but the platform and speakers and sponsors and the organization around the message is crucial. Everything will be replayed, scrutinized, and ignored as much as possible. I don't think it will take less than a day. I believe we should go for the entire weekend.
The platform should be a platform of truth. We must call out our reps to restate their oath to defend the constitution in public in this platform and expose those that refuse to do so. We can decide to have this EVERY YEAR if we so choose. This will allow for the message to remain central to every candidate in the future.
I call on the professionals, the laborers, the artists, the historians, poets, the video makers, the authors, musicians, lawyers, veterans and students that have spent the past year generating this revolution to contribute not just money but your gifts and talents. It is not over.
We must rally to this cause. We must enlighten and educate to the world that we are the leaders of the free world. That we do govern ourselves. That we do live in a free society. That our voice does matter. That we are in control of our nation.
This is our time to write the truth of today which will be the history for future generations to come. We will succeed.
You can never please all the people or make it convenient for them. There will be problems with any date you choose. Some people will not be able to attend.
Definitely June 21. For the weather, if for no other reason. Washington is hot and humid and miserable in July. And the April 15 date, aside from its being on a Tuesday and on a day on which a lot of people are trying to complete their tax returns and get them in the mail, is during Washington's rainy season. The Mall will be soggy that day.
I think we need to communicate with the ronpaulmarch.com people.
The teams are pulling in differing directions. It is not only the day that needs to be settled, but many details such as lodging and travel, the route of the march, etc. We need the official campaign to get on board and bring us all together. The web sites need to be linked to an official site so that the count can be verified. IMHO.
June 21 is best in my opinion as most folks can make that weekend time. This old man will be there, however it works out. But, I want to see one million or more. Nothing less will make the legislators react in a positive manner. Heck, they might even read the constitution.
I don't know about the logistics but I'd prefer April 19, it's on a saturday and it's on the anniversary of the what should be our biggest holiday, the day our ancestors reached down and grabbed their balls and shot back.
http://www.willowtown.com/index.htm
BUSES... we are going to need lots and lots of buses, and a website to co-ordinate buses from every state for anyone wanting to goto the rally. Our ability to bring people to this event will drive fear into our opposition. Any celebrity types that you can get will be a huge boost, and celebritys willing to perform at the event in particular. The blimp is a must. We will need at least one big stage and at least one huge tent. Also, we have to get porta-toilets setup around the national mall. Plan to come a day or two in advance. Parking is available at the many metro(light rail) stations throughout the DC area, and the national mall is a short metro ride away.
Advise people to bring:
-food & water for 3 days
-camcorder/camera
-poncho/umbrella & towel
-tent/camper
-white shirt or sash
-toilet paper
-pepper spray (DC is a rough town), but NO WEAPONS.
Time is our friend. Many offline groups (older hardcore patriots that have been in this fight for years when no-one wanted to listen) are just now getting the message that there really is a movement afoot. Learning it is ok to stick their heads out of the foxhole again. Not even half the movement is energized yet. For the younger, I vote for after school is out. As for the MSM, They are going to ignore us anyway. If a million show up they will say it was only 100,000. This is for us. It will be recorded and shown on the internet for proof it happened. Weekend is better than weekday. Only hardcore are going to show-up anyway. I think the later in June the better. There is a lot of canvassing to be done in the northern states when the weather breaks. No-one wants to stand with their door open long enough to listen when it is 0 degrees. Let's not get in a hurry. Time is our friend.
We need to simply organize an online vote for this date! Ronpaulmarch.com seems like a logical place to host it. We will NEVER sucessfully organize if we do not act democratically, and quickly. The debate about a date will never end unless some authority figure tells us all when to meet, or when we decide to use democratic means to come up with a date we can all get behind.
I agree with everything that has been stated. The fact that it would be held on the day of the constitution went into effect is a great idea. Also we can't wait, the sooner the better. June 21 first is my birthday, what better day to celebrate my birthday then to march down Washington and support the new president... RON PAUL 2008!
somebody needs to set up a "vote page" with all the options for a date and give i wk for vtes to be cast ...like the AOL poll. I submit that we call it the "Ron Paul March for Liberty" and start setting up caravans from major cities along the Interstate corridors, I-10, I-20, & I-40 with rallying points in major cities to join in on cue from west to east ... all heavy with signage and media exposure all across the country and all converging on the greater DC area within 48 hrs of March day. Example of signage of lead vehicle "DC Here We Come!" , "Converging on Washington" , "Ron Paul Liberty March", "Meet Us In D.C. in Our March for Liberty", "Follow Us to D.C. to March for Liberty". Lots of cars, p/u trucks, campers, RV's, motorcycles all traveling in a caravan with extra drivers/passengers to go straight through on a "slow roll" across the USA. With the use of cell phones communications from the front to the rear will be like never before. This everybody has support for whatever reason that mightcome up ... breakdowns, fuel, fatigue, potty stops, food, publicity, ete., etc., we could even arrange for police escorts through major cities, counties, states, or whatever. Damn ... I'm gettin a woody just talking about this ...
Good date. Let's make sure that the event is organized by the grassroots not the official campaign. The campaign has shown that is not as efficient as the grassroots. The staff at the campaign now are the gatekeepers and they are isolating Ron Paul from the people. On the other hand there is free flow of information among the grassroots.
Charles, the federal Department of Education doesn't pay for ANYBODY'S school. It's a bureaucracy that actually has a net effect of costing schools money, due to unfunded mandates.
If you are attending a public school, your local property taxes, none of which are managed by the DoE, are paying for most of your education.
And, may I say, your civics teacher should be fired on the spot for the fact that you are not aware of this.
YES!!! June 21st is perfect!!! Let's Make It Happen!!! The whole world is watching this election and America very closely during this Presidential race, Let's make them proud!
History will know the truth! It is up to us to make it Today! Let's leave something that our children and all future generations some to be proud of us for!!!
The time is NOW!!! And we may NEVER be given another golden opportunity to save our country AGAIN!!!
We have gotten our 'Marching Orders' from President (to be) Paul! (President Paul, has a nice ring to it doesn't it, like the ring of Liberty!!!)
Hope to see ALL Freedom Loving people in Washington, DC on June 21, 2008!!! A Day That Will Down Famously!!!
PEACE, FREEDOM AND PROSPERITY - RON PAUL 2008!
Restore the Republic is already doing a vote for a date, and Ron Paul said on Alex Jones' radio show that he preferred Memorial Day, or July 4th. While I like the idea of the symbology here, the traffic and the difficulty reserving hotel accommidations will be murder. Most places will be booked up then, for those who need them.
So, Ron Paul HQ is going to announce the date soon.
I think the 21st of June is excellent for all the reasons mentioned plus the fact that it is also my birthday and the my parents' anniversary. I couldn't think of a better thing to do than to spend it in DC listening to the only man who should be president.
I agree that June 21st is the best day. Holiday weekends are horrendous for travel and our event would certainly be lost in the shuffle on either Independence Day or Memorial Day. I think the symbolic date of the Constitution anniversary makes it an excellent choice.
I applaud with all my heart the idea of a massive march. I will be clear and honest. I am not an American. I am an Irishman living in the Caribbean, but I have supported Dr. Paul, the 911 Truth Movement and have been astounded at the changes and dangers to American society in the last 7-8 years. It grieves me. I do what I can from a distance. I love America (for some reason that is not clear to me, and really do worry about what is happening there)
The march has to be done carefully and YES the date is important and the media attention IS important, allthough I suspect they will try to ignore it, suppress it or ridicule it.
I believe it should not be on the 4th of July as it will be lost (or deliberately confused with other events by the MSM).
The size (numbers attending) will be the factor that gets media attention and the general behavior of the people. If the march is enormous and is not reported by the MSM, then let's be clear, for the majority of Americans it will not even register. But this is not just for media consumption.
It is: 1) to wake up the country 2) to really know your strength because (we) have been up to now suppressed by the MSM and suspect voting methods. 3) get the attention of likeminded leaders and yes some politicians who have been sitting on the fence for to long, and to stir them up to show some AMERICAN SPINE!
GOD ALLMIGHTY BLESS AMERICA, HER PEOPLE AND BRAVE LEADERS WHO ARE NEEDED MORE THAN EVER!
I say to you all, as a friend in a foreign land, STAND UP AMERICA!
SHAKE OFF YOUR CHAINS. BE BRAVE AND MARCH FOR YOUR LIBERTY AND YOUR CHILDREN WHO ARE TO FOLLOW YOU.
TAKE BACK AMERICA FROM THE WICKED AND CLAIM IT ONCE AGAIN FOR YOUR GOD, YOUR COUNTRY AND YOUR CHILDREN !

-as a liberal dem. in MD, special interests have made me part from voting democratic for quite awhile- (voted for Kucinich last dem. primary and Nader last election). Although I personally have a strong belief in God, I believe in a woman's right to choose, as well as evolution: it is in Paul's best interest to clearly state how he would ensure a woman from Alabama could not be penalized by seeking an abortion in MD. I guarantee, if he does not state the illegality of an inter-state penalty, he won't get the female vote: particularly in states like MD which voted overwhelmingly for a woman's right to choose. I, personally, will support him because I am terrified at the possibility of a Hillary/Obama/McCain/Huckabee victory-- but most women would feel differently. On every other issue, I'm right with him, and, as long as the rally is not during the work week, you can count on me being there.
Makes GREAT sense. Point being, i will be there whenever. i do disagree with the July 4th date. total mob scence, total cluster f@#k. I like this June idea, and gives us all good time to plan and not cram. I will however be there no matter when the date!
PEACE, Ron Paul REVOLUTION and BEYOND!
One thing to keep in mind: in other PEACEFUL protests lately there have been found to be MOLES inserted in order to PAINT the movement as NOT peaceful. Recently, in Canada, several cops were filmed throwing rocks and attempting to appear disruptive and NOT peaceful. Are you getting where the propaganda machine is headed? This is one reason why ANYONE in this march who crosses the line should be dealt with swiftly.....Paul supporter or no!
Ron Paul has been the subject of a full court press against him by the press lately, and they and their ilk will likely stop at nothing, so eyes wide open bretheren!!
I saw this today and thought I'd pass it on! (not my site)
The date needs to be carefully considered, and July 4th is NOT the day to hold this. Likewise, other events that get held in the District need to be carefully considered. Robert Frost said that whenever he spoke he wanted to be the one on show. We want Ron Paul to be the show in this march, so lets bear this in mind when applying for the permits. After living an hour and a half from DC you realize just how busy the town can be.
And if the campaign of Ron Paul is not organizing this, then people need to think hard about picking up the slack in terms of proper documentation of this event. That means cameras, both still and video. It also means that all the local news outlets need to recieve press packets about the event. It also means that anyone who knows folks in the media (newspapers, radio, tv) should suggest a story to them......have them meet a larger group of Ron Paul supporters in a restaurant in D.C. for a quick interview for the story after the story. The more creative you can get the better because newspapers need something new and different and so does radio and tv. If its an anniversary of the ratification of the Constitution, then maybe someone bakes a huge cake and it gets served up to folks at the local greasyspoon with someone there to take pics from the media.....and then someone talks about the meaning of the day....a history lesson....and then Ron Paul, who is ALSO a lesson in history.
Let's just do it because we must take self-responsibility for the current condition of the United States and our impact/responsibility we have to the world at large, ultimately it is not just about the United States but all of humanity. We must at the same time be tolerant of other view points so as not to force things down the throat of others who at this very special time do not see or feel the same. Peaceful revolution will go much further than any other way.
I think the 4th is the best day to hold the march for the following important reasons.1: People will not need to take off work to attend thus mass supporter turnout. 2: The symbolic importance of the 4th is in perfect harmony with the march message and can be used to great advantage. 3: I also welcome all the people that are in DC to see the fireworks etc because they can EASILY JOIN our march as we inform them thus MANY MANY MORE NEW SUPPORTERS! Just make certain there are plenty of extra signs for all the new support Ron Paul will gain as we passionatly invite new members visiting DC to march with us for freedom and peace. Please RETHINK your opposition to the 4th as i respectfully believe that arguments against are not fully thought through.
You know what? I would ike to retract my previous post. I didn't realize the signifigance of the 21st! LOL - i screwed up - no need for you to rethink your position as I already did and you win! Thanks for educating me! LOL
I apologize in advance if this seem like a spam but I have good reason why I'm posting this. I recently created Ron Paul/John McCain artwork because I was inspired by Dr. Paul's message and I wanted to get his message out. I thought what Dr. Paul stood for was exact opposite of what McCain stood for. So I created an artwork called
I apologize in advance if this seem like a spam but I recently created Ron Paul/John McCain artwork because I was inspired by Dr. Paul's message. I thought what Dr. Paul stood for was exact opposite of McCain stood for. So I created an artwork called "War & Peace" which shows their contrasting views. Originally all I wanted to do was get this message out to people but as time went on someone suggested that I should make this available for others.
I guess many people have seen my artwork and someone suggested that I create shirts so they can wear it to the march. If anyone else is interested, you can view my artwork and purchase shirt if interested. Once again, I'm sorry if this seem like a spam but all I want is for as many people to see this message and know why Ron Paul is the right choice and McCain is wrong choice.
One should remember that many of us are still going to state conventions as delegates and although money really isn't worth much, we still use it to pay bills, and to plan several such trips inside a few months will drain many of us who do not have it at our fingertips. Those of us in Nevada have just gone to a county convention, and are getting ready for a state convention at the end of April, I doubt the average person can fork over the funds to do both in the same month, as well as pay taxes. If you want more people there, remember that there are still primaries and such going on.
I think June the 21st is a perfect date. I thought someone mentioned earlier that they had already applied for the demonstration permit. We don't all want to be hauled off :) I have no idea where I read that, but I think they applied for 2 different days, June 21st & another day. We sure don't want to be there when the cherry trees bloom. It's a madhouse!
I'm not real familiar with Washington DC, but I do know that you can stay out in Virginia, the subway comes into Virginia. It's very easy & convenient to use to get to the Mall Downtown. Much better than driving in DC. We just need to set the date & make sure we have a permit! I say the 21st. I already made hotel reservations! :) LOL
Well it could be a great date, but there is nothing in motion for it.
There is however, April 15 the Freedom Rally, all setup and in progress, Ron Paul will be speaking www.freedomrally.info Permits in hand. or www.grannywarriors.com my entire Ron Paul Meetup is going! Hope you can join us!
Please sign the following petition "To Restore the Constitution", which will be presented on April 15th, during the "Freedom Rally" to the 110th Congress.
Make this go viral. Pass it on to everyone you know who wants their country back!
PS
the permits in hand for April 15th. Plans were in the works for this long before Ron suggested any dates.
Ron Paul is speaking at the April 15th rally in D.C. He has to vote that day in Congress and he'll be speaking after he votes.
Why does everyone think it's one or the other? Why can't there be two? One during the week (April 15th to deliver a message to congress & tell them to "restore the constitution") and the other to march on the weekend (June 21st, in honor of the Constitution & for freedom). One compliments the other.
I've been trying to get signatures. I just ask if they would sign on to "restore the constitution" and I mention the "Freedom Rally" in D.C. If they ask, "who's going to be there?", "Ron Paul, Officer Jack McLamb, etc." We want everyone at the rally & to sign the petition, not just supporters, but all freedom loving Americans.
Instead of having a march to washington -WHY NOT HAVE A RALLY AT EACH STATE CAPITAL on JUNE 21 2008 wearing home made tee shirts , with VOTE- WRITE IN (RON PAUL) ECT.
REASON IS ---- SAVE ON TRAVEL COST FOR EVERYONE---
MAYBE a lot more people will show they are real practicing
CONSERVITIVES and the NEWS MEDIA will catch on and speak out.
i spoke with a rep from dr. paul's office this morning who said he will not, in all likelyhood, be speaking at the april rally. according to my congressman, charles gonzalez, the national parks service has not received a request for a date for the june rally. it's doubtful they will have any available dates now. i can't even find anybody who is responsible for the june rally. dr. paul's office says they have no info on who is setting up this rally.
The Anonymous Group has been planning a march on DC in protest of the Church of Scientology for June 21st for months now (it marks exactly 6 months since the start of the protest campaign) and already some 3-4 thousands protesters had planned on attending... if you guys fuck it up and force them to shift the date... they're gonna be fucking pissed.
