Cyber Warfare on Ron Paul Campaign Continues
It appears round two of the ongoing cyber warfare assault on the Ron Paul campaign has begun. This is a quote from :KXAN.com
A customer service representative told her there was a suspicious $5 charge to her account.
"She said, 'Somebody by the name of Ron Paul has been trying to take $5 out of your account using this number,'" Ruffino said.
As you will read in this article linked above there is a second round starting in the ongoing cyber war against the Paul campaign once again by mysterious hackers who are now apparently putting money into his campaign to test stolen credit card numbers. The seriousness of this attack on the campaign is not fully known yet but it is some of the dirtiest tricks I have ever witnessed in a political campaign.
This attack on top of the evolving botnet spam attack makes the situation much more of a multi pronged assault than an isolated hacker in control of a botnet in a misguided attempt to help the campaign. This is clearly an evolving criminal conspiracy to harm the campaign of Ron Paul from a sophisticated professional bunch obviously for hire from someone who wants to stop the Paul Campaign's locomotive strength and they do not care what they have to do to accomplish the task.
We sure have some ruthless b@sturds at work here folks. It will take more than these dirty tricks I think to put out this Ron Paul Revolution prairie fire. We will know who is behind this in the long run I think.

I think the real question here is:
Why would criminals be targeting Ron Paul, and not Rudy Giuliani?
Answer: Professional courtesy! Giuliani, Romney, McCain, Thompson etc. are all criminals (of the constitutional variety) while Ron Paul is seen as a real law and order (the constitutional kind, not the TV kind) candidate. Thus these criminals are simply helping one of their own.
It seems to me that criminals who are just in it for the money would target all candidate websites equally, while a political dirty tricks campaign would concentrate on one or two candidates almost exclusively.
I think the time is long past for some of our more technically inclined supporters to begin tracking down and dealing with the credit card theives, and the virii laden misspelling sites (where the candidate site is spoofed)
I've suggested to KXAN that if the Ron Paul campaign was singled out for this story because his campaign finances are more open and available to public scrutiny than the other campaigns' finances are, then this should be noted in the story as well.

To me, the most interesting line in the piece was: "Representatives for the Ron Paul campaign said they have discovered more than a dozen mysterious $5 contributions in the past three days. They said they're working with banks to return the money." So what appears at first glance to be a hit against Ron Paul actually turns out also to be a piece of good publicity for the honesty and good work done by the Paul campaign.
What will they do next, criminals wouldn't just use Ron Pauls campaign, everybody would be equally targeted. This and the botnet sham, is part if a larger smear campaign, on Ron Paul. First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win. We are at the fight you stage right now, its amazing we even made it this far, dont stop now, we will advance to the next stage.
This probably isn't a dirty trick, but actual phishers. My own credit card got dinged at the red cross charity and then someone attempted to wire transfer thousands of dollars out of it. Its a standard ploy of scammers - find a site that accepts credit cards - for instance a charity, and transfer a small amount to check for its validity before you trade it to someone else or wire transfer big money out of it.

Maybe it's time to UP THE TEMPO of the Campaign ....That is, for every Event in every State to hold a Parade led by TIN WHISTLES and DRUMS playing and singing traditional VICTORY SONGS..... V for Victory... as in 'V for Vendetta' ... [Remember Remember the 5th of November!] the power of UNIFORMITY with all musicians dressed alike... creating ONE IMAGE... ONE SOUND that will RESONATE in the MINDS and HEARTS of all Americans... Carrying as many American Flags as possible... Invite the entire Town or City to March for FREEDOM.... Like the Pied Piper.... The Media can't and won't be able to resist giving maximum exposure.... March for FREEDOM march for VICTORY and reclaim your Great Country.
Next for every Ron Paul supporter to convert their Parent, Brothers, Sisters, Aunties and Uncles. Focus on those close to you, show them a Ron Paul Video and explain why all America must support Ron Paul. Show Alex Jones's film, ENDGAME... Explain that the Bilderberg Group have an Agenda.
Ron Paul may be their last Stand to Fly the Flag.
For Ron Paul is not a Hero or a Man ahead of his TIME. He a Man For and Of his TIME and of the American People.
Kevin in Houston, thank you for your thoughts for a mutual conspiracy spread out to misdirect, but it appears to me, these are "not" real pros. Otherwise, they would have done so. And considering they are focusing on one target due to the urgency, it's quite apparents they are financed/resourced by the other side and maybe utilized by organized crime. They are the most elite technologically and innovative out of any group. Then again, so are the KGB scientists as well.
"This is clearly an evolving criminal conspiracy to harm the campaign of Ron Paul from a sophisticated professional bunch"
Problem is, I don't think it's going to stop there; even if Ron Paul, say, gets into the final election run, I think you can expect to see our paperless voting machines silently rigged in Hillary's favor.
I find it strange that people have stopped talking about our black-box voting machines.

These cyber attacks on Ron Paul will only make him stronger. Only a moron would believe he's personally behind any criminal effort, so who cares what those people think. This guy is decent person and there is no denying it, no getting around it. Check his voting record. Do it.
So who cares let them create 100 new botnets a day, it wont matter. All it means is that the slime is begininng to fear the dawn.....

If you think this is bad, you'll be absolutely knocked on your keister to see the kinds of tricks that will be attempted if Ron Paul manages to do well in New Hampshire, Iowa, Michigan, and South Carolina. Take what you've seen so far and multiply it by ten. That's a more reasonable estimate of what can be expected further down the line if Paul continues to survive in the race.
Well this next attack makes sense. At first, they kept saying we were 'spamming' them when it was just that we had more people making comments on forums and blogs than any other candidate -- good comments I might add, that talked of his policies and of issues. That is not spam, we countered because spam is email and that was not email. After pointing that out for months, I guess someone decided to send some phony spam and try to get RP supporters blamed.
Next step, in combatting the ludicrous idea that a few emails sent out on the last days in October were somehow responsible for all the support he's garnered since January, we've said, if this is spam, then who gave him the almost $12M he's collected so far? If we are a few spammers, we must be pretty rich... hehheh.
Lo and behold, someone is trying to screw with MONEY NOW.
It follows a pattern here you see?
What do they think? Are they now going to accuse us of manufacturing donors? Stealing money?
I think we will see more and more dirty tricks to try and discredit Ron Paul. They have very little to attack him on with his stance and beliefs. So they're going to use the internet "spam card". Now if only corporate media would ignore it like they're ignoring all the criminal and negligent activities of Ghouliani. That would be a miracle!

I think you can see how this is being played in the press. First they insunuate that the botnet spam is creating a false online buzz and now they insinuate that hackers using stolen credit cards are funding the campaign. All of this to try and protray the Ron Paul camp as a strictly bandit campaign with no real backing.
These false leads become the news they push up to counter the good news of the crowds of thousands flocking to hear Ron Paul and the new campaign offices he is opening all over the country. It is a deliberate and malicious attack on his credibility.
They constantly characterize his support base, fringe, loony, crabgrass, whacko and such and try and insinuate that the only man on the stage talking any sense or truth is just like us. It is really just so childish and stupid but I guess that is the only way they can think up to deal with something that is as strong as this Revolution.

Cyber thieves target a lot of web sites. The question is why, out of millions of more prominent web sites, this report specifically linked Ron Paul's web site to cyber thieves. Answer: to smear Ron Paul.

Why would they donate just five dollars?
. . . Seriously?
Maybe, JUST IN CASE, they weren't publicized incidents, then he at least would only get five bucks. Make it plausible; if Ron Paul supporters are antsy enough to jump at the oppurtunity to STEAL someone's IDENTITY then maybe, just maybe, they'd be crazy enough to pay more than five dollars.
The Time magazine article labeling Paul supporters as anarchists, FOX News reporters telling cameramen to focus away from the Ron Paul majority of the crowd, the spamming BS, and now the credit card $5 donation garbage . . . This is ridiculously unfair. This is the media's muzzle on our voices, the muzzle that makes the roar of the massive grassroots campaign shrink and become distorted by how the masses have unknowingly been told to view Ron Paul and his supporters.
Depressing stuff indeed. I agree that the only other thing we can do is make the roar louder. This should include marches, both inside and outside the U.S.- primarily because, if there are huge marches for a presidential candidate OUTSIDE of the U.S., that'd be something to raise an eyebrow to. Inside it, well, the media already ignores those.
THAT, and, let's not forget, November 5 is in two days. It's time to save up, time to get ready, time to roar.

Well, one comment to possibly answer the question: Why Ron Paul?
Perhaps because Ron Paul's donation engine displays the name of recent donors? They could enter the name on the card, and wait for it to appear to see if it went through. None of the other candidates have this capability that I know of.
However, it is certainly more likely that it is meant to accomplish two things. 1) Discredit Ron Paul 2) Flag legitimate donations in preparation for the money bombs coming up. Just wait and see how many donations will be rejected to scatter and disrupt the money bomb now that credit card companies are looking at donations to Ron Paul.
I fully expect hell to break loose on Monday as a result of this. The bloggers that decalred war on Ron Paul will be giggling like Guiliani. That is, until they get caught (though if they ONLY did the $5, no one is actually going to go after them.)
It's the constitution they are after, and have nearly acheived their goal. That piece of document, is your protector, without it, you have no power. Slowly it has been bit by bit disintegrated by the lawless Bush & Co., not to mention fake patriots in the Congress. This paper, as long as it exists, gives you, The People, the power to kick ass to anyone who has abused the limited powers they swored on. Bush's abuses have far outstrippen those of the British King, listed in the Declaration of Independance. See for yourself, the list of abuses made by the British King, resulting in a revolution, Bush has performed all those established abuses, and even more on a much larger scale. You decide if your present Lord deserves immediate punishment or not for breach of trust and misinterpretation of facts. Wars are fought between nations. Which nation are you supposedly fighting against. Ah, it not a nation, it a criminal organization...who worked/works for the CIA...So legally, there is no war. It should be handled by criminal investigators...Ron Paul=Constitution...... You decide.
The smearing is great, Its good to have the right wing baseless smear attack lying war mongering totalitarian neocon scum show their contempt for a non-authoritarian that believes in the constitution. Good job neocons, show the public the criminal SCUM that you are. The more you trash Ron Paul, the more he will rise from the ashes and cinders of the country YOU, the neocons, burned to the ground. YOU controlled the house, the senate and the white house, and THIS IS YOUR MESS.
I don't think the $5 contributions were meant to discredit him. People who steal credit cards often try making a small purchase before they go for the kill. It happened to me once.
I do however think the spam-bot thing was a Joe job. No one net-savvy enough to set up spam-bots would be dumb enough to think it would help the candidate they were apparently spamming for. I would like to see some samples of the spam, but the media sources that reported it have offered up nothing but summaries, opinion, and spin.
the reason criminals might not want ron paul to win is because he wants to end the war on drugs which will put most criminals out of business because alot of their funding is from the sale of narcotics
