Topic: Abolition of Statism
A Declaration of Freedom

In an uncompromising stand the author explains why he is a modern-day abolitionist and the moral path to a free society.

As a free man, by birthright, for as long as I live and breath, I declare that I have the innate, inalienable and absolute right to remain totally free from the intrusion and force of any individual, gang or group - including this or any other government.

I also recognize that all men, (inclusive of all genders, nationalities, races or ages,) are born with this right to freedom, whether they accept it, or not, for it is as much a part of being human as is our capacity for reason.

I recognize and choose the way of freedom joined eternally with respect as the only moral method of human social relations, upholding the rights of all individuals at the expense of none. Respect for an individual's rights separates us from the lesser animals, for, though they might be free, the law of survival precludes any concept of rights. The animal world is one of every animal for itself, where might makes right and only the strong, most fit and best able to reproduce survive.

As respect for the individual's rights and the physical manifestation of his rights - property, are essential for the basis of a civilized society; I solemnly swear to never violate the rights of anyone. I vow to never initiate violence against anyone, but reserve the right to fight back by the rational means necessary in self-defense and in defense of the product of my labor - my property.

I deny anyone and everyone any right or claim over my own life and the product thereof.

I deny any group or collective any right to the same, including this or any other government.

I understand that governments are rightly and properly instituted among men to secure their rights, acting only as servants to the people. So, no man can ever be a servant of his government unless this government becomes a tyranny and reveals its true nature and intent by forcing this hardship on its people, in violation of his rights.

When a government relinquishes its role of defender of rights and becomes the violator of the same, then it is not only the right, but the moral obligation of the people, to dissolve this government and oppose it by whatever means are available and necessary.

By ballot, I can participate in making collective corrections, when and only when a candidate of virtue presents himself - one that is principled and defends our rights. When the candidates are statist, no votes should ever be cast, for that would be tantamount to giving them our sanction - the sanction of the victim.

By ballot, I can vote, when and only when I can be assured that no ballot box tampering exists. For the existence of such a crime invalidates the concept of democracy, reducing a society to a dictatorship, and must be punished as an act of high treason.

By civil disobedience I can resist tyranny, as long as a jury of my peers is given the freedom to judge my actions, or inactions, on the basis of their own conscience, free from authoritative pressure and influence, and reason is given free reign.

When the judicial system fails in its duty to provide impartial justice and becomes an arm of the State, and life and liberty become threatened and blood spilled, then I reserve the right to fight back with measured reciprocity, retaliating specifically against the guilty and never against the innocent.

The only justification for war is one of self-defense and as such war becomes the last recourse when the threat of torture, murder or perpetual bondage is imminent. When a man is cornered like an animal, and the only choice is to become a victim or die in battle, then that is the time for war, to paraphrase Jefferson - the time to spill the blood of patriots and tyrants to refresh the tree of Liberty.

I deny the existence of any statist government, defining statism as a governmental system of institutionalized greed, justifying the desire for and taking of the unearned. I recognize that greed and the taking of the unearned also defines a criminal, and when a government acts the same way it also becomes criminal.

I absolutely advocate the abolition of statist government and thereby, for as long as statism exists, will consider myself an abolitionist and will conscientiously object to contributing to its existence in as much as I have this freedom to refuse and will work towards its demise to the betterment and liberation of humanity.

As the community of cyberspace is my witness, I declare myself a free man and call forth to all other free men anywhere in the world to join me in this declaration of freedom, independence, personal empowerment and civic responsibility towards the eventual freedom of all people, everywhere. May our lives provide the example to future generations just as our forefathers have inspired us to throw off the yokes of oppression. Let future generations know that we lived, and died if need be, as men - men of principle, of honor; for love of country, of humanity, of life, of liberty and of love itself.

Shame the states have lost their power to the fed. There would be strongly liberarian states where men like this could live - peacefully and happy - and others could live in more statist parts of the nation - the founding fathers would roll over to learn that a man of this conviction will live a long and difficult struggle against his government in this nation.
