I am in no way conceding defeat for Ron Paul in this upcoming presidential election, but I must emphasize/underline/bolden the need for all us Paulites to begin looking locally. Start getting involved in your City Hall meetings. Write to your state legislators. Elect officials into the mayoral office that best represent your beliefs. Better yet, run yourself! Get yourself elected to some civic office.
But more importantly, you need to get others interested in this. You need to change them, convert them to your political beliefs. You need to show them why liberty is better than government regulation, why civil rights are better than national security. This is a matter of the heart. So start talking to everyone you know about libertarianism, write letters to magazines and newspapers, if you're not afraid, give the public radio a call. Raise awareness, people! America is getting lazy, and it is up to us to get America back into shape. It's a daunting task, but if we don't start now, it'll only be tougher to reverse in later years.
Let life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness reign supreme!

You are absolutely correct, I have been advocating a similar message for the last 10 years or so, but my primary focus has been on the Legislatures of the Several States. It is far easier to run and get elected on a State level than that of federal office. Imagine taking over the Legislatures of all the Several States in this country by fielding candidates in both the Republican and Democratic Parties, not to mention any other Party that is available. We must not only field candidates, but we must take complete control over each of the major political parties and the easiest way to do that is on the local and State level.
It will continue to be difficult to gain any major control that would be recognized by the entrenchment political powers in Washington however, if Washington was once again confronted by the Restored Power and Authority of the People in Concurrent Consent through the Fifty States, that would be extremely hard to ignore. In fact, the Several States could then easily press the Authority and Power delegated to them by the People of the respective States.
There are few alternatives, but to reassert the Power and Authority of the People as it is delegated and used by the Several States against the usurpation of the federal government.
