Flash Fiction, if you will...

On February 11, 2008, three days after the Ron Paul rEVOLution died, a revolutionary minded young man in Brooklyn wrote an impassioned letter to the American People calling for armed overthrow of the government of the United States of America. In doing so he knew he was committing a federal crime, but he no longer cared. He and three others urged everyone they knew to Digg the article, and they went from computer to computer Digging as much as they could. Within 24 hours it was on the front page of Digg. On February 12, 2008, precisely 32 hours and fifty minutes after the article was published, the young man and his three friends were apprehended by the FBI. That evening the major news channels began covering the story. In the ensuing days, everyone who Dugg the article was questioned, while all around them serious talk had erupted between average Americans as to the possibility of an armed overthrow of an oppressive government.

On February 13, 2008 the story made the front page of every major newspaper in America, continuing to garner network and cable-news attention. Demonstrations sporadically appeared in the major cities of Canada, Western Europe, and the Middle East in support of the overthrow. On February 14, 2008, 60% of the American population engaged in mass demonstrations, and it was rumored that every available firearm in America was now in the hands of the public. With the military spread thin and their allegiances leaning toward the revolutionaries, rather than engage in the massacre of crowds of innocents, they joined them. By 10:30 p.m. ten million armed civilians and military personnel had descended on the nation's capitol, demanding the executive branch of the government to cede power to an obscure congressman from Texas, by the name of Ron Paul. In what became known as the Valentine's Day Revolution, the American people took back their government, and reinstated their constitution.

An interesting fantasy, Mike, although the time-scale seems a bit short.

I recommend Heinlein's book "The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress" for another interesting and related fantasy. You can read about it here:

Why would 60% of the American public want Ron Paul to be president if only he's only received ~5% of the vote in the primaries?

It is titled "a fiction," Charles.  Bravo, Mike.

Good question Charles.  I think the article is showing how gradients work.  Force and Violence, the kind issued by the "facist police state", has this unique quality, i.e. it will shine a whole new light on Dr. Paul's message for those who couldn't grasp it the first time around.  So far we're only experiencing the "force" applied by the MSM, not particularly damaging to the body/psyche.  As the gradient picks up, pain ensues and the person, if he's able, might start asking "What did that Paul fellow say?"  Something about, "I don't want to run your life, I don't want to run the economy, I don't even want to run the world, I just want to restore liberty."  Sounds so simple but I guess there are those who don't get it, who need pain to bring them up from the dumbing down they've recieved their whole life.  The whole article speaks to gradients of pain...yes?  Hope this helps buddy.

Not a pleasant fantasy in my opinion.

The date of the Revolution should be Election Day. The mass of demonstrators armed with ballots.

The presidency only ceded because it was rightfully earned in votes.

But perhaps my version is a bit more of a fantasy?

If only we all had the balls to stand up to the horrible people they give us as "candidates". More people are being Dr. Paul then the primaries show because he has a very big following with Independents and some Democrats, people who couldn't vote for him. I'm starting a local group called Write-In Ron Paul, to push people who love him to use their right to write in his name in November. It's not a violent struggle, but it's a start towards Revolution. Any questions, please email me at writeinronpaul@yahoo.com. Website will follow.

This country doesn't deserve what it can't appreciate. We've been entertained and dumbed down until we are now glazed over like zombies. The sorry-ass masses are putting McCain and Hillary as our options, and people like this writer are having to escape into fantasy and fiction. I can't say that I blame him.

I'm actually escaping into fantasy and fiction because of Title 18, Part I, Chapter 115 of the United States Code.

Remember, the founding fathers were a small group, and many in the colonies did not support or understand their work. However, what they created, a unique Constitutional Republic, brought much freedom and prosperity to Americans. Like Pareto's rule, 20 percent does the word of 80 percent. May the cause of liberty proceed.

Could it be that 95 percent do know that Dr. Paul is a candidate for President. If you were to rely only on the MSM for info you would ask Ron WHO.

For example in the 2 weeks before the NY primary the Times-Herald Record, a major Hudson valley print rag,  excluded Dr. Paul from their primer on the Dem & Rep candidates who are running for president.

If every Ron Paul supporter could burn the documentary " America freedom to fascism " on 1000 DVDs by Aaron Russo, then those who don't have a computer can be educated. One disc in every letter box. This documentary has a suprizing kill rate for sneerers, it converts the hardest sneerer into the most ardent Ron Paul supporter. I had so many sneerers of Ron Paul, but show them " America Freedom to fascism ", and the scales lifted. They became instantly anxious for action for the Ron Paul race, and kicked themselves for not seeing things earlier. Maybe Ron Paul has lost this time around, but if all Americans are educated by means of this documentary, the next election will be an easy win for Ron or Rand Paul. Burn this documentary and erge those that you hand it out to, to burn and hand on to others. This documentary will trigger the Revolution.

The terrifying thing is that some of you are probably serious. "This documentary will trigger the Revolution?" And I thought that the people who believed Paul had a chance of winning the election were delusional.

No Name: I never read "the Turner Diaries," but I'm no white supremacist.  I grew up in Brooklyn, where people from all over the world reside, people who came here to escape from real oppression.  When THEY start talking about how they see our contry starting to resemble what they left you have to think a moment.  And for real, IT'S A STORY, A FICTION, and, more importantly, A FANTASY.  If I had called it "an alternate future history" or "science fiction" I would leave myself open to be reproached, because then it's supposed to be plausible.  It is a fantasy because it is never supposed to have happened, and never will.

Fantasy implies it's something that probably won't happen, but you REALLY want it to. That's why this is bothering some of us.
