To Ron Paul: A Strategy for Victory

In an unconventional race unconventional methods must be adopted, if Ron Paul stands any chance of winning.

To the Honorable Dr. Ronald Paul:

No, the hordes of neocon indoctrinated masses have not jumped aboard the Ron Paul freight train, despite your claims of being the only "true" Republican or "real" conservative. And in a country that gives its president a very low approval rating, and where the majority are now against the war, many still cast a vote for your nemesis, the war-supporter, McCain.

Fear being used as the primary motivation, the threat of terrorism and the spread of un-Christian militant Islam having been forced for years into our numbed collective consciousness, the masses have become accustomed to this new reality.

Too often, sir, you come across as a doomsayer, a fear-monger, taking on the role of a Paul Revere - the recession is coming! But to be leader of the free world, you must adopt the steely confidence and determination of a Winston Churchill - "We shall never surrender!"

Warning us of a failing economy is important, but the leader must provide the solutions to allay fears, not stoke them. Dr. Paul: You are without a doubt the most principled man in Washington, but to win you must be looked upon as a man that commands respect not only here, but all over the world.

In other words, your message of fear needs to be overshadowed by a more positive message of hope, self-empowerment, peace, prosperity and freedom.

To this end, I propose that you end all discussion, aimed at the Republican base, many of whom are stalwart neocons, about who is the most conservative and focus on passionately defending the virtues of liberty.

I urge you to distance yourself from being a Republican and reinvent yourself as a candidate for all, especially for the disenfranchised, those that maybe have never voted, half of all Americans. Spend our campaign money on reaching these new voters, not on chartered flights to make personal appearances. The days of flesh-pressing and baby-kissing should be abandoned for the technology of the 21st century. You can simulcast from a central command center direct to town halls live, where you can have your new book and DVDs given out. You must circumvent the MSM through innovative strategy.

Your campaign is not a cult of personality but a message of freedom, so cost-effectively send that message to the new voters and those of independent minds.

If your attempt at becoming the Republican nominee fails, then you must run as an independent candidate for America, for humanity. We will never surrender, nor should you as you bear the responsibility of seeing the revolution you started to the end.

You owe nothing to the Republican Party and everything to America. Let not your loyalties be confused.

I thank you deeply for your efforts. Godspeed. And as you are the servant of the people, I remain forever your humble servant.

I welcome all to contribute comments and opinions about what should be this campaign's strategy to win the presidency.

That is a really good idea! Like Al Gore did this 3D appearance via hologram to Earth Day events. It really blew the press and people away. People turn up just to see the hologram. Keep changing the format and continually add features. Give them a circus and people will buy into the message. I know it just sounds like a gimmick to many purists, and I still strongly recommend people to become precinct leaders for this campaign and to build the infrastructure for all future campaigns involving this message, but I have to say that this would be powerful addition to the infrastructure. But let's remember that people still want to meet and see people to be able to "look into their soul" and get that "good feeling" (not in a Bill Clinton way); so please register to become a precinct leader if you haven't already.

An independent run is not really recommended - he can't win through being independent as you can't get into the debates. If he gets the nomination, that is the best case. If McCain wins and get's buried by the Dems (which is inevitable as he can't even get the base to support him), then that's the neo-cons buried with him. Barry Goldwater can go for his seat in the senate. We keep building our numbers in the party. Remember, Obama only had 2 years experience in the senate and he may be the next president. It is far easy to change the world by working within an existing party. The next generation of Republicans will be full of Ron Paul Republicans. The neo-cons were patient, we can be patient too...

A true revolutionary candidate has to appeal to peoples sense of vanity & herd instinct.

Barack Obama is almost universally framing himself as "A vote for change" (what that change is besides being black i have no idea.) Americans are like worker bee drones who parrot whatever they hear from the media & friends.

He is always posing in photos & use graphic design similar to JFK & MLK . A coincidence. I don't think so. Why? He is painting himself as reminiscent candidate to the largest demographic in the US. Baby boomers who grew up in that time period.

They all want their Social Security & that is the largest voting block in the United States.

A true viable outside candidate has to be able to frame himself not as a ' kook' or let others frame him as one.

They would have to have their followers frame their opponents as nutty & vapid.

Ron Paul's followers mostly promote him, but don't hardly frame the opponents in controversy (Which is readily available in all current candidates especially McCain, Clinton & Obama | They have all been caught with their hands in the cookie jar so to speak.)

The point is... you are trying to promote concepts to a populace that lives on a similar premise to 'High school popularity' contests

You can't campaign on concepts that most people can't comprehend (Gold).

Most people have to buy who Ron Paul is & this campaign has done a terrible job of promoting his name. I can't tell you how many people I know who have no idea who he is.

I could tell you a 100 ways that he could have gotten more street level name recognition without Mass media debate coverage.

Christ...he has mainstream celebs who support him they don't even use them on their supporters pages or at fundraisers.

I just wanted to add that if Ron Paul's campaign did not think of smearing other candidates backgrounds& ideas  through the use of pro for-hire bloggers.

They missed the boat, because it surely happened to him with the whole "Paul-tards" slogan that was found everywhere.

At least the campaign could have attacked other candidates on & offline with something that was as effective.

It isn't a recession moron it is a depression coming within the next decade if the proper management decisions are not in place.  We are on an economic suicide path with our spending and there isn't another candidate who is interested in fixing the problem.  I am disappointed that RP would not give up his congressional seat to continue the fight that he knows is right and support those that think like him throughout the nation...To me, that is a little of a sellout to the freedom movement!

But all things considered, we supportors must start a write in campaign to let the Party know for certain that our support for freedom and constitutional adherance is real!  Write in Ron Paul for President 2007!

Is there any reason why both the Constitution Party and the Libertarian Party cannot put RP on their ballot?  If this is within the rules, then I bet the parties could be talked into it.  Whoever they run for President otherwise will be lucky to get a couple of percent.

The catch might be that the "elections" might be rigged enough to  make all this a waste of time.  The people rigging elections (we have proof from several places) should be tried as TRAITORS, IMHO, but that's anoother subject.

Have you ever met a single person who enthusiastically supported McCain, or even admitted voting for him? I thought not.

Either I have no idea what's going on in America, or this election is fixed on some massive scale that I cannot even comprehend.

this is bullshit, its some guys opinions. "days of fleshpress are over, use your technoogy to fundraise cost-effectivy"? hes talking about the guy who has more internet support than any other candidate, who broke the record of funds raised in a day in an onlive fundraiser ($6,000,000) and then 2 months later raised $12,000,000 dollars in one day topping himself. how much do onlive fundraisers cost? basically nothing. he doesnt skip around issues and just portray a negative message about the economy, he has very realistic and firm solutions that make sense that other candidates dont even consider. the ron paul re(love)lution shirts and his talking about positive deplomacy, being friends and traders with countries, and giving people their rights and power is the most unbelievably positive message out there. he is a republican, at the roots. he shouldnt say he isnt a republican because the modern republicans are taking a different, further-from-the-base approach to interpreting the ideals of the party. vote ron paul

Ron Paul has already spent a lot of time fighting for our liberty and I think he knows he has had a effect this time, so much so, that he now is under attack by powers within his own party at home and has no choice but to change his focus toward keeping his congressional seat or else there will be no one left in Washington to speakout. He knows the party machine and govt' PR press will not give him a break in the campain for presdent as they fear his message so he is doing what they expect him to do, and that is protect his home base now under seige.

I would recommend all that can, please contribute to Pauls  campaign in Texas so we will not lose the only patriot we have left who has shown he will stand and deliver for America.

Mr.Hayes: I think you missed the point of the article. Obviously, R Paul used the internet to the best effect and obviously he does have positive notes to his speeches. That does not negate the question of where the campaign money was spent. By the admission of the managers, much money went to charter him around to make personal appearances. Was that a better use of funds than using high tech means of communication, like simulcasting to town meetings? Also: Could he have been more positive and offered more solutions than shrilly predicting doom and gloom constantly? Just one person's opinion, of course. But this isn't: Letters at the beginning of a sentence should be capitalized. That sir, is a fact ;)
