THE PROBLEM WITH POLITICAL CATAGORIES

With the advent of the new attack first, ask questions later policy of George Bush, the status quo conservatives have lost their way.

For thousands of years, Jews, Christians and Muslims, all who have been cut from the same cloth in the beginning, have been at arms with each other due to some type of interpretation that was not accepted by the others at some point. Both Christians and Muslims separated from the Israelites to form their own religious identity. These radical shifts in ideologies have caused most of the wars in this world from the bloody Spanish crusades all the way up to today's extremist Islamists This same ideological transference has changed the political spectrum here in the United States.

I was reminded of all of this yesterday as I was surfing the internet and came across a small languishing "conservative" site. The members there couldn't stand Ron Paul for the simple reason that he was a libertarian rather than a true conservative. They viewed Ron Paul as Like a "wolf in sheep's clothing". Ron Paul... was an enemy of the conservative movement.

Say what?!

I am going to say this at the expense of my own neck, but real "conservatives" and Libertarians are not far apart by their very nature. It is just today, the definition of Conservative has been hijacked by the Bush administration to include military conquest in the hopes of containing extremist militant Islamists. It is now ok today, to strike first if there is a measly threat of a boogie man around the corner. The Conservative values now include the use of deadly force if there appears to be any threat level whatsoever. An analogy here would be to wipe out a hill of red ants with Gasoline and fire because their bite stings. Normally, I would just tend to walk around the ant hill.

The Libertarians of today can be viewed as the Israelites before any ideological splintering. The Constitution is the original founding document, much like the 5 books of Moses (Torah) are the basis of all Christian-Judea religions. These are the people pushing the core values of the Constitution that we should all be paying attention to. The Conservatives then, should be, and I say that with a fine grain of salt, should be those that wish to conserve those values.

The greatest divide came in with FDR and the new religion called liberalism. No one at that time wanted to use the dirty word of Socialism but in reality, it is nothing else. I like to call a spade a spade, so, both Obama and Clinton are nothing other than socialists. They want to redirect your wealth into the pocket of someone who is not as "fortunate" as you. It is not your money after all, it belongs to the collective. They want to make health insurance affordable for everyone so that like Social Security, everyone will be forced to purchase it. I do not see this in the Constitution. Do you? But I do see this in socialist countries. Liberalism has managed to change the terms of the contract (Constitution) under the General Welfare clause and change it to take direct care of the people using any means necessary. Generally, this is called Parens Patriea or Government as Parent. This was a fundamental shift in ideology just like the way the Christian religion was established. Prior to this adoption, it was agreed that the Constitution limited the Government's action while the latter allowed for the limitation of individual rights in favor of the government privilege.

Today, we have a push pull situation between these ideologies with liberals on one side with a gun yelling give us all your cash so we can govern, Libertarians on the other (called crazies because they want nothing else than to follow the organic law) crying foul, and conservatives trying to defend the constitution from anymore damage than has been presented. George Bush however, has done more to change the status quo than any president since FDR! It is now ok to invade sovereign nations for no apparent reason other than they "are a perceived threat".

I can attack this folly for hours on end, but suffice it to say that all of our core values as Americans are now screwed up. Once benevolent people, we are ready to attack anyone that looks sideways at us as a matter of policy. I ask you, is this a good example of what "democracy" is all about? (Please don't write tellimg me this is a republic, I know what we should be) Is this a great example to show other countries what freedom and prosperity brings? What is worse, it has trickled down from the military to our internal police forces. If you look sideways at a peace officer, he is more apt to tazer your little butt rather than speak to you as a human. Governments are now stepping on people's rights faster and faster. This in turn is provoking people into extraordinary action against government officials as mistrust of government. There is a huge rise currently of ordinary citizens taking actions against government for increasingly ascending upon the rights of citizens due to the overturning of the Constitutions limitations agreement.

This is a time of serious reflection. Where are we going from here? If the Constitution is dead then why give it lip service? If it is not dead, then who will fight for it? Who is going to champion the cause? The Constitution cannot speak. As Bush states, "it is only a damn piece of paper!" The Socialists do not have the best interest of the Constitution at heart. The "real conservatives" view Libertarians as crazies and the "real conservatives" have lost their identities within the Neo-cons and the wars that support the myrad corporations that benefit. Only Ron Paul has had the courage to speak bluntly while this nation is headed downhill very rapidly.

Yes, there are dangers to categorizing one's political ideals such as Dr. Paul's. The real difficulty is to correctly interpret that compartmentalization and to have the courage to understand the category for honest debate. It is just another viewpoint just as it is another religion. Another viewpoint that is just as rational as yours. Otherwise, you may find one day that you fall into that infamaous catagory which causes you to be avoided at all costs, laughted at or just kicked in the shins.

Welcome to high school all over again. I thought we were adults?

We must recognize the power of the media and how the conservatives have lost their way. I fell into this trap by watching Fox news and supporting the military in going to Iraq. If anyone spoke against the war  they were treated like a heritic because we had the obligation of supporting our military troups and taking out a very dangerous person in the world. The News was propoganda richly designed to mold our minds around the cause and the American Flag. No where did the Fox media allow the words of Ron Paul other than the charactor assination that was bestowed upon him. Had I heard his 2002 speach of the war I would have sided with him and spoke out against preemptive actions against a country that had no power to threaten us. I fell into this conservative trap by enlisting into the vietnam war as a kid only to discover now that the wars are promoted by the bankers to fund deficit spending so they could collect the interest from newly printed money.

We must warn people from drinking the Kool-Aid and marching to the orders of the people who controls what we know.
