McCain Coronation Sounds Death Knell for GOP Anointing McCain is clearly a major and violent spasm in the death throes of the Republican party.by creator

As I walked my California precinct last week talking to likely Republican voters, there was a strong response that I received time and again: "Not John McCain!" There were several who emoted audibly as to their distaste for the man and his liberal history in the senate.
However, it is now quite evident that the GOP power brokers have chosen to elevate McCain as the anointed nominee, over the vehement protestations of major party pundits like Rush Limbaugh and evangelical leaders like James Dobson.
Reports continue to filter in from around the country of what are, at the very very least, highly suspicious circumstances. Mitt Romney's precipitous announcement yesterday that he was stepping down was a very strong indicator of behind-the-scenes maneuvering. This could not have been more evident in his transparently disingenuous speech endorsing liberal McCain as the standard-bearer of conservative values. President Bush's call to party faithful to support the nominee is another. There is an apparent orchestration of effort here to remove all doubt, immediately and unequivocally, as to who the Republican nominee will be.
Even more sinister inferences spring to mind from other reports and observations. In New York State on Super Tuesday, voters in many polls were plainly told that one of the then remaining four major presidential candidates had left the race, which was a flat-out lie. His name was even "X"-ed off of the ballot card posted on the wall in some precincts. In Tennessee, election signs for all candidates but McCain were reportedly removed by public works employees and dumpstered before voting on Tuesday.
Because of his widespread unpopularity, the fact that John "100-Year War" McCain appears to have been selected by voters in the Republic of California is in and of itself highly suggestive of election rigging. Even a casual review of the California Secretary of State website [where election results are displayed for 53 districts] strains rational credulity to believe that voters across the state could possibly have been so homogeneous in their choices. Just start here and click "Next District" repeatedly, and ask yourself whether results for the four major candidates could have possibly been so "level" across the state. This amounts to a "statistical miracle" as observed in a recent Lew Rockwell column.
In the days following the Super Tuesday election, local talk show hosts such as the popular Rick Roberts have been inundated with thousands of phone calls and emails from Republican voters reporting that they were prevented from voting on the Republican ballot at their precinct.
All of these evidences lead to the inescapable conclusion that the GOP has a death wish. In a repeat of its failed 1996 strategy when the party advanced Bob "viagra" Dole over conservative Patrick Buchanan, the party powers that be are clearly intending to "throw the election" to the Democrat side of the aisle.
The difference between then and now, however, is that, because news is no longer totally monopolized by the "mainstream media" but has become widely available through the internet, it will no longer be possible to hoodwink enough voters to maintain this charade. We will undoubtedly witness an unprecedented mass exodus from this party of betrayal. The GOP will find itself decimated and without even a hope of success in 2012.
Is there any possible salvation for the Republican party? Perhaps. While there is no way that Mike Huckabee could ever lead the party to success in November, if enough voters and GOP delegates were to wake up to the authentic conservative bona-fides of Dr. Ron Paul in time to bestow the nomination on him, the party might yet be saved by the skin of its teeth, despite its own persistent attempts at suicide.

This is an accurate picture of what we are going to see with the GOP in the coming months and years. Splintered and wandering. Sadly there is one true Republican in the race that the party and elite choose to ignore due to the fear of giving up their power under a restoration of the Constitution. They'll lose it the hard way rather than taking the country back to its roots.
One has to ask the question - is the U.S. still a functioning democracy? The biased reporting by the MSM has destroyed any illusions that America has a free press. And as for the integrity of the voting process, this is now suspect with electronic voting and other tactics to control the outcome.
Ben, I don't disagree with your assessment of Islam, but neither have I ever read or heard any statements from Dr. Paul that take the "honorable religion" position of Senator McCain. Dr. Paul's opposition to intervention in general and the Iraq 'war' in particular is based upon the constitutional requirement for congress (not the executive branch) to declare war prior to engaging the enemy. Moreover, Dr. Paul is the only candidate who has bothered to ascertain why groups like Al Qaeda have attacked the U.S. by researching the terrorists own words on the matter. Lastly, your petition offers no hint as to what action you would want a candidate to take with regards to Iraq and Al Qaeda. Do you want more action against them or less? I believe Dr. Paul is correct -- if the U.S. would keep its nose out of the affairs of others and concentrate its military assets on protecting our own borders, we would have little to fear.

So I went to the CA GOP website, and checked the results in each district. You are right about the consistency. Odd.
Equally disturbing is another odd fact: Rudy Giuliani scored 50-100% MORE votes than Dr Paul in most districts.
The ignorance of the people, created by the MSM, is just astounding.
ps Ben: Dr Paul recently appointed Robert Pape as a Foreign Policy advisor. The man's a legend in terms of understanding the root causes of radical terrorism. He also appointed some other good people. Look on his website.
I don't believe Rudy Giuliani could have won over Ron Paul here in California. Especially since he was not even in the race anymore. It would be nice to run a test Straw Poll of California districts, and pollers vote like they voted at their district polling center, where we could compare the straw Poll results with California's GOP results. But not all the voters in California have access to the internet.
