Questions for the Ron Paul movement

Super Tuesday is in the past, and Mitt Romney has suspended his candidacy, what is next for us?

The Ron Paul movement is entering a crossroads. Continue his candidacy or secure his house seat We know for now that he will remain in the race, and the push is on for the Romney supporters, and anti McCain people But at somepoint will he entertain the idea of helping those 15 people he mentioned in his video address with their elections?

Next, how long should he remain with the party? If or when should he seriously consider running as an independent? Joe Schembrie writes that the GOP has already worked to undermine the Paul campaign and therefore would not be likely to support Paul in the general election. He also states that outside of the Republican field he would no longer be an also ran, but a 'spoiler' candidate, which could mean more exposer. I can't say that I agree that the media would all of a sudden include Ron Paul in their coverage, but here is a link to his article if you haven't read it already.[link edited for length]

And of course the last question, should he form his own party, rejoin the Libertarians, or join the Constitution party? And if there are readers out there who have been involved with the Libertarian party or Constitution party, what might these parties offer Ron Paul that would benefit him more then running as an independent?

For those keeping count, John McCain can win the nomination on March 5th or sooner if all those who have dropped out can "give" McCain the delegates they won before they dropping out.

I will not pretend to understand how this process works outside of my own state, so for the sake of argument lets assume Dr. Paul will remain in the race for the nomination until march 5th. I am not a political strategist, but I believe with Romney out, Dr. Paul's message should be directed at McCain to pick up the anti McCain conservatives out there.I believe he may be planning this as seen on C-span during the CPAC conference. You can see him go after McCain. Starting at 5:52 of the video

And just because I am not a McCain fan, I want to include these two clips as well.
The first is John McCain in the last debates answering Dr. Paul's question on the Presidents working group on financial markets, spliced together with MS Teen South Carolina.

In the next clip McCain leaves no doubt on how he would deal with Iran were he to get elected

What happens after March 5th? I guess we will see in a month.

I wish to add two things in closing.
1. Ron Paul mentioned in the video that I linked at the beginning of my article there were 15 people interested in running for Congress under a "Ron Paul" liberty platform, if anyone has some names to share, please leave it in the comments section.
2. I know and understand there IS a media bias against our movement. The media is part of the establishment, and our movement seeks to change it. But reading about it in almost every article is redundant. The message of being ignored is past the point of useful and speeding towards counter productive, it comes off as whiny and pathetic. It is an obsticle to overcome, not an excuse for failure.

Good article.  I particularly like the idea of supporting candidates for Congress.  Ron Paul has done a good job in Congress and as a candidate for President in supporting a liberty agends, but having a voting group (albeit a small one) in Congress would be even more valuable.

It doesn't matter how Ron Paul runs, as a write-in, as a Republican, or as a Libertain; the GOP establishment isn't going to help him. If they would endorse the Democrat in his congressional district, they will roll over and play dead for Hillrak Obanaton in the general.

So since he has to count on his own resources anyway, the question remains where can he get the most exposure? Within the GOP, of course.

We should stay the course, step up the rhetoric, drop a lot more money bombs, recruit more precinct leaders and hope for a miracle or two (or least, no disaters). The time to leave the GOP will be when they bring out their dirty tricks campaign at the convention. A mass walk-out looks like pouting when you don't really have a reason, it looks principled when someone else pulls a dirty trick.

Then Ron Paul can blame the GOP for forcing him out. {future press conference} "I had no intention of running as an independent, but the Republican party liberal leadership has left me with no alternative after {insert dirty trick here} I call on all good Republicans everywhere to leave the liberals in your own party, and come join us conservatives over here."

Then again, no man ever knows the future.  It's in G-d's hands now. We just have to trust in Him.

Hey guys, McCain is not qualified to be president. He was not born in any of the 50 states of the american union ie: USA

See the 14th amendment of the constitution and check out this link, by the way.

The Ron Paul Revolution has just begun to fight!  Dr. Paul has stated that he will not run as a 3rd party canidate, and he should be true to his word!   If you for one minute think there are fair elections, have been listening to WAY too much mainstream media pro-establishment rhetoric. You are brainwashed and I and many others should pray  for your souls!

T.J.  who was that directed at?  I am clearly a supporter, and I wrote this the day before he said he would not run as a 3rd party candidate.  But pray for my soul anyway, I can use all the help I can get =)
