Conservative GOP Concedes 2008 Election The events occurring during the CPAC and in the MSM show conservatives looking to 2012by R.K. Chase

Conservative media pundits and conservatives within the Republican Party have made it apparent that the 2008 election will be conceded to the Democrats. Voter turn-out during the primaries has overwhelmingly benefited the Democrats. Ann Coulter said that if McCain were running against Hillary she would vote for the conservative - Senator Clinton, and Pat Buchanan recently said that McCain would "make Cheney look like Ghandi." When Laura Ingram introduced Romney at the CPAC, she said, "Of all the people introducing the three remaining candidates for President, I get to introduce the conservative. Mitt Romney is the conservative's conservative." McCain was booed by hard-line conservatives at that same convention. Yesterday, FOXnews mistakenly labeled him as a democrat (D-AZ) during Cavuto's broadcast.
It is not only the media that has been taking shots at McCain. During the CPAC, Tom Delay said that McCain flooded the room with his supporters to help drown out the boos, taking an open shot at the GOP frontman.
The Republicans are looking forward to 2012, Laura Ingram made that clear to OReilly. Bush's reign of terror has proven too detrimental for the party to overcome, and with all the comparisons being drawn between Bush and McCain, it would not be prudent to support his election.
However, regardless of the demands by the conservative punditocracy, the GOP voters must choose someone on the ballot this November. This provides an opportunity for fringe groups to wield significant influence on how the Party realigns itself for 2012. The right wing think tanks and Republican Party leaders will take note of where their principle voters go in the absence of a conservative option.
