What I have decided to do about the remaining election cycle.

People may be asking themselves why Ron is continuing his campaign after such a poor showing on Super Tuesday? Why would he bother? The reason is, that Ron Paul is seasoned and understands more about how elections work than the average citizen does. In the last few months I have given a greater committment to this campaign than to any other campaign in my personal voting history. I have learned a lot about how the nominating process works.

Ron Paul has taught me that when it comes to who is the Presidential nominee only one thing matters: Delegates! I have also learned that it is not the number of pledged delegates that matter. The most important issue is how many delegates your candidate can move at the convention toward his or her position. This process is so complicated that a vote on Super Tuesday, in a primary or caucus, means almost nothing.

The real voting takes place in November of 2008 between the two nominees. This is a fact that in all my years as a citizen, I never understood. I went down, voted, and considered that it was all done. So many shenanigans have happened in this campaign season that as a citizen I am appalled at the power of both the media and the entrenched elite. If you haven't already read my articles on what happened in Louisiana, have a look here: [link edited for length] & [link edited for length]?

This kind of thing has been going on in other states as well. Montana went so far to change the rules so that the average conservative citizen in Montana could not vote unless they were on a committee, or board position in the state GOP. They turned the power of the people over to the power of the GOP leadership. Even then, Ron Paul won 3rd place in very libertarian Montana. California changed their entire slate of voting rules. It was reported in various sources that New Hampshire had obvious tampering with vote boxes. And the beat goes on...

When Super Tuesday didn't go as well as I would have liked, I went through a process. I sat around brooding over what I saw as a tragedy for America. I considered not even registering to vote anymore. I was essentially very frustrated.

However, I have decided that if Ron Paul is still going to fight, so am I. I am going to participate in the process right down to the wire, because I believe that there is a good chance for Ron to get enough delegates to make some sort of difference at the national convention. We can all help him. We can all have an effect. It takes a courageous man to stand alone for freedom and liberty, but I will not let Ron Paul stand alone. I will stand with him until he decides that enough is enough. I will continue to work to help him to gather more delegates.

Ron's point is that with the MSM blacking him out, it is really difficult to get his message out to the millions of people who were voting at Super Tuesday. However, the delegates at the GOP convention, are a small group of people who can be moved in the event of a brokered convention.

Mitt Romney's escape from the race today, is an attempt to reduce the likelihood of a brokered convention. The elite are afraid of a brokered convention. They are afraid of a fractured party. However, they have already insured a fractured party, by the candidates that that have been put forward supposedly as viable.

Huckabee came away a big winner on Super Tuesday. I believe that he can capture even more states as we go along. I don't see him dropping out of the race, as considering his stubborn refusal to leave, in spite of lack of funds and inability to campaign adequately, I believe Huckabee wants the Presidency. His record as far as fracturing the Republican Party in Arkansas, clearly shows he is not one to put party before political desire. In addition, I see Ron Paul gathering quite a few more delegates as well, since his home state is coming up. I think (and Ron Paul thinks) there is a very good chance for a brokered convention.

All of Romney delegates are now loosed from those states that require them to vote for the candidate who won the popular vote. Many of those states never wanted McCain, or they would have voted for him. McCain has some serious flaws as a candidate. Many conservatives will not support him, including myself. He is talking a good game about uniting the party, but the party will not unite under him.

Perception is a huge part of this fight. We cannot afford for the American public to see the supporters of Ron Paul waver and and waffle in our support. We must educate. We must provide unwavering support. We must continue to donate! We must make money bomb days bigger and better! We must fight and campaign in the 21 states left to vote.

We can make a difference! Sometimes we must take a stand, even when it seems foolish. Sometimes we must be laughed at and ridiculed for doing what is right. If never before, THIS is one of those times. The values of America are at stake! BECOME a Delegate if it is still possible in your state!

You go Dee Ann!!  All of us need to stay with the campaign during the run.  If Dr. Paul doesn't get the nomination then I will do what I can to support his campaign for Congress.  He really put his seat in jeopardy for us and he deserves are help there if the brokered convention doesn't materialize or if our favorite living founder doesn't get the nod.  No matter, after November keep on the fight as well...we need to fill Congress with like minded people to work with Dr. Paul.  We need to flood state and local government positions as well.  Many laughed at the founding fathers, they ended up trying to board ships to get back to England as the Patriots defeated the Loyalists and Brits!  Your article is inspiring, thumbs way up!!

Just to update one fact, Ron Paul got 2nd in MT to Romney who suspended his campain today.

our 25 delagates ore now considered free to vote       ( not bound in the first round by Romney, he's gone )

They should see the influx of conservatives for Paul and vote for him, McCain has no or very little support here in MT

I became a Republican commiteeman and voted for Dr Paul in our Lake County caucus for Paul. We won our county and many others

Nevada Paul was 2nd place, Paul beat Huck in Utah, Beat McCain in Alaska, I think a lot of the delegates were for Ron Paul in some of these elections where people didn't know what was going on. They just came out and voted, while the Ron Paul supporters became delegates. If this happened in more places on a lower scale and all these caucus' go to county and state for Ron Paul, there may be some weird way it could work I guess, but I think the dems have people brainwashed this year.
