McCain Vs. Paul

With Romney out and Huckabee stating he will accept the VP, the only Republican option left is Ron Paul.

This is what we have waited for: One on One. It will be up to us to make sure that Paul has enough money to continue this fight. It will be up to us to make sure that the rest of the states get to voice a preference. It will be up to us to make sure that there are debates between Paul and McCain. The Time is Now.

What are the odds McCain would accept an invitation to a debate with Dr. Paul? Pretty slim, I'd say.

$100 bucks says McCain wins. Come on, guys, somebody step up and put your money where your mouth is.

If you win, I give that $100 and $500 more to the Ron Paul campaign. I win, you take your $100 and donate it to a local homeless shelter or foster home or pro-life fund or church (your choice).

May the best man win!

McCain is as good as crowned, there will be no brokered convention, RP will likely not get a chance to speak. There will be no more debates, the powers that be have locked this one up. The only question now, is how do we proceed without a feasible venue?

Re logical premise...here lies the problem with Americans...you pick candidates like you pick players in  sports pool. Could care less what team they were on...only that you win the pool at the end at the expence of eveyone else

The only source missing that you could be referring to is Huckabee's comments this morning on the Today Show.  You are encouraged to interpret this as you wish.

MIKE HUCKABEE: Matt, we're still in this until somebody gets 1,191 delegates, the magic number to become the nominee. And until that happens, just ask the New York Giants what can happen near the end of the game.

MATT LAUER: Yeah, but you did not close the door on me there, Governor. Would you say this morning that you would consider at some point, if you don't think you can reach that magic number of delegates, would you consider the vice-presidential slot on a ticket with John McCain?

HUCKABEE: Well, let's go ahead and be honest now. Nobody ever wants the vice-president's job; nobody ever turns it down.

GOP has no chance with a pro-war stance against the Democrats.   GOP must have at least have a anti-war stance to compete with the Dems.   It is a sad day when someone who sings Bomb Bomb Iran could even possibly get nominated, it says as much about the candidate as to the votes who support this un-presidential behavior.   Go Ron Go

LP,

McCain would need to know what he believes in to have a chance at winning a true debate.  We are not talking about winning a popularity contest.  We are talking about substance, not emotional arguments.

"$100 bucks says McCain wins. Come on, guys, somebody step up and put your money where your mouth is.

I fail to see why betting on the election would make any difference between what is actually good or bad for this country.  The best man very often doesn't win, and most likely isn't even one of your choices on election day.  McCain beating Paul will not make the naysayers right.  Afterall, this is the country that elected FDR 4 times.

So let me get this straight, if Ron Paul doesn't get elected that means he wasn't the best candidate?  Come on, you've got logical right in your name.  This is the country that elected FDR 4 times.

Ron Paul supporters I suggest you start collecting names so you can have Ron Paul put on your respective state's ballot as an independent.

If Ron won't run as an independent I say we draft him...

But in case it is a brokered convention Ron Paul having his name on the general election ballot could be a strong bargaining chip.

Just an idea... Considering the caliber of the other candidates out there and the American people (in general) asleep at the wheel  those few true patriots must have some sorta of "Hail Mary Play" to use.

Ron Paul is way ahead of us. Remember at the debate he had the opportunity to ask one other candidate a question.

Why did he choose McCain? Did Ron see what was ahead? Looks like it!

Time to donate. It is only your money. You'll spend it on something. But your mirror will still be in your bathroom in November. Will you be able to look at yourself? Yes, proudly, if you know you gave when it began to really hurt. You can do no less for your children and grandchildren!

ron paul is the only anti-war canidate. Clinton will leave the troops in Iraq as long as she can. Obama has said that he would pull out of Iraq.....but those troops would then go into pakistan, so you still have the same undeclared war, just in another nation. the dems are hoping McCain gets the nod, as mccain wont bring up the points i just did, ron paul on the other hand would remind the dems about there position every chance he gets. Clinton or obama can not defeat ron paul in a presidential election. the only thing clinton and obama know about money is that it has dead presidents on it, how does that help the economy. abolish the fed and repeal the income tax
