Remnants Using the Tool - Call to Action

This article describes individual actions necessary to win the GOP nomination for Ron Paul

The recent tactics by RedState.com to pretend Ron Paul does not exist are not unique. If you go to Sean Hannity's site you'll also find that he thinks Ron Paul does not exist. An article distributed by Breitbart over the weekend focuses on seventy something candidates, Mick Gravel and Ron Paul but no mention of John McCain of the fact that Fred Thompson looks and acts 10 years older than his nearly 68 years. All over the internet, a grand illusion is being painted. I don't believe it is a centrally coordinated conspiracy but I do believe it is indicative of the mindset of some people in positions of authority and responsibility in the GOP and in the main stream media. These people haven't yet realized that the Internet has turned their opaque world transparent and crystal clear to anyone who has the inclination to look.

Even more disturbing to me is the way this mindset permeates down to the lowest level-party functionaries; the GOP County Chairperson.
As a statewide coordinator for neighborhood grass roots activity and especially neighborhood canvassing and GOP precinct contacts, my wife has uncovered many counties where the GOP County Chairperson does not or cannot perform their duties. Specifically, they are supposed to be candidate neutral facilitators for county residents who wish to participate in the local GOP primary or caucus. The GOP membership has been so apathetic that many counties simply do not have a chairperson who knows the correct information.  In other counties, the chairpersons are deliberately inhibiting participation. We cannot presume this is based on their personal attitudes toward Ron Paul because most people aren't announcing their preference when asking for county GOP information. It appears that the GOP has gotten so used to low participation rates that the influx of new, or newly active membership is overwhelming people who haven't had to actually do anything as a county chairperson for the past several decades.

If you plan to participate in your neighborhood primary or caucus activity please do not procrastinate. You must contact your county chairperson as an interested party who needs to know when and where your local primary or caucus activity will take place. Many precincts simply do not have a precinct committee person so you may immediately volunteer to fill that position if vacant. We have already filled several precinct chair positions and a couple county chair positions in the Mountain States.

Also, neighborhood canvassing is the MOST effective way to mobilize support for Ron Paul at your precinct nomination activity. Person to person volunteer grass roots actions are the best way to do this. All the public spectacles, sign waving, mob chanting, bullhorn wielding talk radio buffoons are wearing thin on the disgruntled, apathetic core conservatives. Many of these folks would love to support Ron Paul but they think his support comes from nut balls and fruitcakes. They are afraid of the fear-mongering disciples of Alex Jones and his fear-based infotainment nonsense. They respond very well to Ron Paul's message which is NOT the same as the message the poison Ron Paul fans are spreading with their mob activities, public spectacles and blatant vandalism.

There is a wonderful guide on how to canvass neighborhoods located at the files section of the yahoo groups Ron Paul 2008 message board. This guide will empower individuals to break from the mob and take responsibility for their own liberty. This activity should be viewed as blueberry picking, not evangelical activity. You can't convince a blueberry to be ripe. The canvassing guide provides great tips for mobilizing Ron Paul primary supporters an avoiding mobilizing the opposition. Don't listen to the conspiracy groupies who think that stealth must be used to 'infiltrate' the GOP. If you are a Republican, no infiltration is necessary. Just show up and participate. The funny thing is that anyone who would agree that stealth is necessary couldn't be stealthy if their life depended on it because all they can do is spew their own opinions about things talk radio personalities tell them to fear. They lack the ability to participate in local politics because doing so in a respectable, responsible way does not serve to stroke their ego or fuel their outrage. Doing what is necessary to win a nomination is far too boring for these short-attention-span-theater junkies.

Our enemies are counting on the poison fan mobs to be the majority of Ron Paul's support. Don't prove them right. If 1-in-100 Ron Paul supporters do their neighborhood canvassing, we will win. If one-in-1000 do it we will make a good showing but we will lose. If 1-in-10,000 do it we will be a laughing stock for years to come. Talking to our neighbors is hard; scary even. Every individual has to decide if they value their own liberty enough to feel the fear and do the canvassing anyway or if they just want the comfort of an outraged mob, win or lose. Use the guide, stay focused, be happy about your participation because this isn't a one time deal. If you believe in Ron Paul's message you must continue promoting it through your participation every year, from now on. If you hope a little bit of effort this year will fix everything so you can return to your couch and more American Idol or Dancing with the Stars, forget it. We have a chance to make history in the 2008 election cycle but more importantly, we have a chance to create a better future for the rest of our lives. It is that, or we consign our youth to the breeding program for the forever wars that both the Democratic and Republican Party leaders envision as our only course for the future.
Yours in peace, prosperity and individual liberty
