Ron Paul Picks Up 40th Anti-Illegal Immigration Endorsement This isn't being talked about like Huckabee's Chuck Norris or Obama's Kennedy or McCain's Crist endorsement yet there is good reason these groups endorse Ron Paul.by Gary Wood

The mainstream media is filled with endorsements for political candidates this primary season leading up to Super Tuesday tomorrow. Somehow they've missed the fact Congressman Ron Paul of Texas picked up his 40th Anti-Illegal Immigration endorsement. The latest endorsement is by the group March for America.
According to Jonnie Crivelo, Leader/National Organizer for March for America, "A champion of American sovereignty, he believes in borders and our future as a nation state. He willend illegal immigration and birthright citizenship." The group finished their announcement by urging people to join with them. "March for America is proud to endorse Ron Paul and we hope you'll join us in that endorsement in 2008!"
Patriots for Ron Paul is one of many websites listing all the groups and individuals committed to securing our borders that have endorsed Ron Paul. The website's comments included the reason they endorse Ron Paul for President. "Numerous anti-illegal immigration groups and leaders in the American Patriot Movement have officially endorsed Congressman Ron Paul for President because of his tough, but fair approach to solving America's illegal immigration crisis and other serious problems."
Even as the major primary date is upon us many have not seen Dr. Paul's 6-point plan for stopping illegal immigration. Many who have watched each of the televised debates may have heard him attempt to get his message out while being extremely limited on time during the events. There's a reason so many who are passionate about this issue have selected Ron Paul as the candidate worthy of their endorsement.
In reading through the many different endorsements it becomes clear illegal immigration is not the only reason these groups have chosen Ron Paul as their candidate. There is also an appreciation for his stance for changing our foreign policy to one of non-intervention, restoring our monetary system, and focusing on ending the IRS and income taxation by dramatically cutting the wasteful spending by the Federal government. Crivello states, "Ron Paul is the only candidate for We the People."

Although the Constitution allows Congress the enumerated power to determine the rule of naturalization, which determines citizenship, it does not mention illegal immigration.
I do hope Ron Paul will stop making anti-illegal immigration such an issue. It is a tempest in a teapot. Truly a non-issue that is at odds with a libertarian worldview and a concern for human rights. Non-violent immigrants are here to work in spite of the hysterical claims and misinformation of conservative and nativist websites, some of them outright xenohophic with racist undertones.
A lot of these "minutemen" don't know that Ron Paul has called the idea of a border fence"silly" in a the John Stossel ABC interview or that his main way to stop illegal immigration is by reforming the Welfare State.
Even Antiwar.com's Justin Raimondo, who has been Ron Paul's most vocal and dedicated defender on the newsletter controversy, was just as sickened as I was by the Ron Paul immigration commercials.
Get your facts straight Abe. In opinion polls illegal immigration has consistantly remained in the top three concerns of AMERICANS. Perhaps you should ask some. As our economy stands today, new immigrants are not needed. If the US economy were booming with more jobs than workers this would not be a big issue. The truth is we have rising unemployment among US citizens and immigrants working here illegally. This is unacceptable. There is no job Americans are "too lazy to do." The fact is Americans are unwilling to work for slave labor wages because the American dream and way of life is that of single family homes with two parents and some children. The illegal immigrants from Mexico do not assimilate to American culture, but rather bring their extended family philosophy with them to America. When there are six to ten adults living in one home, even with slave labor wages they can afford an illegal mortgage on a house they should not be allowed to own. This makes it very hard for Americans to compete in their own job market. The American dream is becoming more and more difficult because Americans are having to compete against illegals willing to work for such low wages and no benefits. Illegal immigrants take advantage of the American taxpayer by using the ER at the local hospital as their health care provider -free of charge. This is why we have seen so many hospital closures in the southern states. The hospitals just could not afford to keep losing money while being forced to treat illegals free of charge. Not only did those communities lose their hospitals, but they lost all the jobs created by the operations of those hospitals. It is clear illegal immigration is a cancer in this country rotting it out from within. Illegal immigration is a large burden on American taxpayers so please do not think for a moment it is a "non issue." Ask an American, they will tell you this.
James, you're referencing polls for the top three issues for REPUBLICANS, which includes neo-cons, social conservatives, extremist Christians and Hannity clones.
In 22 national public opinion polls conducted last year, 50%-83% of Americans supported some type of pathway to legalization for undocumented workers. In almost every competitive race in the 2006 congressional elections that matched an anti-immigration candidate against one that supported comprehensive immigration reform, the anti-immigrant candidate lost.
Now I'm not one to base a political opinion on polls, since I support the Ron Paul vision of abolishing the FED, the IRS, the Pentagon, the CIA, the U.S. overseas empire and the War on Drugs. But if you're going to claim that polls support your position I think you might want to double-check your facts.
It's not the immigrants' fault that hospitals are forced to treat them for free. You can blame that on big government. Now I'm not Mexican, but last time I checked extended family philosophy was a good thing, part of our American history and even encouraged in the Bible. So helping your relatives to find jobs roofing houses, picking fruit and cleaning bathrooms is somehow un-American and immoral?
Oh and I'm also the son of an illegal immigrant. Go figure. If they had deported my dad that would have been one less Ron Paul Revolutionary. :-) We now have six Ron Paul fans in my household! Yes, my dad is now a citizen and just voted for the good Doctor himself.
"James, you're referencing polls for the top three issues for REPUBLICANS, which includes neo-cons, social conservatives, extremist Christians and Hannity clones."
Ron Paul is seeking the Republican Party nomination is he not?
Also, there was an editorial in Investors Business Daily which showed in those cities where government (read: taxpayer) services given to illegal imigrants were eliminated illegal immigrants left to go to another city where government services were readily available or they left the US to go back to the country from which they came.
Why is this? Because illegal immigrants come to this country for the free health care, low income housing, food stamps, low cost phone, natural gas, and electric utility services, free education, free childcare, and so on. Who pays for these handouts. Taxpayers do. And it is against our will.
I live in California and those services have bankrupted the state. Can we afford this?
Jose, Americans go to Tijuana for cheap liquor, tacos and entertainment. So what's your point. When any immigrant from any country comes to earn money in this country they also spend money. Sure they send money back home, inadverdently helping to prop up a U.S. Dollar overseas that is on the verge of a depression. The money they spend here on commodities, housing, and *gasp* even medical expenses outside the ER helps to prop up our failing economy. An editorial in Investors Business you say? Was that a scientific study? How many immigrants did they track? Did they say how much money the cities lost in economic transactions?
Below is the story of how one illegal immigrant has left such a terrible mark on our country. Pity you won't find it on any anti-illegals site. Maybe we should ship them all back. Maybe Abraham Lincoln had it right when he chose to deal with the slavery issue by forcibly shipping all the Negroes back to Liberia? I think not.
Just one person's view on illegal aliens. Back when I was asked to be a House candidate by the LP I ran to promote an agenda of repealing the 16th, the issue that I was heavily involved with on radio and meetings across Vegas in the early 90s. One libertarian philosophy I never got my arms around and a key reason for not remaining registered (besides the infighting for power) was the stance on illegal aliens as it is believed to be a non-violent crime. I am the first to not blame those coming to this country illegally, it is the fault of our policies, not theirs. I cannot blame anyone for wanting to go where there is a chance to better their family. If we would fix our failed policies the number of people risking life as an illegal alien would dramatically decline.
Personally, the harm that fell on my family from illegal workers occured to my brother. He was a highly skilled, fairly well paid mason. Through the 70s and early 80s he perfected his craft and his rewards were increasing with his skill. Some of his work even graced Archetecural Digest. This began to change during the end of the 80s, throughout the 90s, and into the 21st century. Wages began first to decline as companies opted for lower quality in exchange for lower pay to illegal aliens. It finally reached a level this proud, highly skilled, quality mason began earning less than he did as an unskilled hotty in the 70s.
Even striking out on his own created three grueling years as his bids could not compete with the cheap labor and he refused to hire illegal aliens, his business crumbled. At times his skills were called upon for the areas of a project needing a masters touch but once that aspect of the job was completed he was laid off and the illegal aliens were kept on. Not only did his pay decline so did the steadiness of his employment. He is not the only one who lost their job and profession. Every time I hear illegal aliens do the work citizens won't you can imagine my reaction.
This is beyond the flaws of our policies, beyond proper guest worker visas, beyond polls, beyond the drain. I'm glad some of these people were able to improve their family and their life but I know too many citizens who lost their quality of life, including my brother, due to a portion of these workers and our failed policies. Again, just a more personal look. I now return you to your debate...
NOT MUCH OF WHAT ANY OF YOU HAS WRITTEN HAS ANY RELEVANCE. WHY? BECAUSE WE, AS AMERICANS, HAVE TO ATTACK THE ROOT PROBLEM OF OUR COUNTRY...THE CORRUPT, RICH, POWERFUL, AND GREEDY. ONLY THEN WILL BE ABLE TO SOLVE OUR DIFFICULT PROBLEMS. IT'S ALWAYS BEEN THE SAME STORY THROUGHOUT HISTORY....THE RICH AND POWERFUL WITH THEIR CORRUPTION AND ARROGANCE TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE PEOPLE, UNTIL THE PEOPLE ARE SO OPPRESSED THEY REVOLT....THE SAME THING WILL HAPPEN IN OUR COUNTRY. ALL GREAT COUNTRIES FALL EVENTUALLY. OURS IS NO EXCEPTION. IT'S A NOBLE THOUGHT THAT SOME THINK ONE MAN, RON PAUL, COULD POSSIBLY TURN AROUND A COUNTRY WHICH IS IN SUCH A DOWNWARD SPIRAL ECONOMICALLY, MORALLY, ETC., AND HAS BEEN FOR DECADES....BUT, WHOSE FAULT IS THAT? AFTERALL, WE (THE PEOPLE) WERE ALL TOLD THAT THIS WAS PROGRESS AND "DIVERSITY". WELL, GUESS WHAT? WE TRUSTED OUR LEADERS AND NOW IT'S TIME TO PAY THE PIPER. I SUPPOSE IF THERE ARE ENOUGH VOTES FOR DR. PAUL, THIS, IN AND OF ITSELF, MIGHT HELP WAKE UP OUR SO-CALLED REPRESENTATIVES TO THE FACT THAT MILLIONS ARE FED UP WITH THE STATIS QUO.
