 SAN DIEGO

Several hundred enthusiastic Ron Paul supporters rallied at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park on Saturday.Part of the crowd at the Spreckles Organ Pavillion in Balboa Park The rally was even covered by local station 7/39 on the evening news, although they couldn't seem to resist the obligatory comments implying that Ron Paul's chances are slim. Of course, this reporter sees no remotely equivalent demonstrations for the few other remaining Republican presidential candidates, do you?

Many of the supporters had  marched two miles from downtown San Diego, carrying signs and chanting their support for Ron Paul and his message of Freedom.

You could hear their chant from blocks away:

"Who do you want?" "Ron Paul!"
"Why do you want him?" "Freedom!"
"Who do you want?" "Ron Paul!"
"Why do you want him?" "Freedom!"Ron Paul Micro-Blimp Floats Over Rally

San Diego's own "Ron Paul Micro-Blimp" floated serenely over the crowd as a beacon to draw park visitors to the rally.Crash Encore Elizabeth Blane was  there. Elizabeth had the idea for the microblimp and organized its purchase. The micro blimp is looking for a new San Diego area home.

The crowd was favored with music by "Crash Encore," "Bedford Grove," and "Emily Richard's Band." Several guest speakers provided brief but stirring speeches about topics ranging from Health Freedom to the Gold Standard.Bedford Grove The crowd responded enthusiastically to calls for returning America to its original principles as embodied in the Constitution.

Mike Benoit, the fearless leader of the San Diego Ron Paul Meetup Group, saw to it that there were large quantities of very reasonably priced campaign materials and signs available to help in the final push towards Super Tuesday. Mike also presented a talk, encouraging supporters to get out the vote on Super Tuesday.Campaign Materials

Vincent Mross spoke of a new website, http://www.calltalkradioforron.com/ - a database of talk radio programs from coast to coast where Ron Paul supporters can call in and help spread the message of freedom. The website helps supporters locate radio shows according to the time of day and their time zone.

As is predominantly the case all across America, this event was entirely planned, funded, and staged by volunteer efforts of the many, many local citizens who have been inspired and are devoted to Dr. Ron Paul's message of the Freedom that naturally results from limiting the power of government to interfere in our private lives.

God Bless Ron Paul, and long live Freedom in America!

If you go to my homepage here:

Takes me back to my youth at Balboa...this further shows not all CA folks are liberals.  Nice update to further activities surrounding the campaign.
