My opinions on the candidates

In tonight's rant, I briefly spout off about how I view the republicans presented to us for our viewing displeasure.

McClown is just an angry, angry man. He is legendary for his short fuse and big mouth, and is continuing to alienate the conservative masses with his arrogance and flippant attitudes.

Romney is a sham, just another pretty face. GQ looks and a business background are his ticket to ride, although he cannot be counted on to maintain a solid position on any issue- he flips for the majority as it suits him. That's been proven oft enough.

Huckabee gets no sympathy from me, even now as he is getting the Ron Paul treatment in the media as well. His evangelical approach to his campaign got him some early love, but he's another one who can't come up with a solid issue to get behind. Now that his ultra-religious presentation isn't panning out, he's resorted to stealing issues from who else but Dr. Paul. "Abolish the IRS!" he now says- something Ron Paul has been preaching for 20-odd years in Congress.

I have to admit that there are a couple of issues which I do not agree with Ron Paul on- but they are trivial in comparison to the greatest issue facing the country right now, and that is the economy. Each and every one of the
establishment candidates says they'll give a tax cut- but not a single one of them is going to tell you how they intend to facilitate that tax cut. What spending do they intend to curb? What bureaucratic gorilla do they plan to kill in order to offset the lack of taxes? They can't tell you, because there isn't anything. The tax break they propose is a myth- whatever legislation they try to implement will be so offensive to democrats that it will be shot down, and then they will blame a democratically-controlled congress for destroying their proposed tax break.

I feel badly for those folks who are so mired into the status quo that they can't see this game of politics as little more than pro wrestling with suits and ties. It's a game, and they are using us as pawns in it.
