Schwarzenegger Changes Mind, Endorses McCain

Just when you thought Arnold was talking straight about not endorsing anyone...

In a CNN interview yesterday Arnold Schwarzenegger assured viewers he had not been involved in any endorsements and would not be endorsing anyone until after the primaries. He declared it was the best move he could make. Evidently he changed his mind just a short time later as rumors began to fly that he would endorse John McCain today. First hearing the rumors I was certain they were false as I had just listened to his comments about waiting until after the primaries.

Mitt Romney probably wishes he would have stuck to his words. However, the Governor of California showed he was no longer an actor and definitely a politician. His announcement signaled loud and clear he has learned the art of saying one thing while fully intending to do the opposite. Based on that it is not a surprise to see him endorse John McCain today after declaring he wouldn’t the day before.

Everyone is entitled to change their minds. I’m curious if we will hear John McCain accuse the Governor of flip-flopping on the issue, probably not. Being the entrenched and skilled politician that he proved to be in the CNN debates Senator McCain would never point to an endorsement in any negative light. In fact he will want to add Arnold Schwarzenegger to his deck of endorsement playing cards.

The next time anyone dare to question him on infringing on State’s rights in favor of Federal mandates we know what his answer will be. "I’m very proud of my record, it’s a good record, and besides if that were the case then Governor Crist of Florida would not endorse me, Governor Schwarzenegger of California would not endorse me, I can assure you of that and that is just some straight talk." Just like the straight talk we got from Schwarzenegger yesterday. You gotta love politics!

Arnold is being political here. McCain said he agreed with Bush when he stopped Cali from putting its on emmisions rules in. . .and Romney said he believed in the power of the State. When I heard that I thought arnold was deciding who to endorse and I assumed Romney would get it based on that and now its McCain? McCain disagrees with him.
