After The Ron Paul rEVOLution Is Dead, The Revolution Is Nigh
After the rEVOLution is dead, we should take this momentum and fight! by M Cal

The Ron Paul rEVOLution is just that: a dramatic shift in political awareness and activism among the disenfranchised. Ron Paul represents a cure to the apathy that has plagued us for a generation. Indeed, it is a peaceful revolution to be brought about by the process of voting. But it just may be that the complete exclusion of Ron Paul by the mainstream media (notably by Anderson Cooper in California) will lead to the impossibility of him being the GOP candidate. So, when Dr. Paul is all but defeated, what becomes of the revolution he started? Will it merely fade away and be regarded by history as a mere curiosity, to be remembered as the overzealous following generated by the ideas of a kook congressman? An anomaly?
Ron Paul could run as an independent (or Libertarian), as I don't see him becoming McCain or Romney's veep, and most likely lose to the Democratic candidate. Ultimately though, we will be doomed to more of the same: Clinton, Obama, McCain, and Romney are all frightening prospects.
So, after Ron Paul, what?
The answer: REVOLUTION. And I'm not talking about the Ron Paul rEVOLution 'let's raise awareness from the grass roots level and try to put a dent in this gigantic political behemoth we call Washington,' I'm talking about taking to the streets. I'm talking about taking the power back from those who have taken it from us, and defending ourselves against the government, as is our constitutional right, given to us by the second amendment. At this point, reinstating the ideals of the constitution is revolutionary because it is contrary to the current state of affairs. But to forcibly replace this government with the one we're supposed to have, the one proscribed by our founding fathers in the constitution, can only be done by force. It could have been done peacefully and easily by the good Dr. Paul, had he not been marginalized by the media.
I will continue to raise awareness about Ron Paul and his rEVOLution. But when we're stuck with a McCain/Clinton battle for the White House with Ron Paul as a third-party candidate, there is no hope. At that point we must take to arms, and as freedom fighters and patriots, reclaim this country.

Got to be careful, please, remember they removed the habeas corpus from our system. I feel your pain, Mike, may be even more. I escaped a communist country to enjoy American freedoms. Look at what's happening now? A repeat of the things I lived when I was a little girl in my native country, Cuba. Believe me, my frustration doubles yours.
The use of violence is almost never the answer or solution to any problem, particularly political problems. Violence begets violence, and its use to bring political change tends to validate it as a legitimate method or tool. That having been said, “it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish (a Government), and to institute new Government”, “whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive” of their rights to “Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”. As long as peaceful means are available to bring about that change, it is the preferred course of action. However, if the government becomes repressive to a degree in which continued loyalty constitutes an unbearable burden and the life we lead is devoid of liberty, then it is the duty of each citizen to protect the rights granted them by nature and God. I believe this nation is very far from such a condition such as would demand actions of this nature, although we are much closer than many would have ever believed or I ever feared. For now, our remaining liberties give us the tools to protect our lives and freedom through peaceful resistance.
No Jim they don't, their guns are just bigger.
Mike,
This idea that we need to resort to Armed Revolution, is contradiction of the goals of the rEVOLution. Battles in the backyards and streets of this country would be disastrous. In the words of Otter in "Animal House" 'We could use conventional weapons, but it would take years and millions of lives'. While the possibility of regaining control of our government may seem bleak it is still possible. We should prepare for the worst, but act in the interest of attaining the best. We should work to change our government from within, from the local, to the state, to the federal level if necessary. We should try to slip into a defense appropriations bill the requirement that all members of the Armed Forces are required to be issued a copy of the Constitution (& bill of rights, declaration of independence, etc) which they swear to 'uphold and defend against all enemies foreign and domestic' so that they may confidently choose righteousness if the worst should come to pass.
Yes, we are moving to fascism, but we are not there yet. Only when the SWAT teams are completely federalized and turned against the people will I break out my arms room for the cause of liberty. At that point we will have proof of "their" intent, at that point we will have the backing of the vast majority of the populace, and at that point we will be able to rise off and shake them off like fleas.
Violence is not the option. Unneeded violence is what got us into Iraq. I refuse to sink that low. A revolution must occur, but it must be done peacefully and with love. It begins with the youth of our country. It begins with grassroots efforts to get people to the polls. The Ron Paul revolution is so strong because it has cured our apathy. We must in turn cure the apathy of the rest of the nation.
Thumbs up for this excellent definition; "The Ron Paul rEVOLution is just that: a dramatic shift in political awareness and activism among the disenfranchised."
OK, first Ron Paul should not run as a third-party or Independent candidate. Lets allow the good Doctor Paul to return to D.C. and take over the Republican Liberty Caucus until such time he chooses to retire. I would not want him to have to endure a third-party campaign, he's done it before, and as a former third-party candidate for Congress I can tell you it is no fun!
Since he's going to be heading up the RLC the revolution needs to switch focus from the big prize of the Presidency to the all important 469 seats up for reelection in the Senate and House. Also, there needs to be a focus on State and local office holders. We need to fill as many seats this year with like minded people. In 2010 there's a chance to do it again with 468 seats up for reelection. We also will have time to strengthen the organization. By 2012 we should be strong enough to attract a candidate for the White House that feels the passion Dr. Paul feels with numbers we cannot yet deliver.
Violent opposition now is a death to the revolution. We are too weak and scattered while the military forces against us are tremendous. I don't know if you've ever seen the power of an A-10 tank killer or not. One day on the range in Alaska we were in the control tower watching one come in for a straffing run. The pilot was too low to see a moose step out from the woods but we saw it. The pilot aimed at the target and in an instance a near 2,000lb moose was anihalated. There was nothing to be found. I say this only as a reminder, we are not yet prepared for such a thing. As Chad said, in time if it comes to that we will do what we need but now is not the time and there is still peaceful solutions. The people today, in mass, would simply consider us terrorists if we went to arms now. We'd be a footnote in history. Instead we have a chance to make history. It will take time but we will win and we can do it without bloodshed if we get our boots on the streets and talk with everyone...all the time...election years and in between, IMHO.
Good comment, Gary. I would not worry about the guns they have. "They" is our Military when it comes to weapons. DEA and FBI etc. are clearly outnumbered. And, "they" are the good guys who are lining up behind Dr. Paul. We might remember that it was the soldiers in Rome that made Claudius Emperor. This does not need to come to violent confrontation. Think of the fantastic organization that can come out of Dr. Paul's campaign bringing us all together. All that remains is to set out the goals and go to work. Together we can educate the public about their history and the founders wisdom and principles. With concerted effort we can make the difference. Take heart all. Managed economies always fail while free economies always succeed. So, when this one begins to fail I figure folks will be ready to listen. Jubilee coming!
It is not quite yet the time to take arms. The day will invariably come - we are on the way to it - perhaps, just not with us personally.
Remember the words of Thomas Jefferson:
"A first attempt to recover the right of self-government may fail, so may a second, a third, etc. But as a younger and more instructed race comes on, the sentiment becomes more and more intuitive, and a fourth, a fifth, or some subsequent one of the ever renewed attempts will ultimately succeed... To attain all this, however, rivers of blood must yet flow, and years of desolation pass over; yet the object is worth rivers of blood and years of desolation. For what inheritance so valuable can man leave to his posterity?" --Thomas Jefferson to John Adams, 1823.
Mike: The issue with Anderson Cooper (CNN), Fox et al - how angry we feel about it - could have the unintended consequences (for them) of generating a lot of sympathy vote for Paul, people like the underdog and he was very effective in the short time to aroused interest among those hearding him for the first time. A win in Maine and/or major endorsements ( Tom McClintock? et al) before Super Tuesday could give Ron Paul movement a lot of momentum. Also to consider: many conservatives int he Republican Party do not trust McCain: that is till a big problem for him, and he can make another mistake or soemthing about hsi past dig up, which could make him unviable. Good that he and not Romney won FL, IMHO, for stratgic reasons. Ther race is still open/undecided.
This election process (2007-2008) is only the first major phase of the Ron paul revolution. Whatever happens, it will NEVER end in the next few weeks/months, will and should be a long-lasting and enduring movement.
"The Ron Paul rEVOLution is just that: a dramatic shift in political awareness and activism among the disenfranchised."
How about among the betrayed?
Here's my plead to conservatives and democrats alike.
The Republican party says it's for lower taxes. It isn't. It passed the largest federal budget in history, and even after it controlled the White House and both houses of Congress, it failed to make a dent in the federal tax burden.
The Republican party says it's for limited government. It isn't. Not only has it failed to reduce the already ridiculous size and power of government, it has drastically increased it.
The Republic party says it's for individual liberties. It isn't. It created the biggest federal bureaucracy in history, and gave it all sorts of new powers to spy on, detain, silence, and otherwise harass Americans.
The Republican party says it believes in the Constitution. It doesn't. It has done absolutely nothing to try to correct the mangling of the "commerce clause" to allow the federal government to stick its nose in everyone's business.
And when someone came along who really IS for lower taxes, limited government, individual liberty, and a return to the Constitution, how did the Republican establishment respond? By smearing, demonizing, demeaning, marginalizing, and insulting him, and trying to silence him. Even though that man is a Republican.
My question is, just how stupid are Republican voters? Just how badly and how often do you need to be betrayed by the totalitarians in the GOP (masquerading as "limited government" advocates) before you stop SUPPORTING their collectivist crap?
"But the Democrats are even worse!"
No, they aren't. They are IDENTICAL. The only difference is in their rhetoric: the Republicans pander to those who want limited government, and the Democrats pander to those who want the nanny state to control and take care of everything. But in action, the two are THE SAME. They are two faces of ONE group of power-happy, war-mongering, fear-mongering, liberty-destroying nationalist/socialists. The suggestion that THOSE are your only choices is a classic tyrant trick. Unfortunately, almost all Americans still fall for it.
Personally, I don't believe in "limited government" any more than I believe in "limited murder," "limited rape," or "limited armed robbery." But for those "limited statists" out there who still believe in the Constitution, stop supporting its demise! If you must vote, and Ron Paul loses the Republican primary--which the Republican establishment is going to great lengths to ensure--vote for him anyway. I don't care whether he runs or not. Write in his name. If instead you hold your nose and vote for the establishment- appointed collectivist, YOU are the problem.
Yes, I am telling you to intentionally destroy the Republican party, because it is an absolute fraud. Of course, the Democratic power machine is equally fraudulent and evil, but by supporting either of them--instead of telling them BOTH to go to hell--you are ENABLING your own enslavement. Quit bickering over which crook is worse, and just STOP SUPPORTING CROOKS. "But then the OTHER guy will win!" So what? I would wager that NO ONE could tell, based only on the legislation passed during the Clinton administration as compared to that passed during the Bush administration, who was on the "left" and who was on the "right." The result is always the same: more power for them, less freedom for you. By supporting EITHER party, you prolong the lie, and assist in your own subjugation.
There is only one person running for President who actually believes in the Constitution, and look how hard his "own" party is trying to silence him. And look who they have running AGAINST him: several left-leaning, tax-and-spend socialists (Huckabee, Romney, McCain and Giuliani). Every one of them is far left of JFK! Is that really what "conseravtives" want? Who exactly is the Republican party "representing"?
Anyone with their eyes open can see that the Republican establishment doesn't CARE what Republican VOTERS want. They are still trying to milk the reputation of Ronald Reagan, while viciously slandering anyone who sounds anything like him. They are just as elitist as the Democrats, having nothing but contempt for your freedom and what YOU want. When thousands of you said "We want Ron Paul!" what did the Republican establishment say? "To hell with you!" Well, it's high time to return the compliment. Maybe the best thing to come out of a Ron Paul presidential run will be a long overdue unmasking and discrediting of the totalitarian elitists club calling itself the Republican party.
We need to run for every office in every part of gov't starting with your home town. I don't care if it's town clerk, run for it, win it and run it like Ron Paul would. Its time we took back the gov't from the thieves and returned it to the people and starting locally is the best way to start. One seat at a time and we will control the states and then the Feds. The crooks weren't in a hurry to do it, its taken them 200 years to succeed. But today technology can help do it in less than 5 years.
Reading this I realize that our country is truly lost. I'm fully aware that this is probably most definitely being monitored by the FBI and CIA right now but even the analyst pouring over these documents can realize that our country has changed. Are we that desperate to actually suggest a real revolution. I'm not saying it's wrong or right but a) Jesus said he who lives by the sword dies by the sword yet b) we did win this country through the revolution so the logical philosophical question is...is the current demise of our country deserved or is a violent revolution deserved to fulfill the live by the sword die by the sword scenario...personally I could not participate in a violent revolution like that...I'm an african american but even if I saw a white supremist I couldn't shoot because that is a fellow american...the cops are corrupt but that's my fellow american..if I'm defending myself or my family (different story) but to change government I couldn't...those in the military are dumb but that's my fellow american...how can you kill someone let's be brutally real about this...say your brother was a member of the swat coming in your house and you had to shoot him first for your revolution to get started could you? Don't take onto your shoulders unavailable courage because you see others do it...
McCain is a coward and so is anyone who supports a war and reduces it to a abstract concept instead of a very real action. McCain doesn't realize that logically by supporting the war he is saying that if he had to kill all the americans and Iraqi's that died all over again even personally he would because it is on his command (not the Congress's anymore) that our troops are sent to War.
I can't tell you how many real discussions I've had with my girlfriend of if you had to leave this country because violence broke out or if the fascism becomes blatant where would you want to go.
But we cannot blame these people....THEY ARE BUT A FEW WE ARE THE MANY!!!!!!!
When I read that there were people in New Hampshire that said...I like Ron Paul he represents all my views I couldn't disagree with him if I tried but I'm still voting for McCain(google it I don't have time)...THAT IS THE PROBLEM... this situation I can only see through a religious perspective...if the devil were going to take over a country I couldn't imagine a better way....he subverts maybe cheats a little...but ultimately let's the people vote him in...
Choice is both the knife that cuts the noose yet stabs our heart on the fall....
I said it once and I'll say it again...had Paul ran in 2000 we'd be winning now...had Paul believed he could actually win we'd be better prepared now...but even with alll of our fuck ups we did something amazing...astounding...WE MADE THEM BLINK!!...neigh WE MADE THE SWEAT...NEIGH...WE MADE THEM HUSTLE....WE MADE THEM BACKSTEP.... WE'VE WON ALREADY....
You know the moment MLK actually won his fight was the day he gave his I have a dream speach...
You know the moment Rosa Parks won was the moment she said no to give up her seat.
You know the moment the Patriots won the Revolution was the moment they had the first meeting of the Sons of Liberty.
Everything after that was just things taking its natural course.
We have won...we shook them up soo much that they are about to run McCain... MCCAIN when they wanted to run Giuliani...WE HAVE WON...and I won't have you mess up the win by this bullshit talking of violent revolution....
SO KINDLY WIPE YOUR TEARS...STOP CRYING LIKE A BITCH AND SHUT THE FUCK UP
because your whining is making it hard for me to hear the cheers 10 years from now....
So now that we've ooze the bitch out of us.... THE NEXT STEP
Romney is going to DropOut Huckabee's gone so unless we can convert Huckabee as VP (cause he was looking kinda pissed off when that limelight didn't beem his way during the debate) or we can call McCain something that any military man hates....
CALL HIS ASS CHICKEN...plain and simple you know if Romney quits and so does Huckabee Start running ads that McCain is scared to debate Paul...and link it with ...
"If he runs from me a "Long Shot Candidate" how is he going to defeat Clinton" and better still...RUN IT IN HIS HOME STATE. NEW YORK. FLORIDA and CALIFORNIA. The ad rates should be cheap then. CALL HIM OUT!!!!!!!!
It may sound stupid may sound simplistic but every REVOLUTION was simple and downright stupid.... (p.s. mike slap yourself for me please...just a little okay...for me)
P.S. please stop this "planning for paul to lose" crap your killing me. The race isn't over by ANY stretch of the imagination. Besides..Paul already made the promise so long as we support and donate he still runs....besides...words have power and I won't have you guys speaking this negativity into existence and turn this into a 100 year thing when it should only be a 10 year thing. I come from the 80's I have a short attention span so let's microwave this thing instead of putting in the oven okay...thanks.
All sheeple, please report to your nearest medical center for your real ID chip implantations today. And, on the way you can drop off all your worthless dollars for the new Amero. Thats, just the beginning when We The People delegate our responsibilities for controlling the government. I really do not feel I can count on the public to wake the F@#! up before things get to such a point as this author describes. The fact is that our fiat currency system will collapse, this is a mathematical certainty, it is only a matter of when. To make matters worse, the rate at which the interest payments build is an exponential function, thus at this point, we do not need to wait so long. Estimates are 2010 to 2014 to get near the point where the GDP equals the amounts needed to pay just the interest on the debt. At this point, the foreign bankers own the ENTIRE country. (ref: http (dot dot slash slash www dot.perfecteconomy dot com/ftp/zipped-pfmpe-multiplication-of-debt-excel-sheets.zip ). Knowledge is power!
You have to watch this stuff. Just talking about armed revolt is enough to get you thrown in a secret prison via the homegrown terrorists act...
While I understand your frustration, the best thing to do would be to move on to house and senate seats and fund them. Pick the Ron Paul candidate closest to you and give them $25. If everyone in the revolution did that, we could have some serious issues raised in the congressional campaigns next fall.
The start was the ideas, then came the networking, then the funding, and now spread it to the congress. Without congressional support, there is no point in having someone like Ron in the Whitehouse anyway.
"We have won...we shook them up soo much that they are about to run McCain... MCCAIN when they wanted to run Giuliani...WE HAVE WON...and I won't have you mess up the win by this bullshit talking of violent revolution...."
It is because of the Ron Paul R3VOLution the Giuliani is not the 'anointed'. We have been following him everywhere!! We need to now take down McCain and Romney with the same tactic and let them know that we are not going away. Beyond that, I think most of us who have posted responses here are in agreement, violence is not our strategy and we should all be suspicious of those who advocate it. Too many tricks and moles these days to buy into violent logic. Yes it is very frustrating, but we must continue and start voting and electing people that value the constitution and rebuke the corporate take over and selling of our nation. WE THE PEOPLE need to run for office. We need to run and vote in LOCAL elections because THAT is how the fed comes in, they are ALLOWED by YOUR LOCAL 'OFFICALS'!! That is what our strategy should be. Everyone pays attention to the 'Superbowl' of politics (the POTUS election) but it's the 'Regular Season Games' (Local Elections and Congress) that get you to the big dance. Good Luck folks!! Those Super Tuesday states VOTE RON PAUL!!! Let's keep it going an not loose heart! May the light of truth shine on you all!!
I completely agree with your frustration over the poor turnout that Ron Paul is having in the primaries. But that is not the govenment voting- that is "we the people"- to call for an all out uprising just because Ron Paul doesn't get elected seems a bit misguided. While you and I may feel more like a wild animal with it's leg caught in a trap in regards to our current political situation there are thousands to ten thousand times more that are content to graze peacefully- while they fatten up for slaughter. Just look at the numbers in the primaries: McCain 1,351,129 votes and Ron Paul 326,528 votes (yep 4:1 for McCain). And these are the people that did vote. So "we the people" perpetuate the problem by doing little to nothing to change the political environment.
So the Ron Paul revolution is a minority- but don't discount it's power for change. And it wouldn't have to involve a violent coup. Special interrest groups have shown over and over that no matter how "fringe" your ideas may be- you can effect change if you doggedly persue your goals [consider how much gay rights have been advanced in the last 30 years]. In my case the Ron Paul campaign identified numerous issues/concerns that I have with the govenment and offered viable solutions. But if I cannot get the masses to be in agreement with the view that Ron Paul is the best candidate in the upcomming election- then I have no choice but to advance my own special interrest agenda in line with the political agenda of Ron Paul. In other words, I'm my own general (not a foot soldier) in making the Ron Paul revolution happen.
