Some people called me crazy when I suggested taking on News Corp. What they didn't realize is that we've already succeeded. by The English Teacher

Yes, I suggested boycotting Fox News, News Corp, and their ilk with the intent of forcing them to make changes and ultimately buying them out and kicking the CEO out. A lot of people have told me I'm crazy.
Maybe so, but I don't like Australians coming to the USA and telling us who we can and cannot vote for and what candidates we can and cannot hear from.
Fox News is already on the ropes (see http://mediamatters.org/columns/200801290001?f=h_top) due to the ire of the Democrats. Their rating is falling and all I am suggesting is that the pro-Ron Paul crowd pile on top of that. What is so crazy about that?
Some have suggested that enough money could never be raised to buy a significant portion of the company. This assumption, of course, is based on the current share price. In case you haven't noticed the stock market is trending down and all the Federal Reserve monkeying around isn't going to change that.
I don't propose to start fighting when all freedom is gone. If you want to stay free, you need to start fighting right now. So from now on CNN is my station of choice. They may not be much better than Fox, but until News Corp comes off their neo-con kick, that's where my channel is set.

Usually with media companies it is easiest to start from scratch: you have no contractual commitments, you start off with the best technology, and everyone wants to work for the new guy on the block.
I won't be buying any FUX NWS stock anytime soon, I hope next year to see it hovering in the low single digits with a completely new ticker symbol, channel name, and commentator lineup. To hasten its demise, I've suggested canceling cable-- it's the only way *not* to subsidize CNN, FOX, and MSNBC.
I too am boycotting Fox News. Further, I refuse to watch CNN or MSNBC as well. I don't need them. I can browse the news on the internet and get better reporting on a broader scale then any of the network news broadcasting companies offer. Plus I don't have to hear a Britteny Spears or Linsey Lohen update every 5 minutes either.
Complain to the FCC regarding each censorship of Dr. Paul. The press is supposed to be fair and objective and if the FCC has enough complaints, they can revoke a channel's license. Stop talking and take action.
