Arnold Puts California Up for Grabs By endorsing John McCain, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger drives the wedge between GOP leaders and core conservative grass roots.by Jahfre Fire Eater

Besides the unmistakable liberal reputation of the typical Californian, there is also a strong conservative base in the state. This seems odd at first glance but it makes sense. Liberalism can only thrive in a strong conservative environment.
Once the framework of conservative principles and their inherent protections for the individual against the mindless, conscience less, power hungry bureaucracy has been sufficiently erode, the liberal society begins to devour itself. Sooner or later every individual finds themselves the target of government manipulation. Liberals against liberals. It is the only possible outcome in the absence of a strong conservative environment.
I know several California conservatives who are stepping up to demand their candidates honor the conservtive high 5 principles;
1. Rule of Law
2. Individual Liberty
3. Limited Government
4. Free Enterprise
5. Effective National Defense
The Governor's endorsement of the liberal Manchurian Candidate, John McCain is going to sting within the CA GOP whether they make it public or not.

I still have hope he'll stick to what he said yesterday, that he will not endorse anyone during the primaries but wait until the nominee is named. If the rumors turnout true and he does it today it will signal two things:
1. He's not too good at keeping his word from one day to the next.
2. The Democratic Party will cheer even louder.
You're right about there being many conservatives in CA as well, perhaps this will send them to the polls in protest. WE can only hope.
