Is it Time to End the Revolution? What is your opinion of the Revolution and where it should go from here. I want to know what people are thinking.by Wakeup2change

For me, this has been an experience with lots of ups and downs. When I first looked into Dr. Ron Paul for President I was so excited. A man, that stands by his word and the Constitution. What a rare find it was. I would compare it to finding a bad full of money somewhere that had a note in it reading:
To Whom It May Concern,
This is your lucky day. This bag of money now belongs to you. Please use it to pay off your debt, and better yourself. Get rid of your old stuff that doesn't work anymore and invest in things that will prosper your family. If you spend this money in a wise thought out plan you can turn everything around in a matter of time. Do not be seduced away by false promises of a better life and invest in things that will make your problems worse. This is your once in a lifetime chance, make it the best thing that ever happened to you. Once you have used this money to accomplish this goal then please do as I have and give someone else a chance to see what they can do. I too, was at one time standing where you are now. I did as the note said and now, because of my actions you are benefiting. Let's keep this going. If we all work for this goal then we can change America, one person at a time.
Sincerely,
Brother and Fellow American
That is how I felt, like a gift had been given to me. Something that I could use and pass on that would change America and see it become the United States that the Founding Fathers had envisioned so long ago. Like in the letter I was sure that the American people would see this as their gift to save America. To put her back on track, and change the impression that they rest of the world now holds. To once again be the shining example that Lady Liberty, standing at our shore, was put there to be.
To me it was a no brainer. That is why I was so sure that the polls were wrong and that once the real votes were counted I would find that people wanted change as badly as I did. I did not take into consideration that the media would fight us, make us look like kooks, lie, and then outright ignore Ron Paul and the Revolution. I should have seen it coming. I guess that maybe I did not consider it because I believed that they American people, when given a real choice would jump at the chance and not listen to the news to make their decisions.
Maybe that is the case. In the counties where precinct leaders have gotten out and done canvassing he has come in first or second place. So now we must decide if we are really in this or not. We must decide that it is worth our time and energy! The people who get to hear about Ron Paul jump on board. So let's tell them! The media isn't going to do it for us, we know that.
The time has come to counter act the media, door to door, one person at a time. Use the outrage you feel at the media to help you put one foot in front of the other until you have reached as many people as we can. We cannot give up now. That is what the media and the people pushing them want us to do. How much more will they say about us if we give up and go quietly into the night? We will be letting the people who are counting on us down.
It seems that they are winning, but the only way they can truly win is for us to give up on this rEVOLution!
Harriet Beecher Stowe: Quotations about Perseverance "When you get in a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn."
I would like to hear your opinions so feel free to leave comments. Not on my writing abilities, because I know they suck! I want to know if people are getting discouraged, or are they ready to hang on and keep going. Thanks for reading!
Yours in Liberty,
A fellow American

I will hopefully begin canvassing my community north of Philadelphia, PA this weekend. Ron Paul's campaign is strong and moving forward--his supporters need only donate whatever time and money they can. We are going to be in this thing all the way through September.

Dear Wakeup, well done. Don't forget that we did not get to this place overnight and we can't fix it overnight. We have two generations of zombies watching Oprah and football. We have clear evidence of fraud in the voting process. We have a government that lies to us and ignores the Constitution. We have two political parties that are entrenched and corrupt, both ignoring their fundamental founding principles. The Republican party has become a bunch of Neocon fascists and the Democratic Party is trying to take us to communism. They have created major roadblocks to any competing political movement. I could go on, but the point is we have a lot of things to fix in a system that does't want them fixed. We are in a fight for our children's future.
Ron Paul's message is to fix the most egregious things first, all summarized in "let's follow the Constitution" - honest money, no wars of agression, real free trade, small government, etc.
Liberty was not achieved by talking about it over a tankard of ale in John Adams' tavern. it was achieved by people taking action and not quitting because the going got tough.

The revolution has just begun, and no it wont be televised. We are going up against the establishment and if anyone thought that this was gonna be easy, they were wrongly lulled into a false sense of realism. I can relate to the author though. When I found Dr. Paul I was personally so relieved to have a candidate to vote for, a true honest leader. Then I was pissed for letting it get this far. I was pissed at myself for being so blind, but now I see.
The media wont do it for us. We have to it for oueselves our kids and our country. I have pprsonally brought 25 people to the voting booth for the cause, and I tirelessly spread the word. ONE PATRIOT AT A TIME. The orignal REVOLUTION took over 4 yrs. The constitution took 11 years to write, so even in the face of the all powerful internet to think that we could make change in a few months is very shortsided.
Here is the whole gig. AMERICANS have AWAKEN, ow we need to get off our collective arses and run for congress at all levels. Lets put PATRIOTS with LIBERTARIAN constitutional views in office.
NEVER SURRENDER a country depends upon US
GOVT is the servant
WE are the master

The Ron Paul Revolution is but one skirmish in the eternal stuggle of individuals to secure a future free from government oppression for the next generation. For me, the most important part of this revolution is that it allows us to get to know each other. To recognize we are a diverse lot with smiliar hopes for the future and (limited) expectations on government.
Now that we know our demographics, the makeup of our force, we can begin to harness its power and marginalize its frictions. We have built a political machine from ideas for ideas centered around the message Dr. Paul has been living every day for most of his life.
I'm sure Dr. Paul would love to win as much as we'd like to see it. I think if given the choice between a victory this year and the continuation of our political machine into a future where we restore the GOP as a champion of the Conservative High-5 Principles.
We are soon going to be launching a grass roots organization, the Alphaville Decoder. This is a free voluntary association of like-minded people who are willing to track their local candidates against the High-5. As these candidates move up the political ladder, moving to new neighborhoods or seeking higher office, their Alphaville Decoder ranking against the High-5 will follow them. Users of the Alphaville Decoder system will be able to learn all about candidates when they arrive from a far off state and try to take over the school board or the county commissioner's office.
We are launching the charter chapter in our own community. The hope is that other members of the Ron Paul revolution will spread this system across the nation in a very short time.
We will be looking for volunteers to help manage the organization. I'm a novice webmaster and database illiterate too! Just to give you a flavor for the kind of input we are looking for. This is an entirely member driven organization. We, the Fireeaters are launching the idea into the free market of ideas that is represented by the nolan chart forum and other online discussion groups. These venues form the communications backbone for The Alphaville Decoder.
By the end of Feb we'll be up an running. Any webmasters who want to offer advice will be welcome. I'm in way over my head but I will not drown.
Thanks for asking this question, Wakeup2change. Life will go on after the 2008 election no matter who wins. Our goal is to keep the momentum going until another leader surfaces for the next election cycle.
It is the Long Haul Revolution. Canvass, discuss, find local candidates that share the revolutionary spirit and obtain victories as we do people, one at a time. As Ivan stated this problem didn't develop overnight nor will it be solved overnight. Even as the first American Revolution raged there were the Loyalists. Many want cradle to grave care, they buy in to the idea of being entitled to it as well as the idea the cure comes in ending all inequality. The revolution offers personal responsibility in connection with liberty, a heavy load some are yet unwilling to carry. Carry on...even after the election is long gone...carry on!
It is time for Ron Paul to Redeploy, to pull out, to have a timetable of withdraw. He is not winning and has gotten himself in a race that he can't win politically. How many more inocent Republican votes do we have to lose before he surrenders and goes back home? Ron Paul is Wrong for America!!!!
What is my message to Ron Paul? "Just come home, you did a good job, just come home."
Pundits attack Ron Paul simply because he is over there campaigning. Ron Paul is not winning the hearts and minds in America and should have never been there in the first place. By simply taking action, he has gotten the whole country to turn against him. If Ron Paul wasn't running, he wouldn't be attacked. For 30 years Ron Paul has been trying to implement his policies in a place that doesn't want them. If Ron Paul would simply stop running we would all get along and things would get better.
This place does want him, that's why people are standing up. We will only know the results of this Revolution in the years to come when people standing on Dr. Paul's positions start to take over the elected positions.
We could all get along? I don't get this statement. For it to be true then there would have to be some proof that "we" were getting along to begin with, which there isn't, because we weren't.

Only statist are quiters. You quit being responsible and or relevant once you gave up to the establishment. We wont give up until all socialists are gone from our blessed REPUBLIC and the Constitution is once again restored as the Rule of Law. No way should he quit! Integrity to ones ideals and the betterment of ones country is what the good Dr. stands for. If the MSM would stop snubbing the PEOPLE by not giving them the information they need to make an educated informed opinion.
You know statist that every time you say crap like that I go donate $5 to the campaign, no wonder I am almost at my limit, the REVOLUTION thanks you for your efforts.
I truly beleive we would all be alot beter off if you would stop trying so hard to convert LIBERTY loving people into your nazi regime. Come on dude, I know responsibility can be a little scary but pop the teet out your mouth and get off the wagon and start helping to pull it instead of just draggin it down by ridin.
Good article. Revolutions don't happen over night. The revolution will not succeed this year. It will seem more distant as some will desert at the first setback. But the movement has begun. It needs to be supported, it needs to be spread. And it is up to those now active to keep the forward movement going until success comes.

For myself, I'm just very happy that there's a revolution AT ALL! I have been hoping for this kind of thing to happen literally for decades, and I certainly hope it doesn't fold up once the campaign of 2008 is done.
Based on what I've seen so far, my guess is that this revolution is just beginning.
Remember, the American Revolution began (according to most historians) with the Stamp Act of 1765. The colonies didn't declare their independence from Great Britain for another 11 years. There's every reason to believe that the current revolution could be just as durable.
This is not just a presidential race, its a protest. A protest that will get louder and louder until a revolution occurs.
The enemies of liberty have exposed themselves by their opposition to Ron Paul. Take note of all those that oppose Ron Paul in the business media and political world, these are the enemies of liberty.
Half the problem is knowing who they are, well now you know.
Your task now is to educate everyone you know, and tell them to pass on what they have learned.
One Irish pamphleteer caused so much damage to British rule in Ireland that they exiled him to Australia. However, he still sent letters home which his friends pamphleted around the country. He was unstoppable.
If every Ron Paul supporter became a troublesome pamphleteer, America would be taken back for the people very quickly.
The old low tech pamphleteer is the most terrifing weapon against established tyranny.
You have a printer and ten reems of paper, down with the tyrant.
Jahfre Fire Eater, I have been thinking about a website like this for some time to continue the Ron Paul revolution beyond the election. I have a friend and a fellow Ron Paul supporter and a precinct leader, who is good at linux, database, website etc. We have already discussed a readily available open source software to use for direct democracy where all members can participate and vote on day to day issues to go forward with the movement. This can be the seed for a web based completely flat corporation (no leaders except Ron Paul as the figure-head) of Ron Paul supporters, that will grow over time, as we can get people to signup and start participating in daily decision making. I would request interested readers to look at:

Here Here. Like I said in a previous post where some proposed a violent revolution if the current rEVOLution didn't work and I said we already won. They are trying to promote McCain someone who has been running for president for 8 years just in case you lost count who can't be considered a viable candidate. If you inverse the numbers instead of saying McCain got 33% of the vote. You can also say that 67% voted against him as well. I think it's funny the concept of an endorsement. How arrogant do you have to be to think that people would vote for who you tell them to vote for simply because you mask it as an "endorsement" Instead of using it like Paul does as an indicator of like minded individuals...sordof like the squeeze theroem in calculus. But Yeah I agree the only way for them to win is for us to give up on the rEVOLution so long as we are here. The rEVOLution is only a matter of time. Go to my column at Paulican Bay to see how I would speed things up...may be controversial but you tell me.
