Edwards is Out: What are all the Out of Favor "White Guys" to Do?
No matter what side of the partisan line you walk, you could not help but feel bad for Edwards during the last few debates. He was marginalized for being the "White Guy." It seems like everyone is campaigning on "Change," but in reality what we are getting is partisan extremism. Hillary wants to spend $120 Billion before she even gets her chance to warm that infamous Oval Office desk chair. McCain wants to engage in never-ending wars. Last time I checked, our country was bankrupt, more accurately in debt. We are in debt to our enemies, yet all either side wants to do is spend, spend, spend!
Edwards represented a class of people that used to make up a large voting block of both Parties, but today is widely ignored: The working class. Edwards' supporters are the backbone of America; hard-working Americans who did not grow up believing that the government would support them from cradle to grave. They believe that a hard day's work deserves "just" compensation from employers, not the government. Today they see their jobs disappearing oversees, or right here on our own soil they are replaced by migrant workers, just so big corporations can save a few pennies.Sadly, none of the front-runners, on either side, are representing the interests of the people who built this country and created that great "Shining city upon a hill." No, today we are left with Janus-faced politicians who say what we want to hear on the campaign trail, yet those very words contradict their own voting records. None of the front-runners, on either side can deny this truth. McCain is promising to be a tax-cutting Conservative, but he is not. Hillary can't even decide if she is for or against the war; I guess it depends on which side of the bed she woke up on. Obama won't even cast an honest vote for fear it will cost him votes, declaring "present" over yea or nay.
Now that Edwards is out, is there any politician who will put the interests of Americans over the interests of lobbyists and special interest groups? All the front-runners tell us that these so-called "Free Trade Deals" will create new American jobs. How stupid do they think the American voters are? These deals are as far from free as you can get; any deal that "manages" trade is not free for anyone except those for whom the deals were written.
Why do Edwards and his supporters support "Universal Healthcare?" Because all the employers who used to take responsibility for their workers have now held "Free Trade" and "Globalization" over workers' heads as a threat. Simply put, workers have been made well aware that they will forego healthcare coverage or their job will be shipped oversees. That is not true free trade; in a true free trade scenario businesses would be able to trade with whomever they want, without government manipulation. In turn, all the real costs of the business would be built into the price of the products; this includes the salaries and benefits that the workers receive. But today our government has brokered deals with countries who allow their citizens to work in sweatshops for pennies, and Big Business uses that unfair advantage to "leverage" their clout over workers. The only thing "free" in deals like WTO and NAFTA is the extra profits for Big Business "free" as in unearned.
Does our healthcare system need to be fixed? Yes, but as long as we do not address the real, underlying problems, our country will just go bankrupt and our citizens will receive sub-par care. The underlying problem is that our government has made healthcare expensive by creating bureaucratic HMOs to replace employer-provided insurance. Essentially, in order to get big campaign donations, our politicians signed these "trade deals" that let employers off the hook on healthcare, so our government added yet another bureaucracy to the mix through HMOs. Without these unconstitutional "trade deals" we would have no need for "Universal Healthcare." Just ask Henry Ford: he understood the importance of providing his employees a "fair" wage. Henry Ford noticed that the workers building his cars could not afford to buy those cars with the wages they were earning, so he deliberately raised their wages to double the industry standard so that they could afford to but a Ford. Why? Because he understood the power of the true Free Market; he understood that in order to capture the widest possible market his cars had to be affordable to the average person, and to do that he needed to lower the price through volume and efficiency. To do this he invented mass-production techniques that led to economies of scale; but most importantly, by paying his workers a "living wage" he created his own customer base, and this in turn led to a revolution in how Americans traveled. Of course, the free market took over from there and mom and pop establishments popped up all across newly constructed American roads to meet the demands of traveling Americans.
Working class America used to embrace their freedoms and liberties to make this country even better, just like Henry Ford. But our government has betrayed us and taken our destiny out of our own hands and put it in the hands of multi-national corporations who do not abide by the laws of true free trade. None of the front-runners have any plans to undue these unfair "trade deals." It doesn't matter what they say, they have ALL voted for these trade deals that put American workers at risk. Yes, all of them: Hillary, Obama, and McCain. Even worse than this, they are putting our very National Sovereignty at risk. Our very freedoms that our Founding Fathers fought for are rapidly under attack by our politicians who sign international agreements that are a direct assault on our Constitution and Bill of Rights. All three candidates support unlimited immigration into our country so that low-skilled American jobs can be filled by workers earning less than a living wage, just to fatten the pockets of Big Business. They support H1-B visas that have displaced a large segment of our highly-educated and well-paid technology workforce. Why? Because lobbyists working on behalf of Bill Gates and others threatened to move their companies to countries like India if H1-B quotas were not raised. The largest segment of workers in the unemployment lines today are highly-skilled workers who lost their good jobs to these imported workers. The government and these companies may try to sell us a story about America not having enough of an educated workforce, but the unemployment office and many universities tell quite another story. Who are you going to believe? The propaganda machine or your flesh and blood neighbor next door?
John Edwards talks about two Americas one rich, one poor. Whose fault is that? It is the fault of our greedy politicians who put their own interests and their own pocket books ahead of their responsibility to represent the American People. John Edwards wants to end poverty in the richest nation on earth. There is only one way to do that, and that is by strengthening our economy by kicking the corrupt politicians out of office! This country was built on the blood, sweat and tears of individual Americans who created the most prosperous nation on earth because they were free free to use their ingenuity and talents to make dreams come true and change the world. Our politicians today have stolen that freedom and drive from most Americans. They have revoked our civil liberties in the name of "security." Our government has made our nation poor by using fear tactics to get us to give up our Rights and taking away entrepreneurial drive by making us reliant on the government to survive. John Edwards is right, there are two Americas: Big Business and politicians, collectively known as the "Globalists" and everyone else, also known as "the Little People." It's time for David to slay Goliath.
John Edwards may be out of the race, but there is still one candidate working to defend the freedom and liberty of all Americans. He too has been ignored by the media; maligned actually. In fact, both Parties are so afraid of his record that they have launched smear campaigns against him. America, it's time to wake up! To really do your research and find out where the candidates truly stand; not by listening to their campaign stump speeches, but by looking at the votes that they actually cast. Will you agree with every vote? No. But I'd rather have the candidate who will above all else put our freedoms and liberties above any and all special interests. I want a president who will do the one thing he or she is legally allowed to do: Uphold the Constitution of the United States of America.
John Edwards supporters, I ask you this: Do you want to end the War in Iraq? Do you want to end all of these unfair "trade deals?" Do you want our government to reign in spending and get rid of our National Debt? Do you want our government to stop borrowing money from our enemies, such as China, to pay for an unconstitutional war and cheap, often poisonous goods? Do you want a president who will secure our borders once and for all, because that is our weakest National Security link? Do you want a president who will not threaten to attack sovereign nations who have not attacked us?
If you answered YES to all of these questions, then you are in luck! There is a candidate who will accomplish all of these goals. Not because he says so on the campaign trail, but because his voting record over ten terms in Congress proves it.
There is only one Presidential Candidate who stands up for the Rights of every single American Citizen. Only one candidate whose congressional voting record proves that he has NEVER voted against the Constitution of the United States of America. Only one Presidential candidate who can fix our healthcare system because he has spent over 30 years as a practicing Medical Doctor, both in private practice as well as a surgeon in the United States Air Force. There is only one Presidential candidate who has consistently called for responsible monetary and fiscal policy and predicted our impending economic collapse, not because he has a crystal ball, but because he is the only candidate who has actually studied Economic Theory.
Ron Paul is the only candidate who voted AGAINST going to war with Iraq. He has consistently voted NO on funding the Iraq War. He will withdraw from the WTO and repeal NAFTA. Dr. Ron Paul is the only Presidential Candidate who has a real plan to bring our country back on course. He believes in a strong National Defense, but opposes any offensive wars of aggression. He has consistently opposed the abolition of the Gold Standard that has led to our current crisis of massive inflation and the devaluation of the American Dollar. He understands that the only way to protect our country from attack and the loss of our sovereignty is to strengthen our borders. He is a vocal advocate of upholding our Rights to free speech and expression as well as the Second Amendment.
Ron Paul has NEVER voted to spend the Social Security trust fund; he will guarantee that all of our elderly citizens are provided for by using the trillions of dollars that are now being wasted in Iraq to fund Social Security and Medicare at a rate that actually keeps up with inflation. He will end all government subsidies to Big Businesses that close up shop here and move oversees. He will end subsidies to oil companies because that is impeding our ability to become energy independent. By not subsidizing Big Oil and Big Industries such as Halliburton, smaller, energy efficient alternative small businesses will be able to compete on the Free Market, thereby making us energy independent and creating new jobs that will help us diminish Global Warming at the same time. Ron Paul will immediately end the monopoly of the Federal Reserve that has allowed unscrupulous individuals, politicians, and corporations to manipulate the value of the Dollar. Ron Paul will allow Hard Currency, Gold and Silver, to compete as a legitimate form of currency against paper "Fiat" money that is currently worthless. This will enable the American economy to get back on its feet without devolving into chaos. Additionally, Ron Paul will immediately cut taxes. This will allow Americans to keep their hard-earned money in their own pockets and spend it how they want, thereby spurring our economy into a rapid and long-term rate of growth.
National Defense: Ron Paul has consistently voted for a domestic anti-missile defense shield. This will protect Americans, here on our own soil, from missile attacks. Ronald Reagan's "Star Wars" are no longer a dream, as modern technology has finally caught up and right now a mere $40 million is going towards real national defense: at JFK International Airport a Laser Missile Defense Protective Shield, "Skyguard," that can detect and shoot down short and long-range and supersonic missiles is being installed. We probably spend that amount of money in one week just feeding all of the troops we have around the world. Our Federal Government has one primary responsibility: to defend the United States from attack. If it only costs $40 million dollars and no loss of American lives to secure JFK, then there is no excuse for any politician to tell us that we must be anywhere else in the world. Best of all, this defense system is built by Northrop Grumman, so local jobs are created at the same time.
Bring our Troops home: Our troops are being used as cannon-fodder in an attempt to force other countries to "democratize" via the barrel of a gun. That does not now, nor ever has worked. The United States is not an Imperial Empire, we are a Republic, and it is high time our government starts representing the citizens of the United States of America, and stops interfering in the sovereignty of foreign nations. By bringing most, if not all, of our troops home, foreigners will not look upon us with disdain for invading and controlling their countries. This will also save us TRILLIONS of dollars a year, money that we never had in the first place, but borrowed from other nations, such as China, who are far from our allies. Instead of bolstering up foreign economies our troops will be stationed at bases here, on American soil where they will be spending their money in local American economies, thereby bolstering consumer spending.
Do you worry about America's reputation in the rest of the world? Do you fear the repercussions resulting from our foreign policy? Are you feeling uneasy that many of our "Allies" increasingly speak out against us? Do you believe that by having all of our troops, and even members of our National Border Guard, over in the Middle East, that we are safer here, on our own soil? Do you question where the forces to fight a war against Iran will come from? Does it scare you that Iran has never attacked us, yet almost all of the Presidential candidates, both Republicans and Democrats, are threatening to use Nuclear Weapons to attack Iran? Does it bother you that our country is completely broke, yet our government is willing to borrow even more money from countries like China to fund yet another war? We already owe Trillions of dollars for the War in Iraq; we are sending wounded, yes wounded, troops back over to fight in Iraq because this war has become so unpopular over here that we cannot recruit enough new soldiers. Do you want your children to be drafted in order to continue all of these wars? Is that what a Free country should do?
Do you believe that the next President of the United States must restore our good name in the rest of the world? Must stabilize our financial and monetary backbone? Must truly protect us from attacks by terrorists who are determined to attack us here, on American soil? Do you believe that we need an honest and fair solution to our domestic healthcare crisis? Do you believe that our next President must represent the People by ending unfair "managed Trade Deals" such as WTO and NAFTA that have done nothing for the average American worker other than ship good jobs overseas, line the pockets of multi-millionaire CEO's and create an extraordinary immigration crisis by attracting migrants from Mexico to enter this country and put many of our hospitals at risk of closing due to bankruptcy? Do you want our next President to do the only thing he/she is legally allowed to do: Uphold The Constitution of the United States of America?
If you truly do believe that America must be set back on the right course, then Ron Paul is the only candidate for you. So, John Edwards supporters, what do you say? I know it's hard to cross the "Party Line," but hey the Republicans absolutely despise Ron Paul, so he can't be all that bad, right? Besides, he's just another "White Guy." The least you can do is give him a chance!
