Ron Paul Wins Big in Florida As the Florida primary knocks out Rudy Giuliani and sets Mike Huckabee back on his heels, who benefits most?by The Indepublicrat

As the Florida primary knocks out Rudy Giuliani and sets Mike Huckabee back on his heels, who benefits most? John McCain, of course, but the Indepublicrat knows that Ron Paul headlines get more clicks on the Nolan Chart website--and in this case Ron Paul would also be a huge beneficiary as the election heads toward Super Tuesday?
Future candidates will take note of Giuliani's strategy as an example of how to go from frontrunner to also-ran in 30 days or less.? Essentially, Rudy took the month off in favor of a nice Florida vacation.? His poor showings in Iowa, New Hampshire, Michigan, Nevada, Wyoming, and South Carolina eroded any support he built up in the Sunshine State, no matter how many New York snowbirds he managed to marshall into the voting booths.?
The Indepublicrat expects Rudy to drop out of the race in the next few days, and the Huckabee campaign won't be competitive in more than three or four of the 20-plus states looming just ahead. This gives Ron Paul a good chance of pushing himself into a solid number three position.
If the top two candidates remain close going into the conference, so that neither obtains a majority of delegates, a strong number three candidate becomes the king-maker. This is the role John Edwards seems to be angling toward in the Democratic party, giving him the power to throw his delegates behind the candidate who makes him the best offer--up to and including a strategic partnership and a spot on the ticket.
It looks somewhat less likely on the Republican side, at least for now, but the Indepublicrat wouldn't be totally surprised to see an Obama/Edwards vs. Romney/Paul election in the Fall.
EDIT:
The Indepublicrat will be the first to admit when he or she is wrong, as in the case of John Edwards bowing out of the race for the Democratic nomination. Edwards will not be angling for a kingmaker role in a possible brokered convention, nor will he be cashing in his delegates for a two-spot on the ticket, having done that in 2004 to the detriment of John Kerry. Instead, Edwards will bow out on as strong a note as he can, trumpeting his influence on the race--most notably the attention drawn to his favored issue of ending poverty, giving the remaining candidates a few days to kiss up to him before issuing an endorsement that probably won't have much effect at all.

Nay!! I see Romney dropping next leaving McCain to be eaten alive, then on a one to one basis, by Ron Paul. Ron Paul will go the distance and will start to fire with all guns.
Frankly, neither McCain nor Obama nor Clinton can ever survive a one to one debate with Paul.
I disagree with your analysis. While Paul supporters will enjoy Paul outlasting Giuliani, I don't think it will help him in the polls. There is no crossover appeal, and those pro-war, pro-patriot act, pro-amnesty, pro-choice or anti-gun votes will go to other candidates, not Paul. The chaos theory that was meant to help Giuliani by splitting support among the other candidates also helped Paul to a degree. Some of Paul's best moments in the debate were in exhanges with Giuliani as well.
MSM has pretty much ignored Paul, but if they begin to portray a 2man race between Romney and McCain he will be squeezed even more.
During a Florida MC cain Rally on Jan.27,2008 McCain made this statement which I believe will be his down fall. McCain Straight Talk pledge. "More Wars to come.: He pledges this in Polk City, Fl." Expansion to access to health care for soldiers injured physically and psychologically in the current war,but in wars he says are sure to follow". Listen to what the man is saying. People! It,s not bad enough that we in are Iraq and other countries. He wants more wars, probably Iran, then Pakistan. When is it going to end. Our Economy has already gone into a recession, with all the massive spending in these wars. If this Man is Elected to president, we have ourselfs another Bush to contend with. WAR,WAR,WAR!!!!!!! " We The People", Need the life line that Ron Paul is offering, more than ever if we are to survive without being, inslaved in debt for generations to come Thanks for listening; M.Loomis FL.
Hilarious. Ron Paul came in dead last, by one of the widest possible margins, and the headline reads "Ron Paul wins big"? Some of you delusionals need to get out once in awhile. Ron Paul isn't going to win anything. Period. He just isn't. Keep deluding yourself. It's hilarious to read.
It is completely absurd to believe that anyone will pick Ron Paul as a running mate. I'll give my reasons later. As for Dr. Paul's supposed victory in Florida because of Giuliani's exit, please give me a break. He placed last. Hunter and Thompson dropped out so he didnt beat ANY viable candidate with his 3% showing. As for the running mate issue, nobody will pick him because a bunch of you paul-ites will assassinate the president-elect so you can have Dr. Paul as president for four years. All you Paul people are so crazy, just give up already, he can't get the nomination because he will never get delegates. Just let McCain win gracefully and shut up about him.
You're crazy if you think that Giuliani dropping out is good news for Ron Paul. What we are going to see is even MORE corporate media censorship of Ron Paul, not less. I can almost guarantee you that tonight's debate will be his last, as the old media tries to exclude all but the 'serious' candidates, i.e. the candidates acceptable to the establishment.
Think about it. All the other candidates have won at least one state. Ron Paul has only placed second once. He has consistently finished behind the three remaining candidates(once again, except in Nevada), and his six delegates look paltry compared to those earned by other candidates.
The only way in which this trend can be reversed would be if Paul wins multiple states on Super Tuesday. These wins would have to be acknowledged, and coming in as unexpected would probably receive much attention (as the old media always tries to explain immediately why people didn't obey their propaganda precisely). But between now and Super Tuesday expect a media frenzy as they try to paint John Mccain as the inevitable nominee, the frontrunner, the shoe-in, the probable winner, the best, most-likable candidate, in order to get the word out to the rest of the country that hasn't been listening who they are supposed to vote for.
It's funny that people don't see how fake McCain is. I really can't see people being that stupid to sit there and watch McCain talk and change his views as the wind blows from state to state and still vote for him. He says whatever will get him liked in the state he's campaigning in. There's alot of things that give you away as a liar. If you watch him talk he studders and blinks alot. I have come to the conclusion that this has to be voter fraud. There's no possible way that we americans are that stupid. I just can't believe by watching him that people would actually vote for him. He's going to raise taxes, keep us in the war and more are surely going to come. That's just two things that bother me. Putting issues aside and just going by the person, he's as fake as you can get and people are going right along with it. To put it in words that's at McCains level. Dat, Dat, Dat all folks. You awr scrood!!
I think I know Ron Paul well enough not to expect him to play Romney's second fiddle. No way! In fact I can't imagine Ron Paul as vice-president to ANY candidate. It's President Paul or nothing. Clear.
http://www.ronpaulwarroom.com/?p=3752 Go here and read this article.McCain isnt really a citizen of the united states. How can this man run for president????
To all that think that John McCain is not a natural born citizen.

Sometimes Ron Paul supporters get out of hand with their Constitutional claims. If you argue this, you will only be laughed at. There are plenty of legit arguments of the other candidates breaking the Constitution than this unaccurate minutia.
