Ron Paul Eats At Alice's Restaurant

Legendary Singer-Songwriter Arlo Guthrie Endorses Ron Paul for President.

Arlo Guthrie, who wrote the classic folk tune "Alice's Restaurant," today threw his famous and substantial hat into the ring with other legends and luminaries supporting the presidential candidacy of Dr. Ron Paul.Arlo Guthrie - Courtesy of Wikipedia

I remember back in the days of the first nationwide draft lottery (yes, I was in that lottery - yes, my number was low, number five!) listening to Arlo perform "Alice's Restaurant" and getting a kick out of the satirical story of bureaucratic ineptness.

Of Ron Paul, Mr. Guthrie says:

"I love this guy. Dr. Paul is the only candidate I know of who would have signed the Constitution of The United States had he been there."

The sixties was all about personal freedom, but perhaps lacked this essential balance of an emphasis on personal responsibility. The signers of the Constitution were all responsible men, and all paid dearly for that commitment. We Americans today have a responsibility to our history and to our Constitution that only Ron Paul clearly acknowledges and represents. Guthrie goes on to say this about Dr. Paul and the Constitution:

"I'm with him, because he seems to be the only candidate who actually believes it has as much relevance today as it did a couple of hundred ears ago. I look forward to the day when we can work out the differences we have with the same revolutionary vision and enthusiasm that is our American legacy."

A resident of Mitt Romney's old stomping ground Massachusetts, Guthrie was at times in the sixties perceived to be a rabble-rousing anti-war protester. His work over the years has proven him rather a thoughtful spokesman against many forms of social injustice, and his music is beloved and widely known. He has followed in his father Woody's honorable footsteps. Will we follow in our Founding Fathers' footsteps and honor their lives' work?

As Guthrie's most famous song says, "You can get anything you want, at Alice's Restaurant." OK, then, I'd like to order up one Ron Paul Presidency, please?

Thank You, Arlo Guthrie!

HA HA! Statist...good one. Point well taken. Most RP supporters won't even know who this guy is. Unfortunatly, there are no recent freedom fighters for the younger ones to relate to...except for Ron Paul, of course.

the future might be libertarianism, Ron Paul is not it though. Until he is made fun of on South Park, I don't think that he has a chance.
