As Rudy Guiliani Falls, May He Take The Unseemly Side Of 9-11 With Him

Rudy Guiliani Falls Hard and I Am Thankful For An End To The 9-11 After Marketing...

It appears Rudy Guiliani is in for a rude awakening. Now that the media has written him off, all that remains as Floridians head to the polls is for the final judgement and humiliating step down to play out on National television. America's Mayor may have finally mentioned his last " 9-11", and I say "good riddance".

9-11 and its tragic ripples have infected far too much already. 4,000 additional dead Americans. Countless wounded. Millions of Iraqis wandering in refuge status, scores of others caught up in the conflict and killed for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Habeas Corpus gone. Torture making a comeback. Silly men holding their little rockets in one hand and shaking their fists at "enemies" with the other.

We all know what has happened. We've all been part of the enormous human drama that started back in September of 2001.

Rudy Guiliani has even made a fortune off of his presence during that tragic day.

It all just seems so unseemly and out of control, now, doesnt it?

And why wouldn't everyone care about this:

I can't believe the glee with which they are bashing Giuliani, writing his political obituary. If he doesn't make it, it will be our loss, because he would have been a wonderful president. And I totally disagree with the notion that it will be an embarrasing exit. He will always be our 9/11 hero, this defeat, if defeat it is, can not take that away from him because if he doesn't do anything else in life, he's earned his immortality, and long after the petty, mean spirited comments had faded (the NY Times should be ashamed here), he will be remembered, perhaps that will be his biggest triumph and vindication.
