Ron Paul in MSNBC's GOP Debate: A Victorious Loss!
We all know the media will not be buzzing about a Ron Paul win after the debate...do understand the victories! by Gary Wood

Say what you like about the debate formats, lack of equitable treatment, or any other negatives these forums have allowed to occur. Tonight the GOP debate moderated by MSNBC was a victory for Ron Paul despite the small amount of time provided for his comments. After the debates the analysis was just like before the debates, barely a mention of Ron Paul.
Based on the overall time and presentations by all candidates a strong argument can be made for either Romney or Huckabee being declared the winner. Even more of an argument can be made for the reasons both McCain and Giuliani lost the debates. More time was given to each of these candidates and each had greater opportunities to express their ideals. Before, during, and after additional false claims regarding where all' the Republican candidates stand were voiced yet I say false since the message of Ron Paul stands out differently than any other. Even as Huckabee was claiming his was the only dissenting voice on the issue of taxation true students of this campaign knew he was not being completely truthful.
In the midst of the debate there were precious times when Ron Paul's differing views could not be silenced. His comments on the Iraq war were clearly articulated and unwavering. His economic comments were a strong dose of reality that those tuned in to really what was necessary to repair both short and long-term our economy had to start to question if he was not the one who understood the most about our situation and how to correct it. Finally, his comments on the Republican Party turning their backs on those of us embracing the Constitution and liberty were directly on-target. His case for being the MOST Republican of any other candidate on the stage could not be denied nor could it be kept from the listening audience.
Will it matter in the papers tomorrow? No. Will it change the focus of the race from the personalities the mainstream media wants to talk about to who they SHOULD talk about? No. Will it reach a few more that will no doubt begin to awaken to real root causes of our troubles and how to solve them? Yes!
This is the essence of this year's rEVOLution. The movement does not sweep over the country a hundred thousand or million people at a time. It grows one focused listener at a time. The restoration of the United States is not an overnight sensation nor is it a single Presidential surprise victory. I believe Dr. Paul understands this better than most of us who support him. We are lucky to have him as our Elder Statesman in this campaign. This debate showed once again it is not about the candidate, nor is it about losing or winning. It is about the victories along the way as the momentum and movement grows. The first American Revolution started out in much the same way. The first real battle against British Colonial Rule took place in 1676, fully 100 years before the Declaration of Independence. Tonight Ron Paul will not be given the win in the debate but those supporting him must understand the wonderful victories he won.

MSNBS I mean ...oops BC was transparently obvious in it's bias. McCaine for sure just buried his chances and so did Juliana because he seemed to cosy up to McCaine. All the candidates were suddenly saying things that sounded like it came from Ron Paul. The internet will replace this type of crap news coverage. This is just the beginning.
Ron got 3 questions in an 1 hour and 40 minutes of the MSNBC debate. And one was to scare the Florida elderly from a 1988 comment. In January, Ron has gotten less coverage on the NBC tv networks than Chuck Norris. What is NBC scared of? Why does a country with a 9000 billion dollar debt only a get choice between a 1000 billion dollar health care boondoggle and a 1000 billion dollar war boondoggle.
Ron Paul has come second in 2 states without any news coverage. That is the news.
Great article. Ron Paul has been "fighting" this fight for more than two decades and he knows that it would take a miracle to change the views of the majority in a year. He is in this for the long haul and we should be too.
If you want to make sure your future articles get noticed by the large group of Ron Paul followers and other people interested in the Ron Paul message you yourself can add a link to your future articles at
All around the web and in the media there is a visceral, irrational and pathological hatred of Ron Paul. I marvel at the phenomenon of it all. How can so many have such a deep hatred of a man who offers liberty, peace, the justrule of law (Constitution) and prosperity? What is there to hate? Am I missing something?
They argue for their own government to oppress and rob them. It's just astounding to me!
The GOP was given a strong message; accept Ron Paul or the party will loose a massive amount of politically active supporters.
The message was also clear that Ron Paul is holding true to Republican values that have been very successful in previous elections.
Keep the GOP on its toes, for sure. Ron Paul and his massive and growing support could be embraced and boost the GOP into orbit. Disenfranchising new voters must stop, or the GOP will fail dismally.
There will be a day when the video image of Ron Paul at this particular debate with his finger in the air, warning the mocking media elite that "this is a new era" will haunt them in their daydreams.
If he could be just a little more blunt. Like, Senator McCain will you explain this group and its intended function? It was clear that McCain had no idea what Dr. Paul was even talking about.Â
Or give a simple example, like suppose your family was in debt and your income was not sufficient to meet your obligations. Would your solution be to go borrow more money and spend it to improve your financial situation?
Or , if your income don't equal your outgo, your upkeep is going to be your downfall!
Then, if Joe Sixpack is watching he can get the idea.
I tuned in after the debate started and could only stomach for a few minutes as I cannot cannot stomach listening to lies - and it was clear from my few minutes that the liars were given lots of time to talk, whereas Ron Paul was cut off. However, the advantage is it gives the liars time to ramble and say nothing and show their ignorance. Whereas Ron Paul knows he will only have a few seconds and must get his message out in those few. He is a Master at clearly and succinctly stating his positions so people understand.
Thank you for writing this article. It has only been one week since I became a Ron Paul supporter. Prior to then, I knew mostly nothing about any of the Republican candidates or their positions. I am not affiliated with any political party. But last week I did a search for Ron Paul on Youtube and within 30 minutes of watching clips from the previous debates I was convinced that this was the man I wanted to be our next president. I feel exactly as Erinzdad posted earlier - what message of Ron Paul's do Americans not agree with or understand? What am I missing? Much of it has to do with the fact that many Americans feed off the whole terrorist/911 propaganda and the other politicians know it and keep feeding it to the people as a justification for staying in Iraq. As for last night's debate, it became increasingly frustrating to continue watching all these questions being directed at the other candidates and not Ron Paul. Thankfully, Ron Paul's message resonates clearly and effectively in the small amount of time he is given. I made three particular observations last night: First, at the start of the debate, all the candidates were asked about their policies on the economy and each one, starting with Romney or McCain, began to parrot what Ron Paul has been saying all along - that they are fiscal conservatives and they want to reduce or eliminate the IRS, etc. (However, they can not escape the fact that their support of keeping the US involved in oversees engagements costs upwards of $1 trillion each year). Second, when the candidates were given the opportunity to ask each other a question, none of them had the courage to ask Ron Paul a question. This is obviously a strategic move on their part as they continue trying to avoid him altogether. And third, could McCain have tapped danced any more or exhibited his lack of grasping economic issues any more when questioned by Ron Paul about the President's finance/economics committee? He just rattled off the names of his own financial experts and basically acknowledged that he leaves it up to them to make the financial decisions. That's fine to consult with experts on various matters, but again, his response demonstrated how little he knows about economic matters and fiscal responsibility as they pertain to national economy. The post-debate show was equally as depressing to watch as Ron Paul got very little or no acknowledgment. The real true hope came at the very end when Chris Matthews had to interrupt one of his guests as the results of the telephone polls came in revealing that 40% of those calling in supported Ron Paul. A very strong statement indeed. Shame on MSNBC for their unfair coverage of the candidates. I expected more from them. But in the end, it seems like the message is becoming clearer that people are becoming increasingly supportive and vocal of the ideas and policies that Ron Paul promotes during his candidacy. Hopefully, this will become more evident during the coming months.

I am very pleased to see Ron Paul's intelligent message is starting to be heard and appreciated by many more American's. This man is the only one who speaks any sense and because of that, he is gaining respect all over the world. Edinburgh, Scotland
There are 3 big topics that Ron Paul can address which can help to convert many to support his campaign: 1 - He can apease many by saying that "God" created evolution! 2 - That, though he apposes abortion, it is still up to each individual, not the government, to decide their fate. 3 - Global Warming and Climate Change are a worse threat than any other, however let the states, and their constituents vote, as many are now, deal with these threats, in the best manner possible, without interference from the Feds.
Kevin Houston asked which 1676 battle I was referring to. In 1676 Nathaniel Bacon led a rebellion against Virginia's Governor Sir William Berkeley after there was no response from his "Declaration of the People" which criticized the colonial government for levying unfair taxes and failing to protect the colonists from the threat of Indian attacks. It is considered one of the earliest revolts against colonial rule.
DX10 many of us share your desire for him to be either more blunt or less professorial in his comments. Yet we must remember he is an OB doctor and a brilliant economic mind but not the gifted orator as some are.  Joe Sixpack can grasp what a Huckabee says but it is harder to grasp Dr. Paul. I think it is too late in the process for us to see this change as it is his natural style.
Captain, welcome to the rEVOLution. 40% continues to showcase one simple fact. The reason Dr. Paul continues to get such high voting at all the debates is because he represents a segment of people who care about this country and are willing to tune in when other candidate's supporters are tuned out. For this reason alone you'd think the media and especially the GOP would embrace us yet we see they prefer to ignore liberty and freedom. It is not a part of the overall two-party oligarchy's globally embracing corporatocracy, IMHO.Â
Captain, on behalf of my fellow Ron Paul supporters, I'd like to welcome you to the freedom movement! I see new donors on his website every day, so I'm encouraged that his message is reaching people. The fact that we are hearing comments from new supporters like you is a very positive sign for Paul's campaign.Â
Would some one PLEASE create a video juxtaposing Ron Paul discussing his policies and these guys now spouting thoses same ideas as their own after they ridiculed him for them?
Is it possible that the media's reaction to Ron Paul is because most of them want Hillary or Obama to win the election? They believe a pro-war Republican doesn't have a shot at winning, but an anti-war candidate with Ron Paul's credentials just might do the job.
Dr. Ron Paul is the only intelligent candidate with integrity and gut.
The American people as usual are shown what the media what to show.
The Media should not be in the hand of few. Because they could take the country to war as they did in Iraq. They can elect who ever they choose. It is very very undemocratic to let few decide for the rest of the country what they see and hear.
The media in the hand of private hands will destroy the USA.
Ever wonder how you corrupt an election? Well, we are all watching it realtime. Ron Paul's message is simple and clear. After a 3rd grade education and a year or two of paying taxes, nearly anybody should get a grasp of what's he is saying. There are however, forces at work within the country which have substantial control of our lives, from birth to grave. They derive a piece of our labors collectively. This amoounts to Trillions of dollars anually. We as "the people" have full control of the situation if we only exercize that control. Do you really think that these controlling interests are going to just move aside, allow us (US) to have our rights back and capitalize ourselves while dimminshing their fortunes? NO! They will use EVERY means possible to decieve, divide, distract, mis-inform us (US) to get what they want. They are totally afraid of the good doctor's message. One by one we need to mobilize to get the word out in order to inform and get his message heard. We must make people see the manipulation of the media for exactly what it is, an effort to skew the elections. Additionally, we llikely need to fund the good doctor to the tune of $150M more to properly inform all concerned. This happens to be $600 of stimulus times 250,000 donners. Thanks to Mr Bush for funding the repair of several decades of damage by the Bushs. Go Ron Go 2008.
That is probably one of the best ideas i've heard of. I wonder if anyone is willing to do a Rebate-for-Paul Campaign. Think about it, what is the best thing we could do with this money to stimulate the economy? Spend it and it becomes a short term fix. However give it to Dr Paul, and he will have the power to make real change to sustain his fight. With that kind of money only Romeny and Bloomberg would be able to keep up with Dr Paul's Message. If the media won't play him then he can buy the airwaves!Â
I think this drive however would have to come out of Dr Paul's Official Campaign..Maybe even spend some of that donation money that he already has to fund this drive.Â
Today I will send $50 Ron Paul
Today I will introduce 5 more people to Ron Paul's message of HOPE
Today I will leave 5 positve posts regarding Ron Paul
Today, every time I think of Ron Paul's message, (and that is a lot,) I will pray for our country and that Ron Paul will have the oportunity to lead it
Today I will be the best Paulite I can be by following Ron Paul's lead by dealing with people in a patient and dignified way.
Every day I will remember his sacrifice to save us all from Empire/NWO!!
Thank You Ron Paul!!!
So I take it most here don't like Hillary Clintons plan to raise taxes on the rich and the corporations so all our manufaturing and assets go overseas and we are forced to accept government housing and medical care whether we want it or not, or sticking with Bushes plan of waging a hundred year war with the Muslims perhaps the Chinese and Russians as well with 5 years of funding and have our enemies supply us with the financing, hardware and oil we need to blow them up with.
The Democrats and Republicans have no plans to get us out of the mess we are in and rebuild a strong and secure U.S.
Ron Paul has a detailed well thought out plan to save our nation in a stable and sustainable manner.
We can't expect other countries to finance and supply an empire opposed to thier interests. We can't expect to have anything other than 3rd world debt slavery with big government, high debt agenda
I thought McCain new exactly what Dr Paul was referring to and was simply dancing around the subject so he wouldn't have to say anything about it because that group is a strong asset to the president helping his policies "Seem " to be effective byt manipulating the financial markets up. In the long run they are driving us right over a financial cliff but that is what some want to see happen. So they can toss out the Constitution and take complete control.
