ATTN: LAGOP, WHERE ARE THE NUMBERS? I, as a Republican, would like to see some verifiable caucus results for the state of Louisiana!by Dee Ann Patterson

By that I mean I would like to see a county by county count of just who won the Louisiana caucuses? I believe that all of my fellow Republicans in Louisiana deserve to know where exactly their votes went. I would also like to know what in the world kind of candidate "Prolife Uncommitted" is? I never heard of him. Is he a registered Republican? Last time I checked there was no candidate "Prolife Uncommitted" that had declared his candidacy for the presidency. I say bring "Prolife Uncommitted" forward and make him abide by the requirement to declare his financial state every quarter. Did "Prolife Uncommitted" bring in 1.85 million dollars on Martin Luther King's Birthday a few days ago? No, that was Ron Paul.
If I was a Republican Citizen of Louisiana, I would be asking myself some questions. Do you REALLY want your votes hidden from public view this long? Do you really trust the leaders of the Republican Party to this extent? Does it not frighten you that somebody named "Prolife Uncommitted" is currently winning the caucuses in your state instead of a real candidate, while Republican citizens votes are being held up with "provisional ballots"? It would concern me greatly if this was going on in my state, even if I was not a Republican. Whether the votes went to McCain, Romney, Ron Paul, or Giuliani, I would want to be able to verify those votes the day of the caucus.

calm down now.. "Prolife Uncommitted" just means the caucus goers decided to put their faith in a group of delegates who will decide for them who the best candidate is and vote accordingly at the state convention. So those small number of delegates can now go decide who the best "pro-life/pro-family" candidate is. Oh.. that's not much better. :-/ Maybe they'll go find out who "Roe" endorsed? Also.. word is that there were a LOT of "provisional" ballots cast (for Paul...) and those all need to be verified so they can be counted.
My question; Is the eventual feburary Louisiana caucus where the 'elected' delegates vote for 'national' delegates anonymous?
The entire 'uncommitted delegate' concept reeks of foul play. It's not a stretch to think that the 'uncommitted' delegates were pre-emptively organized to support a single candidate, furthermore if the national delegate selection process is not anonymous does that not provide a VERY easy means to sell votes.
I am a delegate elected from my precinct caucus in NV and would like to share a little information of how caucuses work. The rules are different in every caucus; that's the beauty of our system, we can have rules governing how our own organizations work. The rules in NV did not require delegate candidates to announce their support for a specific presidential candidate. It became immediately obvious that the voters in my caucus precinct were not willing to vote for a delegate unless that delegate declared his/her loyalties. I think I made a good speech to support both myself and Ron Paul and turned some voters into my own supporters. When another delegate who had made a good speech, but at the urging of the precinct voters revealed that he was a Giuliani supporter , it became obvious that he lost some voter support.
My point to this story is that we will have to be flexible in caucus situations and think ahead of time of the possible effects of how we are running things. The move by the underdogs in Louisiana to band together in a "pro-life, pro-family" was a masterful one and one we would've had difficulty countering on such last minute notice. What we have to learn from this is that the Romney/Huckster/Gooniani supporters probably knew how organized we were and made plans to counter that strength within the rules of the caucus. We need to somehow foresee moves like this to counter them ahead of time. For example we could have made a much bigger deal of Dr. Pauls staunch pro-life stance. Our openness to discuss with each other strategy is both a strength and a weakness; we need to start looking into how other campaigns are working.
It's different in every state. I'm a Delegate for Ron in the 33rd congressional district of California. How it works here is every candidate submits 3 names to the SOS for each congressional district. Whoever wins a plurality or majority in each district sends their Delegates of that district to the National Convention. -So it is district by district. Winner-take-all is kind of a scam. The New Jersey GOP party chair switched NJ to a Super Tuesday winner take all state supposedly to make "New Jersey more prominent" in the election. -He also happens to work for Rudy's campaign. Whatever.
Huck, how nieve you are. The pseudo-pro-lifers won here, they are not "just a small number of delegates". In Lake Charles the top Ron Paul delegate came in -guess what- 16th...and 15 go to the convention. And they did it secretly. Are none of you the least bit suspicious when a supposedly pro life cabal supports Rudy Guliani? I admire your positive attitude Victor but you don't know Louisiana. The pro-life party was a scam for the Villere crowd to manipulate the votes to their liking at the convention. That is the reason they invented this particular type of convoluted caucus system in the first place. At least in New Hampshire we made them counterfit the votes when they want to manipulate them so it can be disputed either way. In Louisiana we are blatant about our corruption. Brian & Chris have it right. Our best move is to make ourselves an annoyance to the republican party like the hippies did at the 1968 democratic convention. The warmongers will win as they did in 1968, but at least we will show them for the snakes that they are.
Dee Ann Paterson,
I can almost give you what you are asking for. Its on the internet at least for Lake Charles. Go to the LAGOP website and click on district 7 I think it is. Check a couple. That will show you the count for the raw votes for Lake Charles and Lafayette. From here you have to know which of the Delegates were for Ron Paul. None of the top 15 "winners" were for Ron Paul. but #16, the first loser or the loser with the highest votes was. The 15 Ron Paul candidates were Ben brussard, Shay Davidson, Daryl Demaris, pricila Demaris, C. gates, D Johnston, s. Masrrero, L.J. Monteleone,J Nabours, J palmer(2), m Pense, P Ringo, D Schroeder, G. A. Ward.
They all lost. This smells to high heaven. I was there and Ron Paul was VERY WELL represented.
