Rush Is Right - Ron Paul and "A Snowball's Chance"...

Ron Paul does have a snowball's chance. No, I'm not talking about the one in the hot place - this is the one rolling downhill!

 "A snowball's chance."

That's what Rush Limbaugh had to say about Ron Paul last May... OK, for you nit-pickers out there, feel free to read the whole article. For the rest of you, here is a somewhat more complete exact quote from Rush:Snowballs - courtesy Wikipedia

"I'm just going to be honest with you.  I don't think Congressman Paul has a snowball's chance."

Everyone's entitled to their opinion. Some folks, like Rush, even make a living off of theirs. Ah, but what does Rush know? Well, I'll give him this: he does know that the "front runners" left in the race are not conservatives.

But I would maintain that Dr. Paul's chances have improved very considerably since that day last May when "El Rushbo" declared him not to have a snowball's chance. Of the eleven "big name" Republicans who started the race, only four are left. Giuliani has turned tail after doing so poorly in Florida. Thompson is gone, and was probably never really all that interested. Huckabee is beginning to feel the "cold shoulder" and both he and McCain are strapped for cash. Neither they nor Romney can assert any real "conservative" bona-fides.

Ron Paul, on the other hand, is just getting started. He has a ton of money in the bank, and there's more where that came from. He has the most powerful weapon in this race - a twenty year track record of political integrity energized by the only platform truly based on the Constitution. And according to the Associated Press, he is on the verge of winning the caucuses in snowy Maine. And so, for what it's worth, here's how I see things:Ron Paul 2008 - An Avalanche In Progress! - photo courtesy Wikipedia

Picture Dr. Paul as a snowball rolling down a very long, snowy slope, gaining speed and mass with every rotation, picking up support and substance as he goes. Yes, with one "flake" after another continuing to adhere to his campaign, pretty soon what you have is an irresistible  force taking out every obstacle in its path.

Didn't Rush also predict that only a true conservative, ie Thompson, could win SC?

I'm on board with the Paul Republicans. But I'm cautioning "wait for the big smear!" I don't expect Paul to go away after Super Tuesday but I do expect Huckleberry and Romney to bail out. Get ready for the big, big smear after that happens. Prepare the troops and those too young to remember things like what happened to Goldwater or even Clarence Thomas. No depth is too low for those in power to sink to in oder to hold on to that power.

Yeah, I wonder if they will pull a smear tactic like they did to Perot? I wouldn't trust the Repugnican Neo-cons as far as I can throw them, and the MSM is right there to help them along.

Yeah that always killed me about Perot. Here was the total American Dream Sucess Story in a complete package. He runs for president. Starts exposing the government with notions which since have come to pass (NAFTA anyone? Sucking Sound?). All of a sudden he's a lunatic.
Prepare the youngin's. They need to be aware of what can (will) come.

I was watching MSNBC a while back and noticed they presented a poll for something like "most conservative" republican and the poll numbers were, McCain 37%, Romney 22% and Huckabee 17%.  Now when I add that up it equals 76%.  So where are the other 24%?  It was a USA Today/Gallop Poll.  Maybe someone could find this poll and see if it included Ron Paul.  I bet he won the 26% thus putting him behind McCain.  It shouldn't be hard for Ron Paul to demonstrate he is in fact more conservative than John McCain if he would ever be presented by the media to the masses.  Since so many people know this is happening couldn't one of you lawyers out there file a class action law suit or something and bring some attention to this.  Surely in a court of law with reasonable jurors the system would work and the jury could make an appropriate decision.  Let's get busy people, you cannot rely on us older people, they have worn us down.  Young people, you have so much at stake.  Do not miss this opportunity or you will be so sad later in life.  Use the systems the founders gave you and get off your computer chairs.

Ron Paul screwed himself with the comment about the US inviting 9/11. Rush had nothing to do with his demise other than to tell us that Ron Paul had screwed himself. If Ron Paul actually had greater than 5% the media would start to smear him, but since he sits at 5% the media will ignore him. Ron Paul has no name recognition other than all of the spammers who have blasted out his name repetatively. Reason Magazine tried to promote him to no success. This is the way politics is.

The most contentious moment at A. Cooper's McRomney Show was the point Ron Paul wanted to make conservative vs. liberal.  The speed in which he was cut off was astounding.  He never got to get that point made, and clearly CNN could not allow this to be a post-debate issue.  People like 'statist' above, prefer the smoke and mirrors until financial collapse.

Statist, do me a favor! Google "al Queda" and read up on how this all got started and what the basis of the Baker 9/11 reports contention of what it wrote, and Ron Paul repeated, about the "Why" the attacks on the U.S. were a result of Our involvment in Saudia Arabia, Kuwait and Iraq. Perhaps you will come away with a little better understanding of a subject you obviously, know very little about.

Statist, you are not very astute at all. The media DOES smear Ron Paul, and his numbers are well over 5%. Try to keep up now!

But, critics (such as you Statist) are like the brushers of noble men's cloths.

Yes, a big smear can be expected... but now there is the internet.  With such as Goldwater the MSM was all there was. No one could break into or even question what was being "reported".  Now there can be a critical dissent that will take place and, most importantly, it will be shared by those of us who have long tired of the power-brokers and beltway boys, the time-servers and the flatterers  who have so long dominated our media and our government.

The statist is a troll.  He consistently casts his erroneous assertions, gets called down on them, but refuses to "put up or shut up".   Like a good troll, he ignores the counterpoints and simply moves on to his next erred point.  He doesn't seem interested in honest debate, just obfuscation via baseless blabbing.

Too bad, but I guess every blog site and forum board has a "statist" or two.

Well, let's see. Any fodder for InsaneMcCain smears?

How about the Keating-7 scandal? Or for fun, the photo of sniveling toady McCain hugging Bush (the man who slandered McCain's adopted child only months prior to the photo - some 'family values' eh McInsane?) Or how about his 'bomb-bomb-bomb-Iran' performance? Or his blather at a recent debate when Ron Paul asked him about the Plunge Protection Team? Or his admitting he knows Nothing about economics - during this time of economic crisis?

Or as he was eloquently described "stumbling bumbling, Mad John McCain rambles on and on ... he's Alzheimer's up close and ugly."

Note: pay no mind to 'statist' - he trolls Nolan Chart, posting unintelligible snides to every positive Ron Paul article - he really really needs to get out of his mom's basement and get some fresh air.

Awww, don't be so hard on Statist. He makes great practice for those just getting into politics. The new influx of people from a broad spectrum need to hone their ability to see through the antagonists' ignorance/malevolence.

On a lighter note. It's Ron and Carol Paul's 51st aniversery. Please "spam" $51 for reasons I'm sure you have already thoroughly researched. Carol really would make an excellent First Lady.

Last night I was at a Denver Rally with Ron Paul and the local media stated the following: "1,600 supporters" showed up... The place seated over 1,500 people, and at least have that were left standing wall too wall. Try more like 3,000 - 4,000 supporters. Not surprising however, I've read countless articles that are purposely misleading in their reporting of the facts. The fact is, this movement has exploded more than any other Candidate in the race despite the lack of media attention. Go RON PAUL!!! http://www.RonPaul2008.com

I do notice that the "MSM" has upgraded Ron Paul from "fringe candidate" to "dark horse candidate" in the last couple of days. I would call that an uptick.

As a side note, among the medical community, "MSM" is used as the shorthand for "Men who have Sex with Men". So every time I see that, I find it kind of funny.
