Why he should simply go away now... by Gary Wood

Ω Let's take a look at a few things and realize its time for Ron Paul to quit his Presidential campaign and simply go away. He's got a Congressional race in Texas's 14th District to run anyway, right? If he would pull out of the campaign now, before Florida, before Super Tuesday, before another voter casts their primary pledge of encouragement for a candidate to their Republican Convention Delegate he could stop spreading this message of liberty and freedom which seems to confuse the majority of voters anyway.
Ok, so he's done fairly well in the first few primary States, even nabbed a second in Nevada, the Silver State. Alright, his loyal Paulites donated another near $2 million dollars in one day and many thousands of those were actually first time donors. Yes, there are still tens of thousands of supporters canvassing door-to-door, holding honk & waves, working booths at local events, investing in advertising outside of the campaign to avoid draining money from the campaign, working hard to keep him running BUT is that really any reason to continue?
The longer this nice grandpa, this doctor, this Constitutionalist stays in the race the longer his message stays out there. Despite the mainstream media all but ignoring him right now (except to jab Giuliani for always being beat by Paul) his message of Hope for America' is still getting to new people everyday. With him in the race more people are being alerted to the disastrous monetary policy we operate under and are learning it really can be changed, restored to a sound system instead of the fiat system leading the country toward economic ruin. Every time he appears someone else finds out the foreign policy of non-intervention really does NOT mean isolationism but in fact stands for an extremely strong National Defense while having open trade, interaction, travel, and diplomacy with all the countries of the world instead of war.
It was just yesterday some young college kid was talking about the importance of directly attacking the spending crisis in Washington D.C. and how if the spending was brought into Constitutional constraints the IRS and income taxes could actually be abolished and the Federal Government would have plenty of money to operate on. This young punk even understood bringing the troops home from the 130+ countries they occupy now would not only save billions of dollars, save thousands of lives, be better for our troops health and help gain enough money to work toward retiring the debt but he also understood these troops would serve to defend our own borders instead of some foreign border. Combined with this renewed defense he was aware there were policies in place that helped create a lot of the illegal alien challenges and those had to be changed, including birth right citizenship, free health care, and lax employer focus.
If you happen to be one of these nut cases who thinks returning to a Federalist Republic based on a Constitution and like the idea of liberty and freedom with limited government and increased personal responsibility really works you should not read this article. You probably want him to keep on running; you probably even donated to him and are canvassing for him.
Surely you can see how the longer he stays in the race the more of this dissention and knowledge will spread. The more knowledge of these facts, the more enlightenment created regarding the roots of this nation, the less likely we will be able to evolve into the 'cradle to grave' socialistic corporatocracy we could be. If you are among the voters who understand we need mandated, universal health care; if you are among the voters who like it when a front runner for President says he thinks we should be in Iraq for the next 100 years; if you love income taxation and really think the idea of one big, happy global union is just what we need you know it is long past time for Ron Paul to quit. Doesn't freedom need to simply go away?

Love how you got me all fired up with the title and beginning of your article. I was loading up the bullets for my reply - but now I must send you smiles. Thanks.

Yes the title drew me to the article and I thought what is this guy talking about ? But the article ended with facts. Dr. Pauls campaign has awakened something much bigger that a GOP run for president, but a renewed force and desire for our generation of Americans back to our country's original founding and return to freedom.
