No Results for Ron Paul on Google News

I have had this happen so much that I descided that I needed to do an article on this. Google News search is a great utility but it will quite often return no result when you search for news on Ron Paul. I am wondering how many other people have witnessed this as well.

Please share your experiences with this as I am curious how often this happens to other people. I have done a lot of searches for other subjects and have not had this same issue. To be fair to Google it does not happen every time but it does happen often enough to be discouraging.

Ran into the same problem this morning myself. The first page of results seems to show fine but if I advance to page 2,  i get the no results screen shown above. Doesn't seem to matter if I limit the search to one month or one day. I've never run into this in years of daily google use before today....hmmmm.

I just went six pages into Google's search the news and had no problems. The good, the bad and the ugly were all there for me to see.

Have you checked lately for computer malware? There are some really nasty JavaScript exploits being put onto webpages. These bugs do not require that you click or download anything; just surfing to the page and you get hit.

It has been common knowledge for some time that "Ron Paul" has been one of the most searched items on Google. Do I mean to insinuate that some anti-Paul or other fool would set up a deliberately mined webpage? Yes, I do.

Remember the "Ron Paul spam"?  The spammers set up something that would have a high probability of being opened. Web crackers set up pages in a way that will get lots of hits in order to spread their malicious code and rootkits. This would be a natural.

You can Google "Threatfire" and try that tool. It checks for rootkits, keyloggers, etc. (I would put a link but maybe the site owner might think I am spamming, lol).  There is a free version that I have had great results with. Good luck.

I guess you have seen UFO's too huh?

No one cares about Ron Paul.

The Flying Spaghetti Monster did get some hits.

Statist,

Do you troll these pages night and day adding negative comments to everything? You are everywhere.

The two posters obviously have some sort of problem that you or I were unable to reproduce so I offered some advice.

Don't you have your own "Statist" page where you can go discuss your insights and thoughts?  Your rudeness is turning into obnoxiousness lately. There is no excuse for it other than you seem to be trolling for a fight.

I am doing you Ron Paul supporters a favor. If I can show how Ron Paul is not completely libertarian, then what do you think will happen if he actually wins a primary? The pro sharks will tear him appart. I hate to say it, but we libertarians are in the minority. Some of us just can't see that. It is as if we have conspiracy nuts who believe that google is blocking Ron Paul. The next thing that will happen is that Ron Paul supporters admit that 9/11 was an inside job.

Who is talking about conspiracies here besides you?

There are bad people on the web. They will use any popular search term to draw people to their poisoned pages. Malware is not specific as to what it can bork up, but I can see someone using this search term to draw people to their infected pages. Not because they give a hoot about Ron Paul. Their goal is to spread the infection any way they can.

Once malware is installed it can mess up just about anything including any or all search terms. It can redirect your websearches. It can change your home page. It can load your computer up with unwanted ads. It has nothing to do with Google or Ron Paul and is traceable to the malware. This is not a conspiracy. It has been going on for years. Google "malware adware". Try doing a "CoolWebSearch" search.

In your zeal to put everyone else down you quite often make yourself look ridiculous, statist. Don't do me any more "favors", OK.

I had this happen yesterday, but after waiting a few seconds and trying again everything was fine.

I'm thinking that Google is just periodically updating news items and we are just sometimes querying it during this split-second, vulnerable moment.  It's a testimony to the intense interest in Ron Paul!

Actually, I have had this problem off and on recently as well.  Have no idea what it's about.

Yes, I've seen that happen, too. Click on search, type Ron Paul, then click on news ... no hits. Refresh ... no change. Or sometimes clicking to the second page results in a no hits. I can only assume that the Google server must be so overwhelmed with searches for that name that the caches are not available at the time of the search.

I thought it was just me, I noticed the same thing. When it does work, the results are weak.

statist....the majority of Ron Paul supporters could give a rip what "party" he belongs to.  You can continue to limit your options by voting along party lines and voting for who you think will win and not who you want to win.  Continue to be spoon-fed by mainstream media and get your kicks off getting a rise out of a Ron Paul supporter here and there.  If you don't "get" Dr. Paul's message...if you think there's a candidate that is "more libertarian"...then you go and vote for them...or don't vote at all.  I don't think any Ron Paul supporters care either way.

Problem is I NEVER have problems with news or web searches for Ron Paul or anything else. Google is not slower than normal.

If someone had crafted a web page with malware embedded and meta tagged it as a "Ron Paul" page, any one of you who are searching often could have visited it and been infected without knowing it.

I did notice that all the Nolan Chart articles, among others, have disappeared from high in the Google search results today. This makes me think that Google has "cleaned house" ridding itself of some problematic search results. Pages that may have been reported as "mined".

Has anyone even bothered to check their computer for malware? Are all of you IE users? If so, you are susceptible to these drive by JavaScript attacks.

I wrote about this problem last week here:

"Google Meltdown? Where's Ron?"
http://www.nolanchart.com/article1030.html

You might want to read that, because in the article I go further and point out some of the serious implications should Google become "owned" like the present "mainstream media." - very sobering considerations indeed.

I google news of Ron Paul multiple times daily.  I have come across this many times I keep hitting search and usually after 2 or three or four tries it will finally work.  I favor believing it is a computer glitch because so many people google him daily or more often.

No problems for me, and I do the search multiple times a day.

I get maybe 5 or 6 google news alert "digests" for the search term "Ron Paul" daily.  This is actually how I keep my blog/news mirror, ApatheticsAnonymous.com updated with timely RP (and sometimes impeachment) news.  I've noticed no hiccups or dead days so utilziing the "News Alerts" service (left-hand menu after you do a news search) may be a viable alternative to manually polling for Google News search results.

I had it happen to me a few days ago. At first, it gave me the same message that was shown to you, later, it came up with 11 article, most of which were a month old. I'll admit that it happens rarely, but it happens. It lasted for about 10 min , and then everything was normal. I too search several times a day, never having a problem. But that wasn't the case a few days ago. (And yes, I spelled his name right.)
