Nevada and South Carolina Voters: Who Really Provides Change?

Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, John Edwards or...Ron Paul??
by John Armstrong

Tonight on MSNBC there was a Democratic Debate. One of the questions asked to the candidates was: "What is your greatest strength?"

Below are their truncated answers.

Senator Barack Obama--Bringing people together.

Senator John Edwards--Being a fighter.

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton--I'm not reallyif she answered the question, but she talked for a while and kept mentioning change repeatedly, attacking Obama's statements about not being a "manager", criticizing President Bush, and repeating words over and over that I'm certain her pollsters told her people wanted to hear.

Just like most issues confronting America, there is a deeper question that never gets asked. The failure to ask this deeper question is the reason the question that is asked ever became an issue to begin with. Some of these should be asked to the candidates, but most of them are questions voters should ask themselves before they cast their votes.

Instead of asking, "What is your plan to win the War on Terror?" The question should be asked is, "What does it mean to win and how will we know when we have?"

Instead of asking, "What is your plan for Iraq?" The important question is, "Why did we go in the first place?" (Kudos to Obama for actually touching on this when he said that we should have asked more tough questions before we went to war).

Instead of asking, "What will you do to solve the problem of high gas prices?" The question should be asked is, "Why are gas prices high?"

Intead of asking, "What is it that you would do about health care?" The question that should be asked is, "Why exactly is it that people can't afford healthcare?"

Instead of asking, "What would you do about illegal immigration?" The question should be, "What are the factors that cause people to risk their lives to come here illegally?"

Instead of asking, "What is your plan for solving the mortgage crisis?" The real question is, "What caused the mortgage crisis?"

Instead of asking, "What will you do as President to solve all of these problems?" The question that should be asked is, "What is it exactly that a President is supposed to do?"

Instead of asking, "How will you change America?" The question that should be asked is, "Whatput us in a position where everyone wants change?"

If you haven't voted yet, please consider these questions. Then consider Ron Paul as your choice for President (even if it means crossing party lines to do so). Why should you consider Ron Paul? The real questions are the ones he actually asks and has answers for.Ron Paul'sgreatest strength is keeping his word so their is noreason to believe he wouldn't do so as President.

In case you don't have time or don't feel like finding out the answers to these questions, I will gladly send you links and answers as to why Ron Paul is the best candidate if you will send me an email. Or you can read some of my previous articles and probably find the answers there.

Every other candidate is looking at America's finger and seeing that it is burned. A burned finger hurts and is very noticable. Their solution for how to not burn that finger is to touch the stove with another one. While it is true that by doing this the initially burned finger may in time no longer be burned, even though the rest of the hand may be scorched. Only Ron Paul is saying, "Hey, how's this for a solution--DON'T TOUCH THE STOVE."

I know that finger hurts, America; but why don't we focus on keeping our hand by using our heads?

John Armstrong
