The price of graoline is too high. This increases the price of nearly every we buy, makes if harder for poorer workers to get to their jobs, and threatens the whole economy. The Congress and the bureaucrats want to add a new tax to this burden, Ron Paul says no. by rtbohan

Ron Paul Tuesday called upon the other candidates to take a position on increasing the gasolne tax, with gas already over three dollars a gallon.
"This is a great example of how out of touch with are with American people," Paul said. With gas over three dollars a gallon and a slowing economy the last thing we needis a tax increase to be paid by those who can least afford it."
Paul called on the other candidates to state their position on this.
He is certainly right that it is a tendency of politicians to try to solve every problem with more taxes, and that this will place the burden on working class Americans and small businessmen. Small businesses and workers who have to commute are already being driven into debt by the cost of gasoline , a large part of whose cost.is already going to state and federal gasoline taxes. They should not have to pay an additional tax. when the cost of everything they buy is increasing because of the cost of transportation.
The tax was recommended by a commision of bureaucrats and businessment created by the 2005 energy act. Representative Paul was one of only nine congressmen to vote against it.
All of the candidates say they are interested in cutting at least some taxes, and all claim to be concerned about the slowing of the economy and the condition of the working class. Ron Paul has challenged them to take a stand on this issue, and showed them the right patm
Voters should demand that they respond.

The last thing that you should want is for politicians, including Ron Paul to fix the gas price. Look at what Ron Paul wants to do to "fix" the border, ban Mexicans. Look at what Ron Paul wants to do for freedom arround the world, stop oppressing the statist world.
