The Republic of Lakotah, today stands on legal ground and is using its momentum to focus all assets on key issues. Most vital among those issues is the Black Hills.
The Black Hills are home to Mt. Rushmore and the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
In their update today, the Republic addressed the Black Hills issue.
"The Republic of Lakotah is now putting special focus on the Black Hills, The Black Hills are Holy lands of the Lakotah people."
According to the Republic update, "In 1980, the United States Supreme Court awarded money damages to the Sioux Nation for the unlawful taking of the Black Hills which now total over $1.2 billion. The Lakotah people refuse to take the money."
"Would Catholic people take money and give up the Vatican? Would Muslim people take money and give up Mecca? Lakotah people want our sovereignty of the Black Hills restored and recognized by the world." said Russell Means, Chief Facilitator for the Provisional Government of the Republic of Lakotah, in the update.
Means also made it clear that the focus on the Black Hills in no way means the Republic is waiving its claims to other traditional Lakotah lands.
Speculation on which foreign governments will support the Republic has been a hot topic. While unable to confirm any speculation. The Republic of Lakotah did address the issue.
"A month after the Republic of Lakotah re-asserted its sovereignty, the United States and its state and municipal governments are still present and operating in the Republic. These foreign governments are being invited to meet with the provisional government of the Republic of Lakotah."
On July 4, 1946, the Republic of the Philippines gained its independence from the United States. They are now, according to wikipedia, the 37th largest economy in the world and the 12th largest country by population.
The Republic update, compared the two, to show their legitimate claim to the territory within the Republic of Lakotah.
"History has shown that colonizers withdraw from their colonized territories and return sovereignty to the indigenous people. Even the United States has done this. The Republic of the Philippines, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the Republic of Palau were all colonized by United States but are now all sovereign nations.
The Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the Republic of Palau obtained their sovereignty through a Compact of Free Association, The Republic of Lakotah sees this Compact as a legitimate model for dialog with the United States."

Screw Religion. It is the one thing that keeps people racist, sexist, and bigotted. Religion is voluntary tyranny. Who cares about those people, if they want to be independent, they can go and conquer annother land. If they can't accept the fact that they are American, then they should move somewherelse. Ron Paul supporters don't care about Mexicans, what makes you think that they will care about full blood Amerindians?
